The author of one of my favorite book series Divergent, uses multiple different elements to intrigue the readers and develop her stories. Divergent is about a girl named Beatrice Prior who lives in a futuristic Chicago where the entire city is divided into five factions. Abnegation are the selfless, Erudite are the ones who follow knowledge, Amity are all about peace and kindness, Candor follow the truth, and Dauntless are the soldiers/cops. Beatrice was born and raised in abnegation but has never fit in like her brother Caleb. When your sixteen, you take a sort of test to see where you belong, but when Beatrice takes the test it’s revealed she’s divergent. Divergent is someone who doesn’t belong to just one faction. When the day comes to choose a faction, she chooses dauntless which is a surprise to everyone because almost no abnegation chooses dauntless,her brother chooses erudite which is later revealed as the people hunting her kind. After the choosing ceremony and over the next couple of weeks Tris, who changed her named after entering the Dauntless compound, finds friends, enemies, love. After getting first place in initiation an attack led by erudite tris has to infiltrate erudite to turn off the chips who are about to make her friends murderers. Tris succeeds, but her parents were murdered assisting her and she has to run along with Four(her boyfriend), Peter(someone who tried to kill her numerous times), Caleb, and Marcus(fours father who abused him for years in abnegation) i order to
