This study intended to observe the behavior of characters in Disney movies in order to examine their potential influence on the development of gender roles in society’s youth. First, we were interested in determining whether or not, Disney products do in fact contain characters that portray gender stereotypical behaviors as has been discovered in previous studies. Disney promotes sexisim by forcing young girls to live in a patriarchal world. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The little mermaid, Aladdin, and Snow White are all examples of popular Disney movies that encourage young viewers that they need a man to save the day. Yes, it’s true that there are recent movies such as Moana and Frozen that prove otherwise, but how long will it take to completely get over the fact that women are mainly viewed as secondary citizens compared to the men? There are countless examples of how Disney movies influence this theme, and how much the female characters’ actions, ideas and thoughts are not included in a Disney movie.

Following World War II Disney Production was in a substantial amount of debt. They needed to come out with a new movie that would win over the public of America. They came out with just the right movie, Cinderella, in 1950. This was their biggest hit since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs some 15 years ago. Because of Cinderella Disney Productions stayed in business and could go on to produce many more heartwarming movies.

It took a bit of thought to come up with something that I could change about myself in this project. I do not mean there are not things to change, there definitely are. But, I find myself usually catering to my family when it comes to my behavior, their wants and needs. I decided to try to make my mornings more efficient with the way I start the day because that usually is the only time I have to myself. I chose to drink more water and do yoga each morning to center myself. I was hoping that by doing so would also help with weight loss without focusing strictly on that.
If you’re planning to dive into everything the island has to offer, there are several things you will need to pack. Enjoying a holiday requires preparation, so be sure to take notes! With that said, here are some of what you need to bring with you:
The items you need to bring with you can differ between the beach and the city but it can also be the same. At the beach you need to bring bathing suits and surf boards. At the beach you want to bring shorts and tank tops. While in the city it is wise to bring comfortable shoes and a jacket. The city you should bring shorts and comfortable shirts as well as dress clothes if you plan on attending a Broadway show or a musical or even go out to a nice restaurant. In the city and the beach if you want to do things outdoors you should bring sunscreen and shoes. In both places it is wise to bring cash for public transportation but different types are available in both places. And of course you will need to always bring your own toiletries.
