Sometimes veneers and reshaping are not an option for fixing a smile, which leaves braces as a viable option. Braces tend to be unpopular due to the social stigma that comes along with them, especially if you need them as an adult. Thankfully, there are a few options for braces that make them practical for anybody.
Most people believe an orthodontist and a dentist have two extremely similar jobs all because they both work with the human mouth. This, however, is not entirely true. An orthodontist focuses on a patient's mouth, straightening teeth and even jaws when necessary. Orthodontists will always make sure that jaws are properly aligned before recommending braces. Depending on each patient, the number of years wearing braces can vary (“Become an Orthodontist”).
Throughout the years, I've learned to accept the fact that going to the dentist is as bad as it seems. In other words, no kid has ever liked going to the dentist, for the fact being that all they seem to do is dig through our mouths and jab at our gums. At one point or another, everyone is required to go to the dentist for either a filling, cavity, or just simply a cleaning, but that wasn't the case for me. I had to get my braces on. Doesn't sound as bad as it truly is but two years of dealing with metal in your mouth isn't my idea of “a walk in the park”. Not only is getting braces on a bad thing for me but the fact that it was early in the morning so I was tired and that fact that I felt like I was growing old just waiting for the dentist
Healthcare is a necessity to sustain society. Dentistry is an area of healthcare that I feel extremely passionate about because access to proper dental care is limited, especially in the underserved communities. As an African American, I want to become a dentist and healthcare provider in the hopes of helping patients and adding to the diversification of the field. With a growing minority population in the United States, it has become apparent that there is a shortage of black dentists. This is problematic because underrepresented minorities are in great need of access to culturally connected dentists who understand their clinical needs as much as their lives and their challenges. I believe that when the profession includes a range of ethnicities

To many people, especially children, the word snack implies thoughts of chocolate and sugar; however, in the early twentieth century, people relied on fruits to fulfill their desire for a between-meal snack. It was even a privilege to some children to receive an apple or a banana from their parents as an after-school snack. Unfortunately, children today prefer junk foods like candy bars. However, popular preference is not always the best way to go. Fruits, such as apples and grapes, are better snacks than candy bars because they are healthier, better tasting, and more satisfying.
Sweet potatoes - sweet potatoes are said to be a great source of potassium, fibre, vitamin C, and of beta-carotene, antioxidants that prevent cancer and free radicals. Goal: In order to increase my fruit intake I need to budget my money well and buy more variety of fruits to eat throughout the day. I could pack an apple going to the college as a healthy snack instead of buying chips. I can also eat some fruit at the end of my meals to substitute for super sweet desserts. Instead of asking my mother for unhealthy Asian snacks, I could ask her to bring in some Asian fruits to eat instead. When there isn’t enough time to eat my fruits, I could chop them up into a blender and make a fruit smoothie so I’ll still have my daily intake

Ever since my childhood I have been passionate to make remarkable contribution in improving mankind and making earth a better place to live for everybody. Dentistry will prove to be one of the very important steps in achieving my goal. I am from a highly educated middle class Indian family. Since my childhood, I always wanted to be a health professional and my dad encouraged me a lot. I remember when I was in 6th grade my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and why? I replied “A Dentist because it is the job mixed with ART, SCIENCE and MEDICINE.” I still remember the look on her face, she was surprised, may be because she never expected such kind of reply from young boy. I started working towards my goal, after scoring good marks in 10th grade, I worked hard for two years in medical subjects and cracked my State Common Entrance Exam and got admission in well renowned Dental Institute of my state. I completed my Bachelor’s (BDS) in March 2014 from NTR University of health sciences which is an esteemed university all over India.
