Growing up and attending Sauers has completely shaped me into the person I am today. Sauers allowed me to experience many experiences that most people never will experience or even think about experiencing. Attending school in such a closely knit environment, partaking in sports, and most importantly learning the word of God helped me learn my true values and appreciate the people I have in my life. All of these things went hand-in-hand in helping build my knowledge and attitude to be the very best. While at Sauers I learned perseverance, dependability, and the significance of loving all people, but most importantly of the three, loving all people. Attending a school with such a low enrollment, like Sauers, can be viewed as both good and bad. Personally, I loved constantly being with a small group of people all the time. I knew everyone who walked the school and had teachers that were continuously there for me to approach. By attending school in such a closely knit place I learned the significance of dependability. Growing up hearing and learning the word of God completely shaped my attitude towards other people to what it is today. I learned that hatred is unnecessary and befriending everyone was important, even those I was not fond of. I learned that opening up to others can help create friendships that could last a lifetime. Because of hearing the word of God and attending the small school of Sauers, I made friends with all my peers. Some of my classmates I learned to grow with at Sauers will always be my go-to people and my best friends. Kindness can really make a difference in a person's attitude. In “A Christmas Carol”, the Cratchits and Scrooge's nephew Fred show kindness to Scrooge, even though Scrooge showed quite the opposite to them. Or in “Thank you M’am”, when Ms. Jones makes Roger food and gives him money to buy his shoes, instead of reporting him to the police. College is not for everyone, although, everyone should have some form of higher education. "Should everyone go to college?" is an essay meant to inform students of the pros and cons of going to college. Owens and Sawhill state that the cost of a college degree may not be worth the money that students put into furthering their education. In their article, Owens and Sawhill use three different rhetorical appeals; egos, logos, and pathos; to persuade the readers to think consciously about attending college. Their argument was effective because it forces the readers to look at the overall college experience in different aspects.
The diversity meant that there weren’t cliques or groups, but that the whole school was a community of students that could rely on each other for support. I saw the same people that I knew every time I went to school and not new faces every day. The diversity shows that there are no discrimination and very few bullying. Everyone knew each other and this built a stronger relationship between the students and the faculty that does not exist in big public schools. With the small class room sizes, students had an intimate relationships with the teachers and this allowed them to able to open up and ask for help when needed.

Sunday school taught me valuable lessons from the Bible that I will probably never forget. Each camp that I went to has left memories and lessons that I will remember, that will be helpful throughout my life. Wind ensemble and the teen’s choir have been a way to express my praise to God through music. Teen’s group and youth group have both shown me that socializing and being around other people in life is important to know people who you can rely on if you need help. These groups and activities have been an important part of my life starting from my childhood. I want to be a part of them forever because I feel they define who I am. They allow me to be a part of a special community, and to express my praise to God in all that I do.
Would you consider going to a school where you learn year-round? Maybe this would be your ideal school, but, when would you get to have some time to go to summer camp, or get a summer job, or play a sport with games during the day? Schools with the traditional schedule may actually be a better choice, and not just because kids love summer break. Schools should have a traditional school year schedule instead of a year round schedule because there isn’t a significant difference between the students’ performance, and year round schedules make planning family vacations hard, make the teachers’ job more difficult, and are more expensive. Also, having a summer break allows kids to participate in activities that they would not be able to do on a year round schedule due to the shorter breaks.
Starting college is an intense and confusing event that plagues all recent high school graduates. It is like trying to run when all you can do is crawl, and for many freshmen, myself included, one can get easily overwhelmed by the daunting task of picking a major when less than two months ago some of our parents still packed our lunches for us every morning. The concept of entering college tends to be frequently skewed and expecting an eighteen year old to decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives, without having them actually experiment in different areas, has the potential to create a generation of adults who are aggravated and depressed in their careers.
What do you think about going to school year round with little breaks here and there, but not your traditional three month summer break? Year round schooling has been a decision argued with the government, teachers, principals and parents. Many kids and adults like to relax on their three month break. Many students are used to having two week winter break, one week spring break, and three months of summer break. Overall, one three month break would benefit than having three-week breaks broken up throughout the school year.
There is a lot of pressure put on high school students to go to college. Junior and Senior year of high school all students hear is ‘where are you going to college’ and ‘what are you going to do with your life’. Such questions can be overwhelming and cause a lot of stress for students. It’s been put into everyone’s minds that in order to be successful you absolutely have to go to college and get a degree. Not every successful person went to college. The idea of college can put a lot of stress onto a person when they think it is the only way to be successful, but it is possible to be successful without a degree thus students should not be pressured into going to college as soon as they graduate high school.
First of all, church has greatly influenced many different aspects of my life and caused me to be the person I am today. I have always been taught to treat others with respect and to treat them how I would want to be treated. This has caused me to try to be considerate of others' feelings and thoughts as much as I can. I also respect other people's property and take care of it just as I would my own. I have also been taught at church to respect those in authority including my parents, teachers, and elders. I also have participated in church activities such as choir and video production. This has helped me to improve my social skills by interacting with other people. These things have influenced me and made me the person I am today.
Society tells us that after high school we must go to college and get a degree if we want to obtain success. For me going to college was the goal ever since I was a small child. Everyone in my family has gotten some form of post-secondary education. With a family like that ever Since the early ages of childhood as far I can remember my parents and family member were just always big on telling me I have to go to college to keep to better myself. Currently there are many students tried to go to college and finish their degree. But some students don’t know what they should do in college and how to avoid the failure in classes. The failure will happen if you have no real goal or plan to finish it.
Should United States culture aim toward ensuring that everyone goes to college? Yes, United States should encourage everyone to go to college because it helps people get out of poverty and people explore in a career that could shape their lives. Some of the people want to have a good job in life and have a good salary to change their future. Additionally, college can help you become more independent and successful in life. Unless the country is willing to more fully fund higher education for all, ensuring that everyone goes to college is a dream.
Schools can give responsibility to students but never without a cost. Students should have to chance to prove their worth to schools and show how responsible they can be as adults. When students go to college classes as high schoolers they sometimes tend to have more free time during those times. If a child has enough responsibility to take those classes they should have enough to leave school and be trusted to come back to school after their free time is over. Although leaving school early is not something that is smiled upon it should be because some students are ahead and can work their schedule to allow extra time because of hard work in early years.
Education is an element that is the key to success, and today is not taken seriously enough. People are uninterested so they drop-outs in high school and some leave or flunk-out in their first year of college. So, what is it that’s driving students to drop-out? Students spend too much time and stress with a curriculum that they can’t seem to pass or stay motivated with, and the solution is to alter schools so that the students are encouraged and prepared to go forth through college. Knowing what the key issues are and changing the curriculum so that it prepares them for their futures, is what determines the success of government.
