Andy Goldsworthy is one of the best artists because he has such a wonderful mind. He is creative with all his art pieces. I picked him because he enjoys working with nature and all his pieces are so beautiful. Also, not only is he a sculptor, but a photographer. He enjoys seeing how his art changes within time. He stated in the film we watched in class named Rivers and Tides, that all his work is temporary because they all deal with nature. I shall be discussing about Goldsworthy’s life, the reasons why I chose him and the wonderful benefits I received from taking this class.
The environmentalist artist Andy Goldsworthy was born on July 16, 1956 in Cheshire, England. Goldsworthy is not only a sculptor, but he is also a photographer. He currently lives in Scotland and continues to do his works there also. All of his works are based on nature. He uses from flowers to rocks. He is considered to be the master of balancing rocks. When Goldsworthy was young, he worked on farm doing manual labor. According to David Frankel, author of “Andy Goldsworthy” states that Goldsworthy became involved with being an environmentalist because he started working with Richard Long. Richard Long started to introduce his works that dealt with water, wood, flowers,

and other nature elements. Goldsworthy was simply amazed by the idea of working with natural elements. He lives for the moments that just happen. All of his work is temporary because nothing lasts forever. Chuck McCann, a writer at Florida State, states when Goldsworthy is creating a piece, he starts by examine hi surrounds and then seeks for the material he needs. Goldsworthy is the type of person that does a lot traveling. He has done pieces all over the world. With the works that are done by the sea, he stated in Rivers and Rides that his work is given to the sea and the sea will do even more marvelous things with his work. Goldsworthy claims that all his pieces are transient and ephemeral. In the film, I noticed that he would take pictures of his pieces right after it done, so then he can see how it changes when in time. He works with anything that he can get his hands whether it is twigs, leaves, rocks, ice, reeds and thrones. After high school he attended Bradford College of Art, where he started to develop his own style of art. He has over seventy exhibitions all over the world. Goldsworthy is known for working in unfavorable weather conditions and deviates from traditional sculptors by waiting for snow, rain, and seasonal change. The real work is the change of his pieces. I chose Andy Goldsworthy because I love nature as much or maybe even more than he does.
For instance, I fell in love with his work named Dandelion Line because it is amazing how the dandelions got in a line. When even though individuals say that Dandelions are weeds, I really do like how this piece turned out. I got inspired to recreate that piece. Also, Goldsworthy worked in farm labor and I know how hard it was to work in farm labor. Farm labor not an easy job because it is hot, dirty, and tiring. The fact that Andy got inspired by another artist is just very interesting. All of his works are really nice because even though the piece breaks down he never quits and keeps working at it and gets it to its desired
formation. Those things I learned in this class will help me in some aspects. For instance, it will help me whenever I look at piece by any artist. I will be able to analysis it like a professional. Also, I learned the different forms of elements that art has. For example: line, shape, form, color, space, texture, and value. I honestly didn’t know that value meant the light and dark of an artwork. And how much emphasis an artist puts into their work. I realized that some of the art pieces that seem so simply actually turn out to the hardest pieces to do. I value the hard work the artist put into all their pieces. I will be able to go into a museum and have confidence to criticize an art piece. Also, I will know what all the other individuals in the museum will be talking about when it comes to pieces. And also know what materials the person used and the overall visual effect the piece has. In conclusion, Andy Goldsworthy simply the best artist I have seen so far because I love the fact that he uses nature into his pieces. Also, he loves the change that happens to his pieces after he is done with them. From working in farm labor to being an amazing sculptor and photographer, Andy Goldsworthy knows how it is to be rock bottom.
The main theme of A Prayer for Owen Meany is religious faith -- specifically, the relationship between faith and doubt in a world in which there is no obvious evidence for the existence of God. John writes on the first page of the book that Owen Meany is the reason that he is a Christian, and ensuing story is presented as an explanation of the reason why. Though the plot of the novel is quite complicated, the explanation for Owen's effect on Johnny's faith is extremely simple; Owen's life is a miracle -- he has supernatural visions and dreams, he believes that he acts as God's instrument, and he has divine foresight of his own death -- and offers miraculous and almost undeniable evidence of God's existence. The basic thematic shape of the novel is that of a tension being lifted, rather than a tension being resolved; Johnny struggles throughout the book to resolve his religious faith with his skepticism and doubt, but at the novel's end he is not required to make a choice between the two extremes: Owen's miraculous death obviates the need to make a choice, because it offers evidence that banishes doubt. Yet Johnny remains troubled, because Owen's sacrificial death (he dies to save the lives of a group of Vietnamese children) seems painfully unfair. Johnny is left with the problem of accepting God's will. In the end, he invests more faith in Owen himself than he invests in God -- he receives two visitations from Owen beyond the grave -- and he concludes the novel by making Owen something of a Prince of Peace, asking God to allow Owen's resurrection and return to Earth.
His pieces inspire in a way. They give you that thought of anything is possible, and you don't have to be normal to make clay. I have learned that there are many different wheel methods you can use. Such as folding the clay or distorting it in some way other then it is supposed to turn out. I learned that flaws in an artists work might not be flaws. I have noticed that in a art when something is different or unique from other artists work than they are noticed more and are much popular. In the future I will definitely be influenced to put more creativity into my work. It will make me think a lot more of how I can make my artwork and clay pieces different than others, and maybe unique isn't such a bad thing. Changing something up a little bit every once in a while isn't that bad. My perception of ceramic art has changed over the course of this year. Just making clay yourself will make you appreciate another's piece a lot more. Especially if clay pieces are basically perfect you will have a lot of respect for the artist of that clay. Learning about clay artists and the work did is just mind opening to what is possible. My perception has changed in a way that I will always judge a piece by its uniqueness and its ability to astound or make me question it. I'm very glad that when I spotted George Ohr I picked him. What I was very interested in this research was the fact that everyone thought he was

