Distilled water is popular and has been around for thousands of years. Distilled water is a form of purified water whether by the ways of the past or the technology of the present. This purified water is what we, as humans, mainly drink. "Water is a clear, odorless, tasteless liquid which is essential for most animal and plant life and is an excellent solvent for many substances" (National Center for Biotechnology Information, n.d.). Water is the most common and useful substance in the world.
History of Distilled Water One of the first people to describe the distillation of water was around 200 A.D. by a man named Alexander of Aphrodisias. Aristotle also went into detail about distilling and purifying water (Distilled Water Association,

In small amounts, water appears colorless and clear but is, in fact, blue. For example, when humans drink water from a cup, it appears clear, but the ocean water is blue. Water covers around 70% of the earth's surface and makes up about 60% of the human body. The amount of water in the human body depends on the age of the person. Babies have around 78% water, one-year-olds have around 65% water, adult males have around 60% water, and adult females have around 55% water (ESGS Water Science School, 2016). The water in our bodies has many different, important functions. The water in the human body is “a vital nutrient to the life of every cell, acts first as a building material, regulates our internal body temperature by sweating and respiration, transports and metabolizes the carbohydrates and proteins that our bodies use as food into the bloodstream, assists in flushing waste mainly through urination, acts as a shock absorber for brain; spinal cord; and fetus, forms saliva, and lubricates joints” (ESGS Water Science School,2016). Water in our bodies is important to our lives.
Mineral Water Mineral water appears as a carbonated water containing minerals. Mineral water is created when water comes out of the ground, passes through several layers of rocks, and contains minerals from these rocks. This type of water is known as containing healthy minerals and ingredients. 'Mineral water

Some of the harmful ingredients are sodium, nitrates, aluminum, and sulfates (Mazlan, 2017). Excess sodium can cause high blood pressure, nitrates can harm babies and pregnant women, and excess sulfates can act as a laxative instead of detoxifying the liver, assisting in digestion, improving skin health, and reducing muscle cramps (Mazlan, 2017). The health benefits of mineral water are its detoxifying properties, calorie-free, a source of calcium, lowers cholesterol, hydrates more effectively, prevents cognitive decline with Alzheimer's, used for thermal baths or spas, has good minerals, helps improve blood regeneration, and boosts athletic performance (Mazlan, 2017). Overall, mineral water is healthy for
Fiji Company is one of the top bottle water brands in the United States. Fiji was “founded in 1996 out of the desire to share the earth’s finest water with the world” (Fiji, n.d). Its water is being exported from the Fiji islands around the world across fifty countries and the United States. According to the company’s website, their water is “slowly filtered by volcanic rock [where] it gathers minerals and electrolytes that create Fiji’s soft, smooth taste.” Although they say their water comes from this exclusive source, “the manufacturing process is energy-intensive and produces toxic byproducts. The plant that makes the bottles is one part of Fiji you’ll never see pictured on a Fiji Water bottle” (Niman, 2007, para. 7). Of course the company will always show th...

The World Health Organization defines domestic water as being “water used for all usual domestic purposes including consumption, bathing and food preparation” (World Health Organization, 2003). Ample supplies of clean domestic water are essential for drinking, cooking, hygiene, and various amenities. Most importantly, water is critical to human life as it supports the digestion of food, absorption, transportation and use of nutrients and the elimination of toxins and wastes from the body (Kleiner,1999). In the United States, the average male should consume a minimum 2.9 liters or water per day while the average female should consume 2.2 liters (New York Times, 2009). Inadequate water intake can lead to dehydration and other health issues. Studies have correlated inadequate water intake with coronary heart disease, and complications associated with childbearing. Other studies have indicated decreased risks of colonic and breast cancer with increased fluid intake (1999).
The human body is estimated to be about 60 to 70 percent water. Blood, as well as your muscles, lungs, and brain all contain a high percentage of water. Water is extremely important and essential to our health (Kaushik, Mullee, Bryant, Hill, 2007). Dehydration is one of the most common side effects of not consuming enough w...
...he world, for example in Africa there is a scarcity of water. Here in the United States its way different, we have water all over the place and we waste it. Water is important to our bodies, because it lubricates the body’s joints and rids of all unnecessary metabolic waste. One way to check if you are drinking enough water , is by checking the color and amount of your urine. For example is your urine comes out dark and in a little amount you need to drink more water. When your urine is pale and yellow, your body has returned to a normal state. Water in

Wretlid (1999) explain that water is important in human body because, it help to control our body temperature, carries nutrients and water product from our cell, and it needed for our cells to function help us to lose weight, for the heath skin, fight infections, get rid of toxins, health heart, prevent join pains and arthritis, boost energy, prevent constipation and reduce chances of cancer. World Health Organisation recommended that, adults drink 8 glasses of fluid daily or more in hot weather or during physical activity. This fluid doesn’t have to be water alone.it can also obtain from juice, milk, soap as fruit and vegetables Garrow
...fference? Both tap water and bottled water may contain salts and minerals found naturally in the earth. It's possible that people may taste these materials in their water. The taste of tap water that many people dislike, however, is the chemical chlorine. Water systems use chlorine to make sure tap water is safe to drink. Fortunately, you can purchase inexpensive water filtration systems that can easily remove chlorine from tap water and improve the taste. These filters are a better alternative to purchasing expensive bottled water.
The process of distillation has been used by humans for years to create alcoholic beverages. Distillation is the process of boiling a pair of liquids with different boiling points and then condensing the vapors above the boiling liquid in an attempt to separate them. One might suspect that the mixed two liquids of different boiling points could be separated simply by raising the temperature to the lower boiling point of the two liquids. However, this is not the case. The two liquids “boil” together at some temperature between their two boiling points.
Water is an essential nutrient that our body requires every day. Without water human life cannot be sustained. Water deprivation kills faster than lack of any other nutrient. People do not think of water as a nutrient and don’t realize the important role of water in the body functions.
Water is one of the most essential non-renewable natural resources on the Earth. Technically, an un-hydrated human being can live no more than three days. In the United States, people consume water mainly from tap water and bottled water. However, the consumption between these two sources is not even, but lean to one side heavily. According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, people consume from 240 to over 10,000 times more per gallon of bottled water than they usually do for tap water.

When water contains a lot of calcium and magnesium, it is called hard water. Hard water is not suited for all purposes water is normally used for.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, 60% of human body is composed of water and 70% of the brain is made up of water. Every day, we need to drink about 2.4 liters of water to replace the water lost in our daily activities. We do have enough water on the earth but we don’t have enough freshwater supply. The earth is covered by 70% of water but only 1% of that is freshwate...
Water plays such an important role in our daily lives. 70% of our body is composed of water. 70% of the earth surface is also made up of water, but out of the 70%, only 1/3 of water is consumable. In fact, this amount has been continuously to decrease as more and more industries began to pollute and damage the water. For example, many toxic chemicals may be released into the water thus making the water impure. Such pollutions and damages lead the water to be contaminated and inconsumable as it may cause severe diseases. Water purification can remove all the unnecessary bacteria and viruses from the water that is hazardous for our health. Water purification may also improve the flavor and appearance of water. It removes the unpleasant odor. Therefore, water purification became one of the most useful and popular process used by people all over the world today. It is by far the most recommended and safest water treatment that is commonly used to purify damaged water into consumable water. Water purification provides us with safe, pure and clean water to consume and use.
