vet shadow day
When I first arrived “Lisa” The girl that I shadowed told me that there was an emergency with one of the animals. It ended up that a one-year-old beagle ate an entire thing of metabolite, and then slowly started to die. The liver had shut down, and the heart rate was up to 300. Lisa told me that taking a thing of metabolite was like taking 50 cups of coffee at once. The owners of the beagle were there and bowling. The beagle’s name was Murry. Murry's body slowly was shutting down one thing after another. The owners made the decision the dog was going to be put to sleep. We got the dog ready to be taken out. They undid all the cords from the dog so they could take it to another room. I said goodbye to the dog, and then they took it into the other room so that the owners could be there when they put him to sleep. After that happened they then had to put a sleep a little hedgehog that had cancer on its mouth. We then did two regular checkups with one cat and with one dog. Those when great. After that we had a dog come in and it ended up having an affection that might end up killing it. I never heard the end result. The last thing that I did there was that a black lab had been bitten by another dog, and that dog ripped a hole in the neck of the black lab. The doctors had to perform surgery on the dog to close up the holes in the neck. They first had to clean it out with qutips. And blood stated to come out right then I was a little dizzy and I thought I was going to faint. But thank god I didn’t. I saw a cat get dental work on it. And a cat get a bath and they had to blow dry it and brush the hair while it was a sleep.
I thought that the work place environment was very clean and very professional. On my pictures on the poster it shows you that they even had a place for dogs to go in and a separate place for cats to go in they also have different waiting rooms for each of them.
Veterans day means a day for us to thank the ones who have served in the military and war. Sacrificing every moment of their lives to defend our country. The Veterans have a significant importance everywhere. Whatever the reason is for them serving our country we should appreciate them for all their work. Veterans day was created because World War I ended . Fighting and wars did not end and are still going on and there are still Veterans out here today. Veterans day is a day to celebrate ones who were in war. Not to be confused with Memorial day , memorial day is when we celebrate the ones who died serving. People today in our society don’t take in consider the ones protecting us every single day. Who do you think fights for us and our country.
September 5, 1847, in Kearney, Missouri marked the birth of Jesse James. Jesse was brought up by a very renowned farming family. He and his brother Frank received a great education. His father, Robert James, ironically a baptist reverend, and his mother Zerelda Cole James. James and Frank joined the Confederate guerrilla soldiers when Jesse was 16. They were alongside William Quantrill and “Bloody Bill” Anderson. Some say the harsh treatment of the union soldiers turned James against the cause; forcing him to become a rebel. Though he was a criminal he is viewed by many in a very positive light and/or manner. His strategic ways and his ability to evade the authorities and bounty hunters is the notoriety. The folk tales about him stealing from the rich and giving back to the poor and in need is the legend. It is indeed a fact that he is a very controversial figure in American History. Views upon him vary per person, however everyone has and will speak about him regardless of their views. Many other old western criminals wanted to be him. However, none succeeded in fully becoming the phenomenon that is Jesse James.
which seems as if the employees don’t even want to be there much less happy and helpful.
Americans. To those families and especially my parents I thank you for understanding and standing with us. This day belongs to you as well.
I remember it was Freshman year [in high school] and all the upper class lacrosse girls told us to meet at one of the girl’s houses because we were going to go to a party. We met up there, and got into three different cars and started driving. The van I was in had 6 other girls in it and I was pretty good friends with the senior driving it so it didn’t take long for the senior to tell us that we weren’t really going to a party – and that we were going to go visit an abandoned insane asylum. I had never heard of Glenn Dale Hospital and the entire trip, we were told of how many unexplainable deaths used to occur at the hospital and how if you go there today, you can still hear the screams of the patients throughout the halls. I don’t remember what road we ended up on, but next thing I knew – it was all of us freshman walking through a long field seeing a large building in front of us. The closer we got… the slower we walked. We started talking about everything we had heard in the trip up. One girl mentioned that there are still bodies and papers left in the hospital and that the place was abandoned after the workers refused to keep working there after so many inexplicable deaths. Another mentioned that there are always cops patrolling the place and you can get arrested for trespassing. Ironically, as soon as the girl finished talking about the cop, we heard a loud voice from the other side of the building.
