TIM TEBOW
Have you ever heard of one the most dominant players in florida gators history. Someone who took the mediocre florida Gators into a contender for the college championship every year he was there. His name is Tim Tebow and begins is his story. The book through my eyes a quarterback's journey is about how a young boy always struggling to play his favorite position on the field the quarterback, because he didn’t have the body shape for a QB but a body shape for a linebacker.
Tim Tebow always loved to play sports even at a young age he’s favorite was football. Tim loved football because it was in his blood both of his two older brother were in D1 schools playing linebacker. Tim never wanted to be a linebacker tim wanted

to plays QB. Tim's first experience of an organized football league was pee wee football. Tim would always asked his coach to be QB but the coach wouldn’t listen he’d put Tim at Running Back or linebacker. This didn’t stop tim from following his dream so he started to practice every day and begged his dad to start lifting weights. His dad would always say no, since lifting weights before you hit puberty can stunt your growth. Tim was very upset his dad didn’t let him fit weights he was very excited to start. When his dad finally let him lift weights. Tims very grateful and spent hours improving his football skills. When tim, was in 9th grade Tim was very excited to start the season with Jacksonville Trinity Christian Academy. There was only one problem the coach there wouldn’t even let tim play QB as a third string even. Coach thought since tim was 225 lbs he would benefit the team to play linebacker. Tim reluctantly played linebacker that year while Tim's dad tried to convince to reconsider since Tim liked to play QB so much. After coach wouldn’t let tim play the QB position Tim transferred to negase high school where tim would get a chance to play QB his sophomore year.
There he would average 1,500yards per game and 2 touchdowns. In the end he didn’t make it into the championship that year. The next year was his junior year where he played amazing and had some college scouts look at him. The went almost undefeated with only one loss that year. In the playoffs they seemed unstoppable blowing every team by 20 points or more. The championship came around and Tim had an early lead of 28-7 into the half. In the locker room most of the team was celebrating, because they thought they had already win with that dominantinh lead. In the 2nd half they came 35-31 but in the 4th quarter where they finished them off with a score of 52-38. During the off season that year Tim received a few voicemails from the colleges asking Tim if he want to come to this college for a full ride scholarship. They weren’t created by the coach or anything of that sort, but Tim thought it amazing that they were looking at him as a player. Overtime coaches started to meet with Tim some of these being Alabama, Iowa, USC, Florida, Florida state and many more. When Tim was thinking about where he wanted to further his football career were Florida and Alabama. These teams were both very supportive to Tim in different ways. Alabama would be a good choice for him, since the coaching staff was amazing and the people were always nice …show more content…
and kind to him. He Also wanted to come to Florida because he grow up loving the Florida Gators and Tim always dreamed to play QB for Florida. Thus was a very hard choice for Tom both amazing teams that would support him through his time in college. In the end he went with the Florida Gators and when he made that call he started crying he know how much of a big decision this was.Tims senior season at Hesse was amazing he throw for 3,500 yards that season and 23 touchdowns. In the playoffs they went sweeping through everybody nobody could stop them. In the championship the final sore was 49-7. On the day of his first game as a Florida Gator he was ecstatic he dreamed of this as a little kid and now it’s actually a reality.
His first year as a freshman he wasn’t a starter but played many snaps. They won that game 31-14 Tim had 2 touchdowns that game which is pretty good as a backup. The start of the season went pretty well until they played Troy. They were 14-0 at half then in the 3rd quarter Troy was beating Florida 21-14. They went back and forth until Troy eventually won that game. The rest of the season after that they went undefeated. The championship came around and the Florida Gators had to face Ohio State. The #1 rated team that year everyone thought that Ohio State would kill Florida but it was actually much different. Florida won 41-14 and the whole team in the locker room after that game were ecstatic. In his sophomore year Tim was the starter and he was very excited get more snaps. There sophomore year wasn’t as successful and they only won 6 games they went to the playoffs to lose to Miami. Tim know that many of the players on that team didn’t work very hard and didn’t push themselves to become better. In his sophomore year he won the Heisman Trophy which is a very prestigious award to earn. In his Junior year they did better only losing 1 game that year. In the playoffs they swept through the competition and sooner or later they were in the playoffs. This was a big game since Florida was playing Alabama the team Tim also thinking about to go
to. In the first half Florida was up 21-0 which was a dominating lad until they scored 17 unanswerable points but they closed in the 4th quarter the final score was 31-17. After this game many people now know who Tim Tebow was. After this year Tim could’ve elected to go to the NFL draft that year since he was a junior. Tim in the end didn’t since he thought wasn’t ready for the NFL just yet. One of his teammates did though Percy Harvin one of Tim's best wide receivers. Tims last season they went 12-1 and were the favorite in the playoffs. They beat every team in the playoffs very easily. In the championship they won 24-14 Tim was ecstatic on the locker room. Imagine winning 3 out 4 college championships with a team that wasn’t very good to start with. In 2009 Tim Tebow elected to go to the NFL draft and was selected to go to the Denver Broncos as the 25th pick Tim Tebow was on of the and is the most dominating players ever in college football. Imagine winning 3 out 4 college championships as your time as a gator. In the one championship he didn’t win was where he won his Heisman Trophy which is like the MVP in college. All in all I think Tim was a great leader and person you could trust with anything and I feel most of his teammates would say the same.
Instructed by the NFL not to use his career to publicize his personal, religious beliefs, Tim Tebow didn't throw a fit. Instead, he became physically involved and active in his cause and community. He's been criticized time and time again, however, he has continued his efforts towards his cause. Others don't agree with him, yet he's not acting out, offending large groups, to try to get his point across. He's putting in hard work to be the change he wants to see.
