California has a diverse landscape that includes sandy beaches, mountain ranges, and redwood forests. It also has vibrant cities that are full of excitement and adventure. Some of its major attractions include Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Death Valley in Eastern California.
Other interesting places include Venice Beach and the Big Sur Coastline. However, some attractions are more suitable for family trips than others are. For example, Death Valley is one of the hottest places in the world and therefore, it is unsuitable for kids especially toddlers. Here are some family friendly attractions in California.

Among the many things that individuals enjoy doing with their families, visiting amusement parks is at the top of the list. Sea World is a multi-billion dollar chain of marine animal parks, aquariums, and animal theme parks. Witnessing the interaction between the animals and the trainers can remind individuals of the beauty of nature and it serves as entertainment.

California has numerous interesting sights. Not only the big cities but the nature to. Approximately between California and Oregon states border lyes the California’s “best kept secret.” While other national parks, such as Yosemite National Park may receive nearly 4 million visitors, the Lava Beds National Monument attracts 130,000 guests. The Newport Coast structure that sits on the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Coast Dr. is one of many examples of Mediterranean-inspired architecture in Southern California. The building is clearly influenced by Roman architecture and stands out among the standard Spanish-looking villas and mission-type buildings. The structure lies near one of California's wealthiest neighborhoods, Newport Beach and acts as sort of a grand entrance to Newport Coast Dr. There are two of these structures which sit on opposite sides of Newport Coast Dr., framed by only a few palm trees and evergreens. Drivers passing along Southern California's coastline can catch a quick glimpse of these impressive buildings. The Newport Coast structure is constructed of concrete and painted a light beige. Eight thick columns support the extremely large entablature-like face of the structure. As architecture in a typically conservative Orange County, the Newport Coast structure dominates its surroundings.
In the 1800’s into the early 1900’s a man named John Muir began to explore the western American lands. He traveled down South and up North. But, when he reached Yosemite Valley, his life changed. As said in John Muir’s Wild America, written by Tom Melham, “Following the forest-lined mountain trails, Muir climbed higher into the Sierra Nevada: suddenly, a deep valley enclosed by colossal steeps and mighty water falls yawned before him. Spell bound, he entered Yosemite Valley” (79). Muir’s travels and adventures, highlighted in Melham’s book, explain this man’s love of the wilderness. Yosemite Valley was like a wide, open home to Muir, who, lived alone and discovered new landings and important later landmarks that create the aura of Yosemite National Park. Yosemite Valley was given to the state of California in 1864, part of the continuous idea of Manifest Destiny, later, in 1890; Yosemite became one of the first National Parks (“World Book”). Uniquely, the longer Muir stayed the more that he...
We are so fortunate to live in California and have access to so many of the properties operated by the National Park Service. There are thirteen national parks in California and I have been to seven of them. Enjoying the outdoors is something that is innate to our family. Even before our children could walk they were enjoying hikes through Yosemite in backpacks. This is an amazing fact that I learned from the map given to me in Sequoia National Park; “The only place Giant Sequoias grow now is on the west slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. The 75 distinct groves are found within a narrow band about 260 miles long and 15 miles wide, at its widest point.” (Sequoia National Park, 2012). Without the National Park Service protecting and maintaining parks like Sequoia National Park, there may not be any place like this for my children to learn about this beautiful country that we live
Their dream was to build an underwater restaurant, however, that dream transformed into a marine zoological park, expanding twenty-one acres of Mission Bay in San Diego. Their new plan was driven by $1.5 million, forty-five personnel, and many other variations of aquatic life. SeaWorld was visited by 400,000 tourists in its first year. As of 2014, SeaWorld has expanded its locations to Orlando, Florida and San Antonio, Texas (“History”). The orcas’ aggressive tendencies have led to many injuries and even deaths of trainers.
Although SeaWorld presents itself as a family establishment full of fun “educational” activities. However, these activities harm animals physically and emotionally.
Unless you live right next to the ocean, dolphin and whale sightings are extremely rare. Other animals, such as octopuses, tropical fish, and rays are barely ever seen in the wild. SeaWorld provides a unique experience by allowing us to watch these creatures along with many others and learn about them in an exciting way. For public schools, SeaWorld offers discounted tickets for field trips; the park provides ways for the guests to learn in an interactive way, which differs from a typical classroom setting, where children and adolescents struggle to sit still and listen to a lecture. If these parks were closed down, a valuable learning experience would be gone

The top places that are visited in Southern California include many amusements and popular site seeing. A few top places are Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Hollywood Boulevard, and Catalina Island. These are a few of the top attractions in Southern California. Ultimately where you choose to visit will be a personal choice.
Upon initial research of the rich heritage of California the two minority groups that stood out as especially influential in historic California and today’s society are the Native Americans and Hispanic Americans. To better understand and identify with these minority groups we must identify the common themes within their day to day life. By researching each culture’s common family traditions, religious beliefs, arts & entertainment, and language one can gain a greater appreciation of many different kinds of people, and in turn have more effective relationships in a multicultural society.

Arizona has first been explored by a European in 1539. In this year, Marcos de Niza, from Spain, explored parts of the area of Arizona. The area which is now known as Arizona was then inhabited by indigenous peoples like the Hopi and the Navajo. Marcos de Niza had met another peoples of the area; the Sobaipuri. There was a legend about the wealthy seven cities of Cibola; seven cities that would be in possession of valuable treasures. Marcos de Niza was informed about Cibola by an Indian informer. When de Niza returned from his exhibition, he claimed he had seen de Seven Cities of Cibola in the distance.
“Hotel California” by The Eagles has been the recipient of much speculation since its release in 1976. Although many other interpretations exist including some which claim this song to be referencing drugs, much evidence suggests that “Hotel California” is, at least partly, making a statement about the lifestyle of drug and alcohol users particularly in the large cities of California. As with many songs, duality of meaning exists in “Hotel California.”
