Each year, more schools have some type of dress code. Back in the 1940's women's dress code used to be dresses, stockings, hats, and gloves. Now in 2017 our dress code is shorts that must pass your arm and finger tips, we can not have any straps showing, no abdomens showing. Dress code should not be in schools. Dress code should not be in schools because teachers tell us to express who we are and to be ourselves but never give us the opportunity. On the first day of any school year you will arrive at school and staff will tell you ¨this will be a great year, do not forget to be yourself...¨ Nearly all schools have some form of dress code. Dress code can come simply from no cropped shirts and no shorts that do not pass your fingertips. There
are public schools who have uniforms. How do staff members expect us to be who we are when we have a dress code. With dress code we are losing our creativity and losing ourselves. Females are sent home for supposedly violating their dress code standards. They are sent home instead of staying in class getting their education. A punishment for dress code violation should not be sending children home. How do your children get their education if the only punishment for dress code is missing class? Students do not need to be sent home. Stop sending children home for the smallest violations. Keep your students at school. Those who disagree believe that dress code should be in schools because it ¨improves your children's grades.¨ The reason they believe this because they or their children have dress code at their public schools and it apparently helps their grades and prevents them from less distractions. When dress code comes into their lives they are most likely to succeed. However, this is not a valid claim because out of the 54 percent of schools The entire dress code debate is taking over the world and it is wasting our time. It is not helpful and is definitely not helping schools. No matter if you have dress code or not there are always students who break the dress code everyday and have no punishment but sent to the office to call parents and have extra clothes brought to them. It is ultimately important that we try our best to make sure dress code no longer exist in public schools.
