Operations Plan
The location of Dude’s Dog Day Care will be located in the town of Chester, Virginia. The location was selected as there are no other dog day care centers within a 40 miles radius. Chester is a small town and the closest larger city/town is Chesterfield which encompasses a large geography with most dog day care’s approximately forty five minutes away.
Ideally individuals would like to have a place to drop their pets on their way to work that is close to where they reside. Dudes will take over a lease on a building that is already established in a local veterinary business. This building was to open as a Dog Daycare center over a year ago but did not due to a family illness that prevented the establishment. This option

of having a fully equipped center developed along with all the permits approved by the county will make the transition to Dude’s Dog Day Care a very easy process top open.

The clinic will also provide discounted spay and neutering services for anyone who adopts during of these adoption days. kennels that can accommodate two dogs individually or one dog in a large kennel area. The outside area is composed of a 3 acre fenced in dog park area that is of grass that leads into a concrete area that is covered for weather conditions. We also have a complete in ground dog pool that is shaped like a dog bone that is only 2 feet in depth for cooling off on hot summer days. Our services will not include those of other day care or kennel facilities such as retail sales or grooming. We will offer baths as needed if the weather has been excessively messy while the dogs are in our outside play areas. This is how we feel we will be different than any other competitor as we will focus 100% on the care of your pet ensuring exercise and socialization skills while our clients are at work. Our goal is to allow our customers to feel at ease while they are at work knowing they pet will be well taken care of and not left at home all day. The environment that our facilities will provide for adoption events will be a positive place versus in a cold shelter. The animals will be able to freely run through the dog park with potential adoptees where they can see their personalities and how they interact with other dogs. Organization Plan Dudes Doggie Daycare will be set up as a Limited Liability Company. The first step is to review the requirements to register the business in the state of Virginia. In the state of Virginia a LLC must maintain a Virginia registered agent and a registered office (§§ 13.1-1015 and 13.1-1018 of the Code of Virginia). After a reviewed the different legal forms we feel this is the best option for our day care since an LLC all can be listed as members and also undertake management duties of the company. However; members are not personally liable for the debts unless we choose to file a personal guarantee on any loan secured for start-up cost (Allen, 2016). The cost associated with the establishment of an LLC is the registration of our business with the State of Virginia There is an annual registration fee of $50 for every year after the formation of the business (§§ 13.1-1062 and 13.1-1064 of the Code of Virginia). The main advantages for an LLC is really around the tax benefits and liabilities will pass through to the members (P. 321). In the article “Re-inventing the Limited Liability Company” some would challenge the effectiveness of the LLC over the years in this paper is that the original concept of the limited-liability company was originally a very simple and successful plan however over the years like corporations they have become corrupted (Tricker, 2011). A disadvantage of an LLC is that there are fees associated when the LLC must be formed. The taxing also falls on those who are the members of the LLC which will be taxed at an individual tax rate with having to make payments to the IRS (P. 322). Dudes Doggie Daycare will rely on selected outside services where we will work with our local attorney to prepare legal submits that are needed to be filed. Once per year Dudes will hire an auditing company to review our financial statements to ensure we have completed, filed and submitted all required legal documents and financial statements accurately. Additionally, we will ensure we have a partnership with our neighbor veterinary office next door to treat any of our dogs should they require attention of any kind from a medical perspective. The initial organizational team that we will begin with at Dude’s will include a Finance Manager, General Operations Manager, Kennel Supervisor, one intake part time employee , kennel part time employee and a Certified Dog Trainer part time The Finance Manger will be responsible for payroll, accounts payable, receivables, quarterly tax submissions and yearly reporting.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all employees and scheduling, and setting up new client profiles with execution of all contractual agreements. The Kennel Supervisor will be responsible for opening and closing of the facility daily as well as the intake of each dog daily. The Kennel Supervisor will be responsible also for stocking and replenishment of all supplies needed in the facility. In our textbook Allen references that many entrepreneurs will have a very basic organizational structure as compare to larger companies (Allen, 2016).
Dudes Doggie Daycare will be staffed with family members. The Finance Manager and General Operations Manager will both be paid an annual salary of $50,000. The Kennel Supervisor will be paid an hourly rate of $20.00 per hour with overtime paid after 40 hours physically worked. The hourly rate will support the additional hours required on the weekends or overnight boarders that could be required for a staff member to be physically on
sight. In the state of Virginia, the FLSA automatically qualifies certain types of workers who meet overtime pay requirements for guaranteed overtime for all hours worked over 40 in a single week (doli.gov.va). Our trainer will be paid a flat rate for each training session or classes scheduled. All earnings will be taxed on the paychecks appropriately. After the second year of opening we have not incurred a loss on our financials we will look at providing an annual increase to each of our employees. The type of business we are opening for Doggie Day Care services there is not current need have any type of outsourcing. The only outsourcing would be dog training classes we would offer which would be paying for the cost of the trainer which would be an added service to our clients.
I thought that the work place environment was very clean and very professional. On my pictures on the poster it shows you that they even had a place for dogs to go in and a separate place for cats to go in they also have different waiting rooms for each of them.
The hospital also offers clients the Banfield Optimum Wellness Plans (OWP), a preventative care package for comprehensive exams, vaccinations, parasite control, routine diagnostics, and unlimited free office visits (Services and Features, 2014). The wellness plans are offered for puppies/kittens along with adult dogs and cats and are considered affordable helping pets to remain healthy and happy. The wellness plan can be customized to the pets specific needs, with spay/neuter add-on, dental prophylaxis, and x-ray packages. Depending on the wellness plan (Esse...

