1. Name the six basic nutrients needed by the body. What is each of their unction? What types of foods might you find them in?How to they each benefit the body? The human body requires 6 basic nutrients. These 6 are Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, water, vitamins, and minerals. Carbohydrates are split into two main groups. The simple sugars and the starches. Simple sugars contain fructose, glucose and lactose. All three sugars can be found in most fruits. The starches are found in bread, rice, some fruits, some vegetables, and potatoes. Carbohydrates are mainly tasked with providing your body energy. However, in some instances where the body lacks enough fibre, the carbohydrates can be broken down to provide a replacement for fibre. Proteins are the building blocks for your body. The proteins are broken down into amino acids. These amino acids are used to build and repair muscles, hair, blood cells, and some hormones. Proteins are also a good source of calories, which the body recognizes and uses to replace carbohydrates. Without proteins are body’s couldn't exist. Proteins can be found in the Protein Foods Group, which consists of meats, eggs, nuts, beans, etc.. Fats are used to help produce and absorb certain vitamins and hormones. In addition to this, fats 'cushion' vital organs. Fats also act like calorie storage, although this is not their main use. Fats can be found in butter, cheese, oil, and most dairy products. In addition, the body converts extra calories into fat, hence the reason they are like calories storage. Water is very important to have in your body. Water is in charge of transporting nutrients throughout your body, removing waste products, controlling out body temperature, etc.. These people will make sure you get back to a health weight and attempt to change the way you think of weight gain (Or whatever your cause is). Bulimia nervosa (normally called bulimia) is “disorder” where a person feels the need to eat more food than is needed. Some symptoms of bulimia are sores on the knuckles or hands (Caused when a person sticks their fingers down their throat to cause vomiting.), discolored teeth (from the stomach acids), and puffy cheeks (again caused by repeated vomiting.). You can die from anorexia or bulimia. Both of these conditions can cause your body to not receive the nutrients it needs, cardiac problems, damage to the esophagus, etc.. Both of these eating disorders are very serious and caused deaths every year.
