In 2009, two nasty employees that worked Domino’s Pizza did an awful act that every food consumer fears. These employees made a video where one employee puts a piece of cheese up his nose and puts it on the Italian sandwich. Then, he proceeds to fart on a piece of salami and puts it on the sandwich. The employee mockingly says, in about 5 minutes the sandwiches are about to be delivered (How to get fired from Dominos Pizza). The video quickly went viral, in just two days the video reached 250,000 views and a week later it had over 1 million views (Clifford). The word Domino’s had surpassed Pairs Hilton for the first time as a search word on the internet. There was a great deal of gossip arising on Twitter. People on Twitter were saying things like “oh my gosh, look at this …show more content…
In the first 24 hours Domino’s was making calls to determined who the employees that participated in the video were. Domino’s wanted the employees charged with a crime as soon as possible. The couple was soon identified and warrants were sent out for their arrest. The company did not publicly respond to the video immediately, hoping everyone would just forget about it and see it as a prank. But it became clear half way in the week that the controversy was only escalating (Gregory). Since the video was released on YouTube, Domino’s thought it’d be best to fight it back with a YouTube video of their own. After 48 hours, Domino’s finally released a YouTube video featuring the president of the company apologizing to the public. The president said “they would focus on their hiring practices to make sure that people like this don't make it into our stores." They also pulled together a social media team to watch and comment back to costumer’s questions. The social media watched Twitter and Facebook (York). Domino’s in the end, did not issue a formal press released but used the new technology to

Late May 2011, a YouTube channel by the name of ksawomen2drive posted an eight minute video. The first day it was up it became the most viewed clip in Saudi Arabia, and became so popular it started trending worldwide. Any non-Arabic viewer might have been slightly baffled by its popularity. To them it would merely be a clip of a woman in a hijab driving while talking to her passenger, and a poorly filmed clip at that. The hundreds of thousands of Arabic viewers however, saw something all together quite different. They were witnessing a crime take place, an act of dissent. The video gained over 600 000 the few days it was up, but was taken down following the arrest of the driver shown in the clip. Manal al-Sharif was that driver.
Millennials might become the generation that die before their parents, and it is because of health related issues. The U.S begun this unhealthy downwards spiral in the 70’s when kids started coming home to empty houses, and working people would come home very late and tired. People needed an alternative to cooking that was fast and cheap, which is where the processed food industry began and exploded. Now, most people would believe that the food industry is the most culpable. However, that person should have learned personal responsibility. This generation of 18 to 26 year olds could be the solution to this problem. Millennials are going to be the future parents and lawmakers who could improve the way health is viewed here in the United States. In order to fix this problem of obesity and obesity related diseases, millennials must take personal responsibility and make healthier choices, as well as pass on what they learn to future generations.
In the summer of 2012, the full music video of “Gangnam Style” was uploaded onto YouTube and was immediately a sensation, receiving over 500,000 hits on its first day and racking up millions of more hits in a matter of a week. By the end of the year 2012, the song had topped the music charts of more than thirty countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Being the first ever YouTube video to reach the milestone of one billion hits, the song took the social media by storm. These staggering statistics indicate how “Gangnam Style” was able to achieve a tipping point, thus igniting an epidemic. What made it go viral? The two main reasons responsible for the cause are the Power of Context and the Stickiness Factor.
Social media marketing is a simple option to add to the current promotional tactics being used by an organization. It is no longer optional; social media is mandatory for nonprofit organizations (Stengel). Studies have shown that many people think social media techniques complement traditional media; even more believe that blogs and social media influence the news coverage in traditional media tactics (Wright and Hinson 2008). There are a number of professionals that believe embracing social media is the only way for public relations to continue in the digital age. For example, Robert J. Key explains, “Public relations in the digital age requires understanding how your key constituents are gathering and sharing information and then influencing them at key points; doing so requires strategies that embrace the digital age” (Wright and Hinson 2008). Larry Weber, a renowned professional in implementing global public relations campaigns, also agrees that the communications world is moving in a drastically digital direction and in order to communicate effectively, one must understand this transformation (Wright and Hinson 2008).
Another thing that stood out was they way these fast food places treat their workers. Their policy of automation has created a whole group of people that do not have to think to do their job. These people – usually teenagers – are paid minimum wage to push buttons and do all of the jobs that used to be done by hand. It gains governm...
The Stella Liebeck vs. McDonalds Restaurants is one of the most talked about and well known cases in the last two decades. ...omer complaints with store employees. Customers would receive phone calls directly from their local store. This social technique improved customer satisfaction as well as bridged the gap between customer and employee. Finally, Domino’s wanted to personalize the customer experience. One way it achieved this, aside from the aforementioned, was by providing the name of the employee making the pizza as well as the driver. Though the company dealt with opposition from employees who did not want their names attached, eventually, employees began to see the benefits of the change. This new social architecture improved employee morale as well as established a more comforting environment for customers.

Two juicy meat patties coated with cheese, drenched in spread, topped with grilled onions, served with lettuce and tomato, all compiled together between two toasted buns – this combination is craved throughout the West coast. The fast food restaurant, In-N-Out, is known for their signature double-double burger, along with fresh, hand-cut fries and creamy shakes. Almost no one can resist the fast food phenomena. Due to the restaurant’s popularity, the drive thru lines seem almost endless, which leaves west coast natives questioning whether they can make the items on the menu themselves – and nonnatives questioning the quality of the restaurant. Both inquiries can be answered through the written genres: online recipes and yelp restaurant reviews.
