There are many different kinds of addictions like addiction to chips, soda, alcohol, drugs, etc. My addictions is soda, I drink soda once or twice a day. This is something I cannot help but to crave it when I eat lunch or dinner. Soda is very bad for the body, it has a lot of sugar. What are the solutions for this? Well first of all I have to realize the things that happen when you crack open a can, I have to drink more water than soda, and learn methods to do so the soda will not harm my teeth as much. In the video “what happens to your body when you drink a can of coke,” it say that in the first 10 minutes you consume this 10 teaspoons of sugar will immediately hit your system. We don’t vomit it as soon as we drink it because of the phosphoric acid (it allows you to keep it down). 20 minutes into this blood sugar happens and causes the insulin to burst and out liver turns the sugar into fat. 40 minutes your pupils dilate and blood pressure rises and more sugar into your bloodstream. In 60 minutes, your urinary tract increases, and you start to have a sugar crash. …show more content…

Wisconsin Dental Association states that “Sugar in soda combines with bacteria in your mouth to form acid, which attacks the teeth. Diet or “sugar-free” soda contains its own acid, which also can damage teeth. Each attack lasts about 20 minutes and starts over with every sip of soda you take” (WDA). Soda causes tooth decay too, who wants tooth decay I sure do not. Brushing your teeth after you eat and drink soda (wait an hour) can help you prevent tooth decay as well.
