Essay On Climate Change

Climate change refers to a change in global or regional climate patterns. Scientists agree that climate change is already beginning to transform life on Earth. The recent rise in global temperatures has brought changes in the weather and the climate. Many places globally have seen changes in rainfall and weather patterns. We may not like it but climate change is one of the most important issues that have effects in many parts in our daily lives. If climate change isn’t slowed down it will have a significant impact on global temperature, sea levels, human diseases, and wildlife.

Climate change will have an impact on global temperature. Greenhouse gases, emitted by power plants, automobiles, and fossil fuels, are keeping more heat in the Earth's atmosphere. This heat trapping is causing average temperatures to rise all over the world. “During the 20th century, the Earth’s average temperature rose 1°F to its highest level in the past four centuries this is believed to be the fastest rise in a thousand years” (NASA Global Climate Change, 2014). This increase in temperature is projected to rise year by year. “As temperatures rise globally, droughts will become frequent and more severe. It also raises potential harmful effects for farming, contaminated water supply, and future health conditions” (nature, 2014). Hot temperatures and dry conditions also increase the chances of forest fires.

As the Earth warms sea levels rise. Melting glaciers add to the problem by dumping even more fresh water into the oceans. “The IPCC estimates that melting ice caps and glaciers accounted for about 25% of sea level rise from 1993 to 2003” (edf, 2014). In conclusion, climate change will have a significant impact on global temperature, sea levels, human diseases, and wildlife. If climate change isn’t slowed down our future children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren could be living in a world of sultry heat, flooded cities and air that can cause deathly diseases.
