Engineering is the application of science and mathematics to construct innovative designs using natural resources to benefit mankind. Mechanical engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design and use of machines. Mechanical engineer’s main objective is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace. In other words, they create and plan the idea on paper, design the idea so it can sell, and then ensure that the machine functions safely and efficiently. It requires a vast amount of skills and knowledge to design these machines. Some examples of skills would be; understanding the forces and thermal environment a product may soon encounter, analyzing, and designing objects …show more content…

Both mechanical and automotive disciplines are very similar except for the fact that automotive engineering only specifies in automobiles. Automotive engineers design and develop vehicles; and their subparts. From the engine and other subparts, to the model and look of the vehicle. Engineers in this field can design new vehicles or improve designs of existing ones. An example of improving the design would be changing the dynamics of the car because it helps the aerodynamic drag forces. Fluid mechanics is an area of knowledge these engineers must know because it plays a great role in vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks. It deals with the flow of fluids depending on forces acting upon them. ThinkDesign Engineering, and Gamma Technologies GT-SUITE are the design software’s used by these engineers. It takes many engineers to build a vehicle but the main designer is the automotive. Working alongside the automotive engineers are the testing engineers because they examine certain checkpoints the project must pass to proceed accordingly. These engineers must create designs that fall within a budget. When the budget is passed, the profit from the project is …show more content…

The sole purpose of it is to create or modify products that can benefit humanity in a variety of ways. Such that includes tweaking vaccines to make them more effective. Biotechnology engineers work in areas such as, healthcare, agriculture, etc. They are the ones who help us to physically create these products. Their work depends on their area of expertise. Modern biotechnology today includes LCT (Living Cell Technologies)’s newest and most unique way of aiding those with Type 1 diabetes. The process includes the transmission of live insulin producing pig cells to patients with Type 1 diabetes in New Zealand. This is also known as xenotransplantation, the process of transferring organs between two different species. Of course, the process is not as smooth as it sounds, before planting this pig cell into the patient, they first have to remove the cells from the pig’s pancreas and put them into a specific seaweed-based coating so that it doesn’t have a negative effect on the patient’s immune system. The patient will then have the ability to inject the finishing product, called DIABECELL, into their body helping them control their sugar levels. This biotechnological innovation is just one of the many creations to come that will change the way we deal with problems in the
