To many, are taught not to judge a person by their appearance, and yet, experience has taught us that people with nice appearance tend to receive more and better opportunities. People will be accepted in a community because of how eclectic they dress, and people will be rejected from sororities because of how eclectic they dress. So it brings up the question, is appearance equally important to inner beauty? This is because how a person is perceived by others is based on how they present themselves. Humans are predisposed to judge others by their physical appearance, since visual information is the first kind of information people receive from a person when they first meet. When a hiring manager assesses an applicant's appearance at a job interview, the first impression can affect an interviewer's attitude toward them throughout the entire evaluation process. If the applicant made a successful first impression with proper grooming, and well-fitting clothes, then it is more likely that the manager will listen with a higher expectation of their abilities. According to the 2006 National Association of Colleges and Employers job outlook. Of employers responding, seventy three percent indicated grooming has a lot of influence and twenty one percent said it had a slight influence. Only 6 percent said grooming had no effect. Good grooming shows that the applicant value his or her professional image and take the job seriously.
