Today is the day you will be convinced! The kids of this school want to encounter something not many people have. Not only is it a huge experience, but a place where you can also learn. While it is a secret to many, the stories told about this specific place make others have a desire to go.
California has numerous interesting sights. Not only the big cities but the nature to. Approximately between California and Oregon states border lyes the California’s “best kept secret.” While other national parks, such as Yosemite National Park may receive nearly 4 million visitors, the Lava Beds National Monument attracts 130,000 guests. Not having many visitors lets this monument keep its nickname. The 700 caves that have been discovered are full
Carlsbad Caverns is a cool natural creation. With mystical bats lurking within and plus the beautiful land surrounding it. It isn't that well know so if people are looking for calm, pretty places on earth or even pretty states that aren't overpopulated and are very
I am sure almost all of you have either been to or heard of SeaWorld. Today I am going to tell you about what they do to their orcas that they are trying to hide. I chose this topic after watching a documentary called “Blackfish” that goes into the behind the scenes of how SeaWorld treats its animals. I have since done further research online to prepare for this presentation. This is an important topic because you should know what kind of company you are funding and behaviors you are endorsing when you go on your vacations to this destination. Today I am going to persuade you that SeaWorld is corrupt and maltreats its animals, specifically the orcas. First, I will talk about the specific way the orcas are treated and how it affects them
“Land of the free and the home of the brave.” This line has represented the United States for decades. These words were captured in The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key and since 1913, the United States has adopted The Star-Spangled Banner as its national anthem. We have used the Red, White, and Blue as one of our nation’s symbols. It has fifty stars, to represent the number of states we have in our Union. The military pledges its allegiance to the flag and the country which it represents at all costs. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave, and we are proud to show it.
School can no longer be held in a traditional setting. What would be the perfect place? Remember school subjects must still be covered but the how and where will be different.
Which leads into my third and final premise, changing the date will be a large step towards reconciliation and act as a demonstration that we have aspirations to make our country better. Many people claim that changing the date will not change history. Of course they’re right because nothing can change history. If we were capable of doing so, I’d like to think we would have done it already. Changing the date of Australia Day will not reverse the suffering that the original custodians of this land were subjected to. Nor will it abolish the iron fist of racism that Australia seems to be gripped by.
We are so fortunate to live in California and have access to so many of the properties operated by the National Park Service. There are thirteen national parks in California and I have been to seven of them. Enjoying the outdoors is something that is innate to our family. Even before our children could walk they were enjoying hikes through Yosemite in backpacks. This is an amazing fact that I learned from the map given to me in Sequoia National Park; “The only place Giant Sequoias grow now is on the west slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. The 75 distinct groves are found within a narrow band about 260 miles long and 15 miles wide, at its widest point.” (Sequoia National Park, 2012). Without the National Park Service protecting and maintaining parks like Sequoia National Park, there may not be any place like this for my children to learn about this beautiful country that we live
Yosemite and its history, young to old the story of an area of land that is doomed to be mined, forcibly stripped naked of its natural resources. In 1864 Yosemite land grant was signed into act by president Abraham Lincoln, the first area of land set aside for preservation and protection. Yosemite being a very important historical plot of land, some time ago president Theodore Roosevelt visited the park managing to disappear from the secret service with John Muir. Through the years the contrast of ideas between the industrialists and the preservationists have clashed, Yosemite’s history both interesting and mysterious but more importantly inevitable .
B. There are many national forests in Alabama as well as farming fields for deer to
It’s fall everyone and Halloween is coming.I would like to tell you that fall is the best season of all.
In general, California is very well known for countless things that make it a famous, notable state and establish their society. California is one of the most populated states in the USA with it’s 38.8 million people, and 10.1 million specifically in Los Angeles. It is the third largest state and would be the 34th most populated if it was it’s own country. There economy is centered on technology and finance as it contains most movie
There is no arguing Walt Disney practiced what he preached. In fact, he did what he did so well that people continue to bring others to see what he did to this day, that being Disneyland. First, we’ll start by learning about the background history of Disneyland. Next, we’ll compare Disneyland from when it first started to what it has developed into. And finally, we’ll explore all the eight parks and what they have to offer.
California is full of beauty, a beauty that is constantly glamourized, and falsely advertised. There is a constant battle against the stereotypes presented in the media, which have created a false image of this massive state. The media presents an insufficient amount of information about California that impedes the outsiders to fully understand the beauty of this state. The media focuses on the tourist attractions of California, like, beaches, Los Angeles, Hollywood, and San Francisco. Although these attractions are appealing, the spotlight should also highlight the impoverished cities, the cultural and geographical diversity. The diversity here in California is clearly visible, which is something that is not clearly seen all over the United
Laughter echoing, voices chattering, people began to gather on the front porch. Not many people actually talk and visit with each other now a days. In “The Front Porch,” Chester McCovey speaks of how garages have replaced the usage of the front porch. When I first looked at the short story, I didn’t realize how much people really did sit on the front porch all the time. I’m one of the many few people that still gather on the front porch. Today we teenagers might not even talk on the front porch, but on the beds of our trucks instead. My brother, friends, and I used to talk about all our problems or just about life itself. We’d crack up and would have a marvelous time enjoying all the memories we would recall. Actually, the front porch conversations
Hello everyone, I’m Christopher Segovia! My extra-curricular activities involve of training and hunting with wild caught Hawks and Falcons, training Homing Pigeons, and raising various species of reptiles. The person who has influenced my life would be the late Steve Irwin, he brought out my sense of adventure as well as exposing the truth and wonders of the animals that inhabit our planet, with this being said he made it very clear that extinction is a very vast and ever growing problem with in world today; since the airing of his show and since I was of age to truly understand his message it has been my goal and dream to bring awareness as well as a stop to the rapidly growing epidemic of animals facing extinction. My future plans consist
Amusement parks are by far one of the most thrilling places on earth. As you wait in a long line to get in park, you can hear numerous kids, adults, and tourist shouting off the top of their lungs due to a tremendous jaw-dropping drop on their beloved roller coasters.
