Digital Health and Wellness is one of the nine elements of digital citizenship. Education in digital health and wellness should be given to avoid physical and psychological issues. Digital Citizenship are the norms of appropriate, responsible behavior regarding technology use (Ribble, M., 2017). Being a digital citizen means being a good citizen in the digital world where we learn to apply our manners and rules just like in the real world. This includes: picking the right mouse and keyboard, which will prevent arthritis. Arthritis can develop from constant typing and clicking. It is also important to sit up straight in the chair by placing your back flat against the back of the chair and your feet on the ground. This will prevent strain our backs. For eye safety, to help ease eye strain, it is important to make sure to use good lighting, maintain a safe distance from the screen, and not staring at the screen for long periods of time. Also, you should not sit too close or stare too long at the computer (Heiting,OD & Wan, OD, 2018). To avoid repetitive stress syndrome and carpal tunnel syndrome, people can be educated in stretching at their workstations. People should take breaks from working on their computers by changing their tasks. They can break up long typing tasks by stretching or by changing positions. Looking away from the screen and focusing on an object that is far off, can be done time to time. If you try stretches, hold them for at least 10 to 20 seconds, and you should never feel pain. Internet addiction has become an international problem that is now being recognized as a serious problem. Internet addiction can cause excessive fatigue or loss of sleep, academic problems, withdrawal from friends and family, and behavioral problems in those who suffer from it (What is Internet Addiction, 2016) (ISTE, 2017). Adapting to new technology can be difficult for parents and teachers, however, there are many ways in which parents and teachers can help students find the balance between the digital world and the real world. A great idea for Physical Education teachers, provided by EdTechDigest, is to use a digital fitness-tracking tool, such as a Fitbit or GPS distance tracker. The fitness tracker can be used to analyze the correlation between the individual’s physical well-being online and offline. As stated before, the internet is here to stay and one of the best ways to adapt to this technology is to embrace it so that parents and teachers can find new ways to incorporate it into the daily life of their students and children. As technology improves and time on the computer increases, symptoms for these diseases begin to appear more frequently. Sitting on the computer for hours on end makes you prone to developing a musculoskeletal disease since you are not being active or exercising your muscles. Ardahan and Simsek (2015) analyze the interaction and affect on excessive computer work and disease in the musculoskeleton. Their study includes 490 participants who work in a government office in Turkey, and observe how their bodies were reacting to their work environment, excluding workers who are already struggling with pain coming from a previous disease. Results were taken from the experiment by filling out questionnaires that attempted to document the level of discomfort that they experienced. More than 25% were discovered to not take a break during their session on the computer, but found that the average amount of time spent on the computer was 7 hours. The workers recorded musculoskeletal pain symptoms mainly in the neck area and back. Age was not a determinant factor when it came to being more prone to experiencing these symptoms. In some of the results, it was found that women are more likely to have pain in certain areas in comparison to men, and overall dealt with more pain. The data from the study proved that the more use you get on the computer, the more likely you are to develop symptoms of a disorder in your musculoskeletal system. To ensure that you don’t suffer through the pain, the results show that taking breaks from long computer usage is beneficial. I want to pursue a doctorate degree in industrial engineering specialized in ergonomics from a reputable university in the United States (US). During my doctoral study, I plan to conduct ergonomics researches concentrated on injury prevention resulted from the hand-operated device usage. I am interested in focusing in particular area because pertinent studies had provided evidences that various health problems apparently grow along with the rapid growth of hand-operated gadget usage. However, limited studies addressing to explain empirical evidence about the musculoskeletal risks that associated with the usage of the most recently developed gadgets. In addition, for enhancing my knowledge to support my researches I intend to take several ergonomics courses like occupational biomechanics and human motor behavior-engineering systems.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is the first term that comes to mind when thinking of problems that people experience with computer use regarding their hands. Based on my limited knowledge of this topic, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs due to a persons prolonged usage of a computer keyboard. Problems of this sort occur more often due to poor ergonomics and posture. Computer office furniture that does not allow one to adjust the height of the chair or keyboard, so that the arms form a write angle at the elbow, cause strain on the wrist, which may result in carpal tunnel syndrome. People who use computers for long periods of time without giving themselves a break and flexing their wrist have a higher propensity of developing problems.
In the modern world internet access is a vital part of everyday life. It is important for education, and is a necessary skill for those entering the job markets of today. The internet is highly entertaining and informative. These qualities make the internet an attractive escape from the stress of everyday life. People can enter a different world and make the problems of the real world disappear. Anything is possible on the internet. Internet addiction has the same symptoms as an addition to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or caffeine. When someone becomes addicted to the internet they will have increasing tolerance to the amount of time they spend online, withdrawal, mood changes between when online and off, and there will be an interruption of social relationships and activities. People with an addiction will need more time online to be happy. When access to the internet is not available people will show signs of anxiety, depression, irritability, trembling hands, and restlessness.
