Juvenile prevention programs are an essential part of the justice system that provides a duty of keeping rising tennagers for the future out of the system. As these programs work to help the adolescent group, there are many programs that start early with prevention for crimes. These programs are called Early prevention Programs.
Early prevention programs are strategies that are designed to provide activities that mold behaviors for future and present actions in early ages (5-12), some are in schools while many other programs meet in areas not affiliated with the school. Lots of these programs are oriented towards students in elementary schools to start good behaviors of in children.
High Scope Perry Preschool study, a study that investigated the after effects of participating in a early childhood program vs. children who didn’t participate in a program. The study was conducted using children from age 3 to 4 and then conducting an interview at 40. They found that out of 123 participants, 36% of the participants were arrested 5+ times by 40 that were in the program vs. 55% of the participants were arrested by age 40 without doing the program.These percentages show how these programs impacted the children’s morals and development of character, while their second data shows how much the community is benefited in certain areas (education savings, taxes on earnings, welfare savings and crime savings). This investment would serve to better achieve a reduction in crime and delinquency. This upgrade would be relatively simple since the current policy is similar to the Perry Project. Another very important reminder, and something that I became aware of through this project, is to always consider the individuals who will be impacted by this policy. The investment in their lives is extremely important because at the ages that early intervention deals with, they may not have anyone else to fight for them. The policy that is implemented should really have the best possible outcomes for children associated with it. education policies implement ways which child are taught to socialize early in life. such as early education has programs which teach children problem-to-solve techniques, planning skills and social skills. Sutton, Cherney and White (2014) state that youths involved in pre-school programs were more likely to graduate from high school, higher income and good job. and suggests that children involved in the early education program are less likely to commit a crime in the future and less likely to be arrested. play groups and peer support programs are developed to improve communication skills. These skills reflect on the behavior of an individual and decreases the risk of a severe behavioral problem (Brown & Putt 1999). programs like anti-bullying initiatives in schools and programs addressing violence reduction both aim to create awareness about crime (National crime prevention 2002). it also teaches children that violence is not something to put up with. From the perspective I have at this stage in my journey in the early childhood education field, I would like to share what I have come to value and believe in regards to early learning and care by looking at my philosophy statement. To begin we will look at the statement and highlight three key features and find out why they are important to me, then we will see what they will look like in my practice, and lastly we will examine these ideas closely by looking at where they originated. I am a 15 year old student from Waukon High School in Iowa, and I wanted to talk to you about child abuse. I think that child abuse is a terrible thing, and the people that do it should be sent away for a long time. The people that do it are terrible people because they abuse children that did not do anything to them. They should never gain their right to see their children, or be able to go near any children, and be with them by themselves, or with anybody else that wants to hurt children. The people that hurt the innocent children should be questioned and accounted guilty for child abuse. They could not be ruder and treat the children with more disrespect than they already do.

Criminal justice researches are currently focusing on the juvenile crimes because it believes that it is the beginning path for adult offenders and juvenile offenders will eventually end up in adult prisons. Most repeat offenders begin their “criminal career’ as juveniles (pg723). Therefore it is very important to provide juvenile with effective prevention programs. Juvenile programs can be very expensive and can cost taxpayers a lot of money, so having effective programs is very important.

The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, defines child abuse as a failure to act as a parent or caregiver which results in physical/emotional harm, sexual abuse, and in some cases death. There are many different types of child abuse such as emotional, physical, neglect, and sexual. With each type of abuse there are warning signs you can spot before it is too late. When a child is abused there is a huge possibility that it can cause them to have many long term effects.
