A lot of people in the United States like to watch football. I love to watch football and watch my favorite team the Oakland Raiders play every Sunday. Their quarterback, Derek Carr, is awesome and is the one of the reasons why the Raiders are so good. Derek Dallas Carr is the Oakland Raiders starting quarterback. Derek Carr was born on March 29, 1991 which makes him 26 years old today. Derek was born and raised in Bakersfield California but later moved to Texas. He is the youngest of three boys David, and Darren and has a mother and father. His mom and dad Shyrell and Roger Carr both work their church in Bakersfield.

He passed for 1,246 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore, and 1,622 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior. While a junior, Carr led his team to an undefeated 13–0 season. As a senior, Carr led the Eagles football team to a 12–1 record. During his Junior year, he got recruited by many different colleges. Out of all the Schools, he chose Fresno State which is close to where he is was born. Carr began as an early-entry freshman for the semester at Fresno State in 2009 so he could participate and practice in spring football with the Bulldogs. While in college , he received many rewards for how good he was. Carr received the 2013 CFPA Elite QB Award for his performance over three seasons at Fresno State and in 2013, Carr won the Sammy Baugh Trophy. He finished in 8th place in the Heisman Trophy voting. He is a married man to Heather Neel and has two little boys , Dallas and Dekker. His first son Dallas was born with medical condition that tied up his intestines and required three surgeries to correct his insides. Derek was heartbroken and let his faith takeover. Derek has a very strong belief in God and prayed that his son is going to be ok. After his son’s surgeries, he was so happy and thankful for Valley Children's Hospital for saving his son’s life. From that point on, he and his wife always donate to them and even have their own foundation called DC4KIDS. For every touchdown pass Derek completes in the 2017-18 season, plus any rushing touchdowns, participants will donate $100 to DC4KIDS. The foundation is going great and is continuing to