When owners take their pets to the clinic, they are understandably anxious about the results and outcome of the visit. While it’s the veterinarian's job to provide care for the animal, it’s also their job to put the owners at ease, reassuring them that their pet will indeed be fine. This communication is vital for building trust, as it lets the owner know what is happening to their animal and gives them confidence in believing that everything will be okay. What’s more, veterinarians that take the time to thoroughly explain procedures and instructions regarding petcare, are teaching pet owners how to better tend to their
Jesse Owens’s childhood began in Oakville, Alabama on September 12, 1913 (source 3). He lived with his father, Henry Cleveland Owens, mother, Emma Alexander Owens, and six siblings (source 2). When Jesse was a young boy, he was constantly fighting off pneumonia and chronic bronchial congestion which made him very vulnerable to diseases and sicknesses (source 3). Yet with many mouths to feed, everyone had to contribute. Due to their African-American race, the family did not get well-paid jobs. So at age seven, Jesse was forced to work in the fields, picking around one hundred pounds of cotton a day to get food on their table (source 3). Even with this hard childhood, Jesse Owens managed to get a decent education.
Jesse Owens was born on September 12, 1913. He was the tenth and youngest child. Owens was the son of a sharecropper and the grandson of a slave. Owens’ birth name was James Cleveland, so he was known as J.C. The name “Jesse” came from a teacher mispronouncing his name, J.C. As a child, Jesse Owens was often sick with chronic bronchial congestion and pneumonia. The frail child had a large fibrous bump pressing on his lungs, and not being able to afford surgery; his mother performed a makeshift surgery on him with a kitchen knife and removed the mass. Seven year old Jesse Owens, in poor health, was still expected to work picking up to 100 pounds of cotton a day to help provide for his family (Biography). At the age of 9, Owens moved to Cleveland, Ohio. His life in Cleveland was far different than his life in the south. In Alabama, Jesse Owens attended a small one-room schoolhouse. In Cleveland the one-room schoolhouse was replaced by a bigger school with more strict teachers. It was here that Owens got his nickname that stuck with him for the rest of his life. One of his instructors could not decipher Owens’ thick southern accent and believed that the young athlete said his name was “Jesse” instead of “J.C.” which stood for his birth name, James Cleveland (Jesse Owens Foundation).
Greece and Rome are two classical civilizations that built the foundations to western culture in the modern world, they have many similarities and differences that poses the question, which one is better? Two specific similarities and differences include social and religious distinctions. Greece and Rome show a similar religious foundation due to minor interaction in politics, and to their very similar Gods and Goddesses. Greece and Rome show a difference in their social foundations due to women’s standings, and slavery.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, written in 1885, is a literary satire written by Mark Twain. The setting of the novel takes place prior to the Civil War along the Mississippi River. This novel presents moral and ethical problems that southern culture placed on individuals during the time period it was written. Twain wrote his Realist period novel to criticize what he believed was wrong with the society of his time. Twain presented his novel through the eyes and speech of the twelve year-old Huckleberry Finn to show his criticism towards this society. Although the novel has been criticized since its publication, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is still considered one of the greatest American novels ever written. Twain uses Huck to create a satirical imitation of the early American culture of the South through the themes of social class, racism, conscience, and religion.
Gay Marriage has been debated in many countries for a long time. It interferes with citizens civil rights so is therefore a major issue. Many gay couples today have come out and expressed their sexuality. Although many people are against legalization of gay marriage, I believe it should be legalized for the reason that it encourages strong family values, leads to the increasing number of child adoption, and is a citizen civil rights.
James Cleveland Owens was born on September 12, 1913. His parents were Henry and Emma Owens, his dad worked as a sharecropper and both his grandparents were slaves. Wildfires in the United States have been increasing in frequency and duration since the 1980’s. This trend is projected to carry out and continue throughout the twenty first century. As the world wars wildfires will increase due to climate change and will be even more severe.
Wildfires are usually caused by careless humans or large lightning strikes. However, scientists believe that the wildfires that have recently occured have been caused by drastic climate changes. Areas have gotten hotter and drier than they have been in the past.
This review assesses the role of fire in ecosystem within theoretical framework of disturbance. Fire has essentially been considered disturbance which represents one of the oldest forms of interaction between human and environment. This review traces the history of fire and various types of interaction between human and environment in which fire has played a central role. There are total seven sections in this review. Followed by introduction to disturbance and disturbance regime, it discusses the fire as one of the disturbance along with major events in the history of fire. Fourth and fifth section deals with analysis of role of fire in shaping vegetation structure and its role as one of the forces of evolution respectively. The various uses of fire as a resource extraction tool have been highlighted in section six. The review concludes with highlighting the possible future direction of research in fire ecology.
