I was on my way up to the highest mountain of my hometown, The Disney Trail, as it is called. I was mentioned many times before how calming and relaxing this hike was especially when reaching the top. The three mile walk seemed to take forever, every step that I took made my legs want to crumble. The grass which was very tall made me fear of the insects, and other crawly creatures that could possibly be lying anywhere. I felt the need of being more alert when I the various unknown green plants. There was a high risk of getting poison ivy, or some type of deadly bacteria. The stench that lingered in the air reminded me of a dead skunk, the scent which penetrated my clothes stuck with me the whole way. The jungle like scenery was something
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
You could fit all of Disneyland plus 500 more cars into the parking lot at Disney world. Disney world is 40 sq. miles. To put that in a visual for you it’s the size of all San Francisco. Walt Disney created Disney World because he wanted a place where families could spend quality time and fun together in a safe environment. Disney World’s Magic kingdom is number one world wide the most popular theme park in the whole world with Epcot at a close third. Also according to Buzzfeed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the most enjoyed ride at Disney World, and you don’t want to miss out on that. In 1971, 10,000 people came to Disney World’s grand opening. Today the average attendance is 52,000 it says in temporary tourist. Disney world has changed
“All right. I’m corny. But I think there’s just about a-hundred-and-forty-million people in this country that are just as corny as I am.” Walt Disney was a major part of the Twentieth Century media and entertainment production. Disney was born December 5, 1901 in Chicago, and died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966. He was a chain smoker all his life, which may have been the cause of his lung cancer. His parents impacted him because they were German/English and Irish descent, and the Disney family frequently moved between Marceline, Kansas City, and Chicago.
Every year since I was a freshman in high school my family would all pack into our car and head to Six Flags for my father’s job. This was usually one day I could count on for unexpected entertainment. Each year was a new experience in the making because one year it may be sunny or one year it may rain, but HEY! Its Georgia weather what can you do about it?
Young girls sit in front of the television watching Disney movies portraying picture perfect girls who are rescued and swept off their feet by a handsome knight in shining armor. While some believe these movies are perfectly harmless, research proves differently. Disney culture has negatively affected society by causing self-esteem issues, establishing gender norms in movies like Sleeping Beauty, and by setting unrealistic expectations, such as those seen in the similar “fairy tale” endings of The Little Mermaid and the movie version of Pride and Prejudice. If one has a bit of background information on this topic, he or she can make up his or her mind on the issue.
Every day, Disney World is full of people looking for magic and fun to fulfill their day. There are many different types of entertainment, rides and characters when visiting the parks. When planning a trip to Disney World, visitors can choose from four different parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
The first time I was at Disney World was a long time ago. My family and I were really excited to go for a long time. The Disney World we went to was in Japan. The First we flew there we would up in the morning and go to some of the parks there. I was really young but I still remember everything to this day. We went to all of the parks and most of the shows that would play. We stayed in Disney world for a little over a week. It was our last day so we went to our favorite park animal kingdom. We had a ton of fun but it was about time to get packed up and go on the plane. The plane ride would take around 14 hours long. We were on the plane finally and it was really stormy. There was also a lot of turbulence. The turbulence seemed
As I inched my way toward the cliff, my legs were shaking uncontrollably. I could feel the coldness of the rock beneath my feet when my toes curled around the edge in one last futile attempt at survival. My heart was racing like a trapped bird, desperate to escape. Gazing down the sheer drop, I nearly fainted; my entire life flashed before my eyes. I could hear stones breaking free and fiercely tumbling down the hillside, plummeting into the dark abyss of the forbidding black water. The trees began to rapidly close in around me in a suffocating clench, and the piercing screams from my friends did little to ease the pain. The cool breeze felt like needles upon my bare skin, leaving a trail of goose bumps. The threatening mountains surrounding me seemed to grow more sinister with each passing moment, I felt myself fighting for air. The hot summer sun began to blacken while misty clouds loomed overhead. Trembling with anxiety, I shut my eyes, murmuring one last pathetic prayer. I gathered my last breath, hoping it would last a lifetime, took a step back and plun...
The making of Disney Land began on July 21st 1954 this was only leaving 12 months of construction time until the opening day. Disney Land was around 160 acres in capacity and was located in a semi-rural area in the Orange County. Walt was burdened with millions of questions and doubt from several people about the running of Disney Land and if it would ever work out as this was something that had never been created before. Walt had Disney Land made up of 5 different lands, Main ST USA, Adventure Land, Frontier Land, Fantasyland Land and Tomorrow Land.
It’s the night before you leave for Disney World. For months you’ve been counting down the days before you finally board your plane and take off towards sunny Orlando, Florida. You’ve been day-dreaming of the moment you meet your favorite Disney character, excitement and anticipation fueling your every thought. Then reality smacks you right in the face, and you realize that you don’t even have a suitcase packed! Frantically, you run to your attic and pull out that dusty old suitcase you’ve had since 1812.
When my beloved family of five assemble together in our van, which nearly explodes with homemade meals and supplementary apparel, we relish prolonged expeditions. These journeys often consist of national parks, but by far my dearest park is Yosemite National Park. This park has a special spot in our heart because it was the first national park we explored. The park excels in so many distinct aspects with its prominent colossal sequoia trees, breathtaking views, the pine trees upon pine trees, the long curvy roads, the wildlife, the tranquil rivers and above all the quality time spent with your family. When entering the park one detects a welcome from the long, passive roads where lanky, aging, pine trees tag along, blocking the beautiful
The Main Street station, is the curtains to a large production as if the Magic Kingdom was a theater. As I wander beneath the archway, I notice that above the arch is a plaque that reads: “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy”. As I continue to stroll through the passage on the way to Main Street, there are posters of “upcoming attractions” that line the walls on both sides. I then step into Main Street U.S.A. and begin to hear the Victorian style orchestra playing over the speakers. I notice some Disney pals in Town Square greeting guests as if they were old friends. Then I begin to travel further down the street, and the smell of the caramel apples, chocolate chip cookies, and other sweets walk out of the open doors of the bakery and into the street. At the end of this turn of the century town, sits the one hundred eightyninefoottall, Cinderella Castle. This moment is a pivotal moment in any Disney vacation, because the castle is well known to millions. I get
This is the other part of the story, the one no one asks about or knows about. It’s the part of the story my parents never wanted to hear about. The part of the story that turned me into what I became.
