Entering high school I only had one goal in mind it was be involved and fix all mistakes that were done my middle school year. I may not be a valedictorian but I have challenged myself by taking AP courses throughout my high school years. I am not fluently in english, but this is what has pushed me to be involved in my community. I have been involved in couple of clubs, and the highest position I have held was being the president of M.E.C.H.A, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan) club I am a field worker as well as my mother so during the weekend I go to work. After schools are my only chance to help my community so This when I go help in churches to prepared events, help during the events. School has
1. The Statement that best summarizes Nemko’s position is, “College is a chain saw. Only in certain situations is it the right tool,” because most of their argument talks about why college isn’t for everyone, and why more people should pursue an alternative path.
Next year, as I embark my first year at university, I hope to fully integrate myself into the community by getting involved in the Students' Union, joining the cheer team, volunteering where I can and making many new friends along the way. At university, I hope to maintain a high grade point average, granted that my education is extremely important to me and that I am extremely ambitious about achieving my goals. Therefore, I will commit lots of my time to my studies in hopes of being a successful student. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to being a part of the community by devoting my extra time to helping those around me. In classes, I intend on being an active learner, a respectful student, and a helpful classmate; someone who is always willing to lend a hand to others. Through engaging in my community, I hope to bring joy to others around me by spending my time supporting local events, volunteering for fundraisers, and helping plan and organize campus activities.
These goals have been in part influenced by my childhood and Hispanic Heritage. Had it not been for the vast efforts of my parents I may have never had the chance to receive a quality education or even vision post-secondary options. When I was two years old my father was in an accident, he had fell two stories at work. This accident left my dad in a coma for 17 days and in a vegetative state. I was little at ...
I have always considered myself a very promising student. I have worked extremely hard and received high grades. I have a close knit group of friends and my teachers and I have mutual respect for each other .Although I would consider myself at this present stage ‘fulfilled’ something was missing. I realized it wasn’t a materialistic aspect of my life. Through a tragic incident I finally discovered what fit perfectly in that vacancy. The consecutive hospitalizations of my grandparents evoked great pain and sorrow. However, out of the scorching intensity of this tragedy I was warmed and comforted by realizing what I was devoid of: community service.
According to Randall S. Hansen in “25 Tips to Help You Survive and Thrive Your Freshman Year and Beyond,” the transition from high school to college is not a big deal if a student follows these tips that can help him to survive in his years as a student. In addition, Hansen claims that it is during this time where many students make critical decisions that will produce a big effect all the rest of your life. In my personal opinion, I think that Hansen is totally right. In general, these tips are helpful for any student that want to improve their classes quickly.
My mission statement for 8th grade is to pass and succeed with a 3.75 to a 4.00 GPA. I have my family that can give me love and inspiration. My family has taught me so many things to become a hard worker at school.
Cliffside Park High School has offered me numerous opportunities. I took honors courses in English, mathematics, and science ever year. In addition, I have taken three years of Spanish as a third language and an advanced placement class for U.S. history. Throughout the past couple years; I have been able to sustain a high grade point average of about a 4.4 (based on calculations made at the end of sophomore year) and make High Honor Roll for almost every marking period. However, my journey to where I am now was not a perfect yellow brick road. Instead, it was a path with many twists and turns that led me through many dark and awful experiences. Juggling all these courses was something I had adapted ...
As a student, I am an active participant in my academic and extracurricular activities. My first priority has always been to make good grades and learn in school. Although this is important to me, I also know that by participating in clubs, sports, and after school activities, I will become a well-rounded student. During the past years of my high school career I have participated and received awards in the following: Cheerleading (eight years), twice as captain, '97 -'98 Varsity Letter in Cheerleading, '98 AIM scholar, Who's Who Among American Cheerleaders, and '98 Academic Excellence Award while participating in Virginia High School League Interscholastic Activities. I also belonged to the following clubs: S.A.D.D. club (two years), second year as secretary, Pep Club, Varsity Club, Choir Club, and Computer Club. In the year '99 -'00 I received awards in the following classes: Computer Applications, Spanish I, World Geography, and Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry. I also received an award for Most Encouraging Student. I currently belong to the Hiking and Outdoor Club, Ski Club, Pep Club, and Environmental Awareness Club. In addition, this year I participate in a program called Read With A Friend. In this program I, along with a group of other students, go to the near by elementary school to read to a class of students from kindergarten to fifth grade.
Now I will be attending high school the stress that I needed to do good so that I can get accepted to college and make my parents dream come true was overwhelming. I knew from my teacher said that college was looking for well rounded. So I decided that I need to join as much clubs and activities that I can. The four year at Verbum Dei High School has truly modeled this idea. There were clubs that I truly enjoyed being apart like ASB (Associate Student Body), Mayor Youth Council, Ambassador. There was clubs that I join just because like for example Green Club. I wanted to show colleges that I was truly active around campus. I also wanted to show college that I was involved in sports. I
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
High School is an important part of one's life. It sets each and every student up for the future, their future. Every student knows this is the main reason why we are here but also to learn the basics of studying, working hard, and being able to be attentive. These are all skills that we need to apply for the future. Teachers tell us that they are preparing us for the difficulties that come along with going to college. Most students need to go to college in order to make a good amount of money. There aren't many entry level jobs that pay well without going to college. This brings us to the application portion of college and jobs. No matter what job or school you are applying to, community service will always look great on your application. And while you're at it, community service
Ever since I was little I’ve been what you would call a “high achieving” kid. I did well in school, I did well in sports and I did well in my community. I was always the first one to class, and the last one to leave the field. I was the kid that all my friends’ parents compared their children to. I was the kid with a room full of trophies and awards. In my mind, the worst possible thing I could do was disappoint the people around me. In elementary school I was involved in every club imaginable. I was in the band, I played in the orchestra, I sang solos for chorus, I was in the math club, I was president of student council, I played travel soccer, I was involved in every activity possible, and I excelled in all of them. This
School plays an important role in our lives. Many people will spend more than fifteen years at school in order to get the qualifications that are required to work in a specific field. Those years are broken down into several levels, some of them being more enjoyable than others. Two very important levels that people go through are high school and college. Even though some think that these levels are almost the same, there are significant differences between them. The cost of high school is not the same as the cost of college. Also, some differences apply from an academic point of view. Typically, the social environment also differs from high school to college, which can be related to the question of freedom versus responsibility.
First I’m going to talk about my high school goals; yes I would like to graduate from high school. Some of the things I am looking to do while in high school are to take as many health science classes as I can. The grade point average I want by the time I leave high school is a 5.0 or higher. To get a grade point average this high I would have to take honors or advanced classes. This year I did not take honors or advanced classes because I didn’t really know you could sign up for them and it wasn’t a big deal to me at the time. Next year I definitely want to take honors classes and maybe by the time I’m in eleventh grade advanced classes. Another thing I am looking to do during high school is get involved. I want to get into clubs and activities with the school. Colleges look at not just your grade point average but also if you were active while in school. Now this doesn’t mean you have to be an athlete you can get involved by joining some clubs and activities during school. A main goal for me is to make new friends while in high school and all the way through my life.
My goal to do everything started in 9th grade. I was new to high school and I wanted to take risks and join clubs. I decided to join the drill team, the step team, the oratorical club, and the math counts club. I was able to maintain my grades while participating in all of these groups. My JROTC instructors observed how motivated and balanced I was and I was soon promoted to be on staff,...
