Entering The Medical Field: A Personal Statement

Coming from a low-income family household, my parents constantly emphasized the importance of education for a better and brighter future. Everyday I see my parents wake up early and get home late; sometimes one can tell their backs are aching, exhaustion is within the whole body and feel their worn-out roughness of their hands. Yet, they never complain because they are grateful with all the God has already blessed them with. They have set me great examples to go beyond my abilities to be successful and achieve my dreams. This is why I am motivated to enter the medical field.
Back when I was younger, I would often help my mother babysit children, and it was then when I discovered my love for children. As I continued to grow, I was first enticed with Sonography, then I became fascinated with the delivery of infants and wanted to be a midwife. Through much elaboration I combined my interests in the medical field with my adoration for children and decided I wanted to be a Pediatric Doctor. …show more content…

Upon graduating high school, I will be attending Paris Junior College, and work on completing the basic courses needed for a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. Afterwards, I will attend the University of Texas in Tyler or the University of Texas in Dallas in completing my bachelor's degree. After graduating, I will do everything possible to pass the Medical College Admission Test. My next goal would be attending UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas and earn my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree for pediatric practice. I know this will be a tough, challenging, and stressful journey, but I am really wanting to strive for this goal. My ultimate goal is to have my own clinic and possibly branch out and have different clinics in the state of
