I agree that women are still undervalued, underrepresented and mistreated in terms of social and legal policy making, thus making the discrimination of women a prevalent concern today. In Canada women are the majority of victims when it comes to spousal violence (physical, sexual and harassment) representing 83% of all victims. If the statistics were reversed and this was happening to men there would have been laws in place to protect men years ago. Some laws have been put in place for women but they are mostly just band aids trying to cover up the bigger issue. For example the "Battered Woman Syndrome" defence has been put in place.
