Transformational leadership makes use of high energy, enthusiasm and passion to inspire and motivate employees. While this approach can work well in firing up the troops for a while, it does have limitations as a long-term leadership style. Empirical research supports the idea that transformational leadership positively influences follower and organizational performance (McCleskey, 2014). As an effective leadership model, transformational leadership will create an enthusiastic work atmosphere that will drive the organization with innovations. The fact that people are working through self-motivation, will certainly guarantee higher output and efficiency. It will naturally develop future leaders from the lot of followers. People will work for the leader, even if the monetary and other benefits offered are lesser, as they will be inspired by his vision.
