What did you learn about your eating habits while completing this assignment?
While completing this assignment I learned that my eating habits need improvement as I am not meeting the daily recommended daily servings for the 5 food groups. In addition, I am eating foods that I want and crave instead of foods that are healthy, nutritious, and hold nutritional value. For example, over the span of 2 days I realized that I have consumed quite a bit of fried food and not enough vegetables and fruits.
Furthermore, I learned that I usually begin eating healthy in the morning such as eating a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats, a few sticks of mozzarella cheese, and a cup of orange juice or low fat milk. However, once lunch time came and I was in a rush to return back to work, I noticed that I stopped at McDonalds one day and Beef O’ Brady’s the

For example, my daily calorie goal was 1330 calories and I ate exactly 1330 calories on day one and 1250 on day 2. This is a positive element because I did not go over my caloric goal nor did I go drastically under. In addition, the general saying is that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I consumed a healthy breakfast each morning. For breakfast it is important to aim for a meal that combines good carbs, fiber, and protein in order to be energized for the rest of the day. On day 1 I ate a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats, 3 slices of turkey bacon, mozzarella string cheese, and a cup of milk. On day 2 I ate a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats, 2 sticks of string cheese, and a cup of orange juice. I believe this was a positive element of my dietary intake because I felt energized and could finish the work day without feeling sleepy or needing to drink an energy drink. I naturally felt refueled and energized by simply eating a healthy
For this part of assignment, I kept record of two consecutive days of what I ate for that days and how much calories I got from that food and drinks. Every day I usually start routine with drinking water which I think is the most important thing for a healthy lifestyle. Apart from this, I learned some following main points to help me by comparing my food chart with the recommendations
Throughout the Diet Analysis Project, I was able to analyze and inspect my diet to examine what I was eating, what types of nutrients I was getting and how much exercise I was participating in over a week’s period. Through this period, five of the days were back to back and the last two was a weekend day. I then compared all aspects with my recommended levels of nutrients for my dietary recommended intake and the calories burned through exercise versus my calories consumed through what I was eating. I needed to ensure the nutrients I was getting would allow a good fit for staying healthy and reaching, but not overextending, my needed nutrient levels. I found some very interesting facts that pertained to my diet that were good and then some
The purpose of writing this paper is to discuss the pros and cons of my diet. The nutritional analysis have thought me that my choices are not terrible but they are not the beast. However, a healthy lifestyle is necessary if I want to enjoy this life without health complications. Always Including some form of vegetable, fruits, and carbohydrates in my diet is ideal. However, that may not be on a regular basis and the portion might be too small to make a difference or too much to cause harm. I have learned how many grams of fat, saturated fat and protein should be consumed per day by my body.
Proper nutrition is important in maintaining a long and healthy life. Most Americans are rushed due to their busy work schedules, and do not take the time to plan their diets properly. Like me, most Americans are unaware of the importance of eating a healthy diet and consume too many foods without the proper nutrients. Throughout my life I have been fortunate. I have not had any major health problems, and have been able to consume most foods without having to worry about gaining weight. These last two years, however, I started to gain weight and have become concerned with my diet. Changing my poor eating habits has been difficult for me, however, having this assignment has taught me that it is not as difficult as I previously imagined.

However, it is only in the past
Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I can change in my intake of foods to make my diet healthy and to see what about my diet is affecting me from being healthy because I could affect me in the future.
One of the reason’s why I felt my nutrition needed to changes is because nutrition is a huge part of a healthy lifestyle, the way that we eat and what foods we consume can have a huge impact on our everyday lives. Nutrition plays a huge role in multiple facets of a person’s life energy, health, skin, weight, confidence, and more making having a good control on your eating habits extremely important. How we eat over the years and what foods we routinely choose to eat can eventually have a lasting effect on use and what we consider to be most appealing and appetizing at any given moment. Having these craving and routine habits makes eating, diet, and nutrition both a behavior and a lifestyle choice that can be changed over time with help from the theories learned in this class.
Ethical eating is currently an international trending topic. Many people from around the globe are considering their options regarding food sources, humane foods and ethical preparation of food and its origins. After learning how to prepare meatless meals in their kitchens, new vegetarians find cooking to be easier and more enjoyable than when they prepared meat in their respective kitchens. There are many studies that reveal the positive attributes of vegetarianism. What about ethical eating options? What does ethical eating really mean? Several nutritionists and scientists

Mindfulness unlocks your senses. It is the practice of being fully aware of what is happening within and around you in the moment. This is not easy to do! Practicing mindfulness helps people make better choices in regards to what and how they eat. There is a lot to learn here, but taking simple steps like noticing the smells, temperatures, textures and tastes of the foods in your meal is a good place to start. Mindful eating also requires you to reduce distractions such as physical, mental, social and emotional ones. People often find that they enjoy their food much more once beginning more mindful approaches to eating. Mindful eating also seems to improve food choices, in both what and how people eat. It essentially reshapes your relationship with food and makes eating more enjoyable because you learn your reactions to food preferences, habits and tastes.
Eating Responsibly To eat responsibly means to know what you are eating and knowing what you are putting into your body, whether it is healthy for you or not. It’s a sad fact that the typical American diet (high in meat and processed foods) is not healthy. There are a lot of different ways to stay healthy, but it can also be very difficult to follow a good diet plan all the time. I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I have tried to eat well before all of my classes. I include the necessary protein of eggs and sausage, and include a fruit of some kind.
Doing so encouraged me to eat healthier food, such as more fruits and vegetables, as well as asking for smaller portions.
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
Previously to taking this class, I had never given much thought to my eating habits. I always thought of the way I chose to eat as one of those things I didn’t need to concern myself with too heavily now because I’m a young broke college student. The way I eat is pretty similar to the way most of my friends eat and when you live away from home, that seems like the norm for people in college. However, after applying what I’ve learned in this class to my life, I’ve realized that the dietary choices I make now affect not only my current health, but my future health as well. So overall, I would say that my eating habits are pretty bad, but I’m working on making them better.