No. The idea of doing this is largely a scam predicated on kenneling the dog so that the dog training company can charge you even more money. For example, as a skilled dog trainer, I can train your dog, and get him responding in a very impressive manner, in about two days. But when I give him back to you, he's going to say, "I've never had to do anything you say before! Why should I start now?" It's just like driving. I can build you a fantastic sports car, but if you don't learn how to drive it, it won't get you from point A to point B. You must find a dog trainer who will teach YOU how to train YOUR DOG!

Having a dog can be a great experience for people who enjoy their company. These animals are usually friendly and active; they are intelligent and can develop a strong relationship with their owners based in love and care. However, having dogs is a big responsibility for the person who owns it, because they are animals, so they cannot support themselves. Dogs need someone who can feed them, give them love, and someone who can make them exercise. Moreover, these animals need big spaces in order to run and develop their muscles, so the owner has to know that he needs to take a walk with the dog several times a day. Dog parks are a great place to take the dogs because it provides a space where they do not have to be with leash every time, while they can interact with other animals of their specie in a pet-friendly environment. Every city in the country should have at least one of these places, in order to help their inhabitants with their pets and because it is a good part of the life in community.
Ideally, pet supply would be equal to the demand for wanted pets. There may never be enough caring homes for all the pets as is evident by the fact that only about 25 percent of the pets in shelters are ever adopted. F...
A bus carrying several clinical students from the local college pulls up in front of the nursing home. The students begin to unload some boxes which contain puppies and kittens ranging in age from three to six months. Once inside, the students begin to pass the puppies and kittens out to the patients that are waiting expectantly in the recreation room. Some patients are alone, some are in groups, but all are delighted to see the animals arrive. As the animals are being passed out, the patients begin smiling, laughing, and talking to the animals. They stroke their coats, play with them, and feed them snacks that they have saved for this occasion. While the patients are interacting with other students and staff, two of the students begin making notes on the activities that are taking place in the room. The patients, staff, and students are clearly enjoying themselves, but there are greater benefits to be found here.
The use of dogs to assist in the treatment of physically and sexually abused children is an effective tool in the treatment and healing process. Animal assisted therapy, which includes the dog in the actual therapeutic process, allows a child to view the dog as a model and reassurance. The dog is a nonjudgmental entity, which augments the level of self-esteem the child is internalizing and stimulates their communication of feelings.
Call to Action: Challenge your audience to be a responsible pet consumer and not purchase dogs from pet stores or from the Internet. I encourage you to instead, adopt from their local animal shelter. At an animal shelter, you can find many amazing, healthy animals. If you do buy from a breeder, use extreme caution and ask to see the puppy’s parents. Also, please contact your congressional representative and encourage him or her to help pass the PUPS bill.
In today’s society the majority of households have a family dynamic where both parents need to work. It is nearly impossible for most families in America to survive financially without two incomes. This puts many parents in a situation where they have to find extra help to watch their children while they are away at work. “These days couples face complex negotiations over work, family, child care, and housekeeping. It becomes evident that where traditional marriage through the centuries has been a partnership based on mutual dependency, modern marriage demands greater self-sufficiency” (Hekker). Day care becomes a necessity for many families, and the main concern for most parents is if the day care will be a positive experience for their children. Day care can be a positive option for parents seeking help with child care as well as developmentally for the child.