Artists have a knowledge of all the artists that preceding them, creating a visual vocabulary from the art that they have seen and understand. For Jean-Michel Basquiat, that knowledge translates into his work, despite never having formal training in an art school. It is his awareness and understanding of the culture that surrounds him that brings a layer of sophistication to his painting, setting it apart from street graffiti that has been painted on canvas. Basquiat’s Untitled (Julius Caesar on Gold) (1981) is a confrontation of his own identity that is created with the visual vocabulary of artists that preceded him.
Was F. Scott Fitzgerald's character Jay Gatsby really great? No, Jay Gatsby isn’t all that great, he is a man who will stop at nothing to get back a girl that he once loved and obsessed over. Some other reasons of why Gatsby failed was his, lies about his up and coming, his wealth, and his role in Myrtle's death.
While his life was building up to the moment he became rich off of his creativity, it helped him become the man he is today. No matter how unique his life has been, one thing has been a constant in his life, along with many others; He was influenced by the color and personality shown through a piece of art, which was the intent in the first place.
Each of the artists mentioned here met Andy Warhol at different phases of his career. While the majority of them were seen at the infamous Factory, some came both before and after. Regardless of where they met and knew Warhol, they each had their own individual lessons and impacts. Jean-Michel Basquait was perhaps the last artist to come around and really know Andy Warhol. Julia Warhol was certainly the first. In between were very many amazing artists, almost too many artists to talk about. The most important, of course, have been mentioned in this paper. Andy Warhol is a man still impacting art long after his death. His visionary style changed forever the face of both commercial art and gallery art. Hopefully this paper communicated a bit of that genius.
Although Andy Warhol was never never one of my true favorites, I respect him both for his talent and what he did to change our culture and the way we view art today. Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup series was a string of important pieces that I believe caused these positive changes within our society.
Andy Warhol was one of the most famous and successful graphic artists in the last century. His iconic paintings and prints are still remembered and noted today. If you see a brightly colored illustration of a celebrity, who do you think of? Andy Warhol, who was known for his portraits and product-based art work. Even looking at something as simple as a Campbell’s Soup can can trigger the thought of the 60’s artist.
of human minds, and able to express true emotion into his art that very few artists could ever hope to portray.
This quote, by Stanley Milgram (1974, p. 205), exemplifies the debate that exists around the topic of obedience. Obedient behaviours have been studied in Milgram’s famous obedience experiments, and evidence of atrocities being carried out as a result of obedience can be seen in situations such as the holocaust in World War Two (Mastroianni, 2000) and more recent events such as (My Lai). This essay will explain both sides of the debate, arguing for situation and individual factors that influence people to behave in particular ways. Therefore, an interactional approach is argued here, that the situation and individual influences cannot be disentangled. A brief explanation of Milgram’s baseline study (1963) will be introduced first, before evaluating the different interpretations Milgram held in later years. These evaluations will be used to display the opinions held about both sides of the argument, in which the situation and the individual person both play an important role in how a person will behave in regards to obedience to authority.

On April 4, 1965, Robert Downey Jr. was born in New York. At a very young age he began acting. In the 1980s he started his appearances on Saturday Night Live. Given the amazing life he was offered, he struggled trying to pursue his dreams. Although he had a great life a head of him, it was slowly deteriorating at the same time, as he struggled with the use of drugs.
