Researches in early childhood education have been found that a good leadership, lead the program to achieve the goals for the center as well for children and staff. Having a competent leader in the EC programs promote a peaceful environment for each person in the center/school. According to the article, how do they manage? A review of the research on leadership in early childhood by Daniel Muijs, The main factors that a leader in early childhood education should have are: good relationships with staff; a commitment to meeting organizational goals; a commitment to fulfilling the roles of an early childhood professional; acknowledging others’ strengths and weaknesses; a desire to extend their professional knowledge;

access to clearly defined roles and responsibilities; and responsiveness to the needs of parents. (Bloon 1997).
One of my goals in the Early Childhood Education field is to become a director in an early child development center, for this reason I developed this project observing how a professional Center Director daily routine is. I shadowed Ms. Brenda Patty. I started this experience having a conversation about what was her mission, vision and values in the early childhood education field. Ms. Brenda responded, “As a leader in the early childhood education, I am committed to developing innovative educational solutions. Through my leadership and passion, I will: Provide a safe, caring and enriched environment that promotes learning and the development of the whole child. Develop lifelong relationships, provide family solutions and enhance the quality of life for families. Provide a fun, challenging work environment that fosters teamwork, inspires excellence and encourages the contribution of all team members. Provide superior support and service to our school and leverage technology to develop innovative learning in the classroom. I will fulfill my mission with honesty, trust, a passion for excellence.”
