Direct Marketing is a modern approach to reach and retain customer by distributing the products, or information for the sake of promotional benefits. The main objectives of direct marketing could be the direct and quick responses.
Direct marketing techniques use various kinds of endeavor of targeted prospects using one or various media channels. This includes;
 Direct selling
 Direct mail
 Telemarketing
 Catalogue selling/marketing
 Television/print including brochure, leaflet etc
 Cable TV
 Text message
 Door to Door Promotion
 Promotional campaign etc

1. A first step is to develop the master financial plan to allocate the budget separately for different techniques in direct marketing. For e.g. Fixing up the selling price and the test budget.
2. Selecting the fitting product for promotion is another essential factor. Moreover, company has also needs to be careful on selecting the prospects and risk factor, including payments, price factors etc.
3. Choose the appropriate format to promote your business through direct marketing. It is mean that you have to either choose any of the techniques using the media channels that suit your company i.e message you want to convey/ spread, features that you want to tell to your customer and the objectives which way they can really be fruitful whether by mail, brochures, TVC, print or any other electronic media.
