“The End of the World”
This piece is called “El fin del mundo” or in English “The End of the World.”
The original creator is Jose Gutierrez Solana. The painting depicts a point in of a story
where the end of the world has come. This painting is classified as an expressionism
style. I chose this painting because I thought it was interesting to see how the end of the
world would to the eyes of someone else. And how his background made him paint
things like this. It gives the sense of the artist being very religious trying to show what
could happen if the world was to end. All of these things drawn would happen to those

people living there. This is somewhat a typical painting by Jose. It is said that he
likes to paint in dark colors so they have a darker more serious atmosphere. This
was the Case because he lived to see both great wars and even a civil war in his
own nation. Which really hurt the poor in Spain. So they started to become the
focus of his art. Recreating bars, brothels, stadiums, ports and other things that
you would see the poor hangout at as entertainment. But it is said that this picture
was a drawing of a fishing/trading port near his home at the time. Of course he
used his imagination and a story from the bible to depict what it would look like if
the world suddenly started to go into ciaos. But this was created around 1932.
My First impression of this piece was completely different then it is now.
Since I didn’t read the title at first I thought this was like a scene from a movie.

Wayne, transforms this painting into a three dimensional abstract piece of art. The focal point of the painting are the figures that look like letters and numbers that are in the front of the piece of art. This is where your eyes expend more time, also sometimes forgiving the background. The way the artist is trying to present this piece is showing happiness, excitement, and dreams. Happiness because he transmits with the bright colours. After probably 15 minutes on front of the painting I can feel that the artist tries to show his happiness, but in serene calm. The excitement that he presents with the letters, numbers and figures is a signal that he feels anxious about what the future is going to bring. Also in the way that the colors in the background are present he is showing that no matter how dark our day can be always will be light to

Once they vision the scene in their head, they can better relate it to one of their own family barbecues or holiday celebrations. They can now see that Hemphill and his family appear to be happy and like to spend time bonding with each other, like most other families.
Spain was a global superpower in matters of wealth and their successes stemming from the arts and academia to travel and territorial conquests. Of these accomplishments, their most prized achievement was acquiring a heavy portion of Latin America where their influence originated from the northern borders of Mexico deep into South America. They abused the resources they found, cheated the natives all the while demolishing their culture and population. In turn this gave birth the rise of a number of rebellions by the oppressed against the conquistadors to take back the land and implement laws and social standards that benefited the people and return to them the rights that they had been stripped of.

The first painting analyzed was North Country Idyll by Arthur Bowen Davis. The focal point was the white naked woman. The white was used to bring her out and focus on the four actual colored males surrounding her. The woman appears to be blowing a kiss. There is use of stumato along with atmospheric perspective. There is excellent use of color for the setting. It is almost a life like painting. This painting has smooth brush strokes. The sailing ship is the focal point because of the bright blue with extravagant large sails. The painting is a dry textured flat paint. The painting is evenly balanced. When I look at this painting, it reminds me of settlers coming to a new world that is be founded by its beauty. It seems as if they swam from the ship.

The Fragment of a Fresco is a piece that is perfectly balanced with equal proportions divided directly in the center. It is an illusionary view shown through two panels that appear as green tinted glass. Within these panels are scenes of the world outside as if looking through a window. Looking into the left panel, one can see a square temple with ornamental sculpture surrounding the roof. An intricately designed columned porch runs deep alongside the temple. In front of the temple at the base of the panel, is a group of men or boys displaying gestures of joy and happiness. The right panel is filled with a cluster of various buildings including a round temple. The depicted buildings display a view of the elevation and complexity of the design of the city. The buildings are painted using an elaborately layered style that utilizes shadows to show the depth of the city. The upper portions of both panels have faded to the point that the scenes are completely obscured. Directly surrounding both panels is a red border that is plain and non-decorative. Dividing the fresco into the two individ...
When the religious art leaks out of the religious community and into the broader world of culture, it is one of the ways the meaning of the art can evolve. This is also an opportunity for the art to draw the world to religion. Moreover, artistic reinterpretation of sacred imagery can help keep religion honest. The church has always been enriched by the tension that comes with diversity in art. Art is communication and effective art communicates effectively to any group at any level.
