For the “Dirt on My Boots” by Jon Pardi music video, the filmography adds visuals to emphasize the story and the emotions expressed in the lyrics of the song. Something that you notice straight away is that all of the shots are black and white. This adds a very classical element to the music video. Though it’s not as vibrant as color, it highlights the lighting in all the shots. Before the song even begins a build up is created by the enhanced sounds of him washing his face, the clinking of his necklace, the pouring of his drink, as well as his heartbeat which is the loudest sound of them all, and its increasing rate as he gets closer to going on stage. Her clothing is made a nice material and she is wearing a blouse and riding pants as she escorts a horse out of the stables. She seems to be proper as you can see it in the way she carries herself and she is obviously well trained for horseback riding. A detail noted is that she rides English saddle instead of a Western saddle. English is more for sport for the higher society while Western is for work and what you typically think of when horseback riding comes to mind. For example, cowboys wrangling cows and sheep. The shots then go on back and forth between the two of them eventually she gains a nice wool sweater to her attire presumably because it’s getting later in the day. After she finishes horseback riding, she retires home where she spends a decent amount of time freshening herself up and getting dressed up possibly for a night out. She then proceeds to walks her way through a city area and into Jon Pardi’s concert. As she walks through the crowd she seems to stand out the most as she is emphasized by the amount lighting concentrated behind her. As Jon Pardi finishes up his concert it pans from to view from side stage as he proceeds to meet up with her side
