A SWOT Analysis can be powerful to any company. The SWOT analysis for PetSmart allows them to expose opportunities that otherwise could be missed ("SWOT Analysis," n.d.). An additional benefit of a PetSmart SWOT analysis is gives the company an understanding of their weaknesses, which can result in a competitive edge for its competitor. Understanding strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threat as a company will give PetSmart an advantage over a company who chooses to ignore this type of analysis. In addition, PetSmart can eradicate any possible threats that could catch them off guard ("SWOT Analysis," n.d.).

Lastly, another weakness we came across is that Pet Supplies Plus had a limited variety of pets for sale. We only saw snakes, fish, and a few rodents. Also, many of the glass cages were empty. They did not sell cats or dogs, or have an adoption center within the store, which we think could be detrimental to their sales or foot traffic. Although we only found a few, we feel that these specific weakness are extremely important and if worked on, Pet Supplies Plus could become a more successful and popular
The current health care system can be difficult to navigate and often medical centers need management tools to help them develop strategic plans within their organizations. The SWOT-Analysis is one strategic tool that health care centers can use to formulate a roadmap for their organizations. The SWOT-Analysis examines internal capabilities (strengths and weaknesses) and external developments (opportunities and threats) when determining a strategic plan for an organization (Van Wijngaarden, Scholten, & Van Wijk, 2012). Van Wijngaarden et al. (2012) explains for SWOT-Analysis to prove meaningful throughout an organization, it is important for stakeholders to be part of the brainstorming to identify its’ internal capabilities and external developments. However, there are a few drawbacks to the using the SWOT-analysis tool that are important for health care centers to remain cognizant of when developing their strategic blueprints. Helms and Nixon (2010) state the SWOT-Analysis can be vague and too simplistic when developing a strategic course for an organization; it can be difficult to classify variables into the four SWOT quadrants; and no definite strategic path is identified after the SWOT-analysis is completed. For these reasons, they explain it can be helpful to use additional analysis tools in addition to the SWOT-analysis. One such tool the U.S. Army Medical System uses is the balanced-score card. The balanced-score card can assist health care centers in the clarification of their strategic objectives and goals, and facilitates communication throughout the organization (Chan, 2006). Chan (2006) also reveals balanced-score cards allow for constructive employee feedback l...
“It depends on where people work usually, but the workers come in and check the pets that are in hospital that need additional care. Then in some way, workers have checklists for each hospitalized pet, so if they need medications, bandage changes, etc, workers can then keep track easier. Then workers go on to do medication for any animals that are boarding with the clinic in kennels. After that they check in pets that are coming for surgery or for a drop off exam/treatment.... ... middle of paper ...
When owners take their pets to the clinic, they are understandably anxious about the results and outcome of the visit. While it’s the veterinarian's job to provide care for the animal, it’s also their job to put the owners at ease, reassuring them that their pet will indeed be fine. This communication is vital for building trust, as it lets the owner know what is happening to their animal and gives them confidence in believing that everything will be okay. What’s more, veterinarians that take the time to thoroughly explain procedures and instructions regarding petcare, are teaching pet owners how to better tend to their
Located in Cleveland, Ohio, the Cleveland Clinic is an academic hospital that offers many specialties of medicine to its patients. The Cleveland Clinic also operates affiliated facilities across the world in Florida, Canada, Nevada, and Abu Dhabi. Four physicians started Cleveland Clinic in 1921 as a collaboration to share expertise in various specialties, allowing patients to come to one location for care. They also placed a high emphasis on the academic culture for advancement and improved patient care. A fire at the Clinic in 1929 killed 123 people, including one of its founders. The main facility has more than 1,400 beds and includes hotels on campus for those who are visiting or staying with patients.
By prioritising efforts that need to be made within the facility, this helps to reduce the chances of further infection being contracted in other areas of the facility. It facilitates in focusing treatments and control into areas that could cause further problems, both in terms of animal welfare and for the benefit of the owners; health issues that are economically important are dealt with first. Through further monitoring by veterinarians on these priorities, this means that those responsible for the actions needed, can focus and maximise the use of the available resources. This means that without priorities and set objectives, many useful resources could be potentially wasted, without leading to any successful outcomes, from which the actions of this health plan are
What is a SWOT analysis? This concept involves assisting businesses to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It is often used to analyze an organization and its environment. Businesses find the analysis useful in assisting them to improve their business, establish goals and objectives.

Many people in the world today suffer with problems such as anxiety and depression. As a way to treat these problems, those people should use animal-assisted therapy. Animal-assisted therapy (also known as pet therapy) is used in many hospitals and is growing more every day.
Strategic Planning results in a written document that serves as a blueprint to guide the organization towards its future goals, but far more important than the strategic plan document, is the strategic planning process itself.
