In my literature 12 class at Summit Academy North High School we were asked to job shadow the person of our chosen career. So I choose to job shadow Michael Wojcik, a self employed computer programmer. Michael Wojcik is a very successful, hard working, focused individual. I assume he would have to learn to be though, considering he works alone with no one to help motivate him. Which is something you may want to consider before coming a computer programmer. You would also want to consider all the tasks you have to accomplish in order to be successful, all the other responsibilities they have other than being their own motivation and last but not least how much money they make and what it takes to even become a computer programmer. So first lets visualize what a typical day for a computer programmer may look like and the certain tasks they would need to accomplish daily in order to be successful. Such as making sure all their patron's requirements have been met, making sure each program is accurately maintained and making sure everything is up to date. Michael works with people from all around the globe in order to create certain programs. He gets fuddled sometimes and needs a little guidance …show more content…
Of course, you can always get a babysitter, but trying to explain to a three year old that you are going to be home all day but don't want them there is not so easy. You also have pets and you're at home so you are more relaxed, which leads to the temptation of climbing right back into bed. It does have its perks though. Like I have stated before, it does allow you to be comfortable. It also allows you to make your own schedule, vacation time, and rules. But if you manage to get past the very few perks it has you will be able to see this job is not very aesthetically
In today’s society, many people look at stay-at-home moms as being lazy or irresponsible, but in the article, “Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Mom,” Ashley Nelson states many different reasons why being a stay-at-home mother isn’t so bad. Staying at home with children makes families closer together and they get along more. People in society argue that mothers need to work instead of spending time with their children. In, “Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Mom,” Nelson claims that being a mother is stressful, that mothers are being discriminated and treated differently, and that they are given too many extra hours at work. I agree with Nelson that being a mother is hard, they are discriminated, and that they are given too many hours at work because having children and a job is tough, many people believe mothers can’t have a job and a child at the same time, and having a child means they need more hours at home to bond and take care of their children.
Blue collar work refers to work that involves manual labor. They are typically working class. They also usually earn hourly wages. These jobs can be unskilled or skilled. The difference between unskilled labor and skilled labor is that unskilled did not require that its workers be specially trained or have to learn a special skill. Meanwhile, skilled labor requires its workers to have a skill or special training in order to be able to perform that specified work.
Paying a babysitter to watch your children while you are at work may seem like a smart idea and at the same time it may be cheap, but some people are not responsible to care after kids. They may have a good resume and background check but still, they are not what you are looking for. Some parents make the mistake of hiring babysitters and while in the care of the sitter, their child may come up missing, abused, etc. All babysitters are not bad caretakers; however, but you should just watch who you have watching your children.
I am excited about the prospect of attending medical school. My dream began when I was a child in a rural village in Bangladesh, continued through graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) with a biology degree. Now, I am working in a research lab at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).I have had many experiences that have reinforced my desire to become a physician.
Exploring some of the pro’s about staying home, addressing childcare would sound a bit scary. Although you could never replace the love and nature of a parent or caregiver the aspect of quality care is just as it be if you were home. Daycare provides children the development they need to meet expectations of growth and development. When children attend childcare they are amongst their peers, and will learn many of their motor, social, and emotional development. Being at daycare children learn how to problem solve, learn how to share, and establish friendship. Although that is the highlight of daycare there are some con’s as well such as cost, the quality of staff, and the regulations you have such as pick up and drop up and drop off times. Being a parent that has experienced both sides of the argument I have to say that I am natural with both. Before I had my children I never wanted to be a stay at home mother. My mom was a career mother working in law enforcement and I would always tell her that you are super mom and I will be just like you. Well different things happen and we don’t always get to choose the path after we have
Interview Project For my shadow day interview I interviewed my father Jeff Stotlar. He works for a healthcare company called Merck. Merck sells pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and animal health products. Merck has been operating for over 125 years developing treatments for people as well as animals.
Who am I? I would say I am a hardworking, dependable and committed individual I try my hardest in everything, even if I 'm not good at it or don’t know a thing about it. I am always willing to give it a shot and get out there and learn something new. My motivation to move forward with my career would be my family because they have always been there for me and want to see me succeed in life and I want to show them that they can have faith in me to be the best that I can be and be proud of me for trying to succeed in my career.
The United States of America has been known as the land of freedom, justice, and liberty for all. She is held responsible for cooking, cleaning, laundry, and taking care of the little ones; whereas, men have a option. Society also plays a huge role in gender inequality. Women are always portrayed as housewives; whereas, men are suppose to be the ones that have real jobs. In the twenty-first century, women have finally began to work outside of the house. But they still are expected to go home and take care of the housework too. In the article “Second Shift,” Ms. Hochschild argues how married women work two full-time jobs. She says that women work longer hours, acquire less sleep, and often are more sick compared
In the film Working Lives, we learn of the history of the working class during the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution started the social structure of working classes in society and technology opened many doors for skilled and unskilled labor. In the 18th and 19th centuries unskilled laborers could find jobs in factories, mines, and mills, thanks to technological advances. In today’s world, technological advances are taking over the unskilled labor positions.
The Book of Job The Book of Job Job was a righteous man who lived in Uz. He had seven sons and three daughters. He owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yokes of oxen, five hundred donkeys and many slaves. Each year, he held a banquet where Job would have each of his children purified.
Sophia looked up at Loki, her eyes wide. Braless, a bit cold and still mad at hell, she pushed herself off the bed only to have Loki toss her over his shoulder again, her hair falling all over her face as she was upside down and she was pretty sure her left breast was being smashed against his back. Wiggling she whined.
Becoming a computer programmer would be great because there are many options in this career by having the ability to produce an operating system, or a game for the world. Computer programmers have many opportunities in life to find a job they would love. Programmers can work independently, or in a big company. Programmers have and are creating the future for computers.
In every work place you will find employees who are happy with what they do and employees who are just there to complain and collect a paycheck. My topic for this discussion will cover job dissatisfaction.
However; there are also many advantages to stay at home mothers. It is proven that children with stay at home mothers have more stability in their lives. Men and women are equally qualified in taking care of children, and being stay at home
Nowadays, the numbers of students who are always looking for a part time job while they are attending college is increasing every day. According to an article was published in 1998 on The Futurist, the number of students who have a part-time job increased from 5% of students in the 1950s to almost 70% of the students in some communities (“Jobs hurt school performance” n. page). Because of a bunch of fee and cost that students have to handle, working during college seems to be a necessity than an option. The part-time jobs provide not only paychecks but also experience, skills for the students. It is very helpful for the students after they graduate college and look for a real job. Although there are some people who argue that having a job during
