Education is extremely important to me. I grew up being constantly pushed to strive in academics. I enjoyed excelling in my education and I believe
I succeeded, due to the fact that I was in the top ten students in my high school for all four years. I plan on continuing my educational success at Texas Tech University. I have wanted to be enrolled in
Texas Tech since I started high school. A large amount of my friends went to Texas Tech and they would tell me about how much of an experience it was to go to a university with such a cornucopia of options to enjoy. I have heard about how beneficial learning from the highly regarded professors can be for developing one’s education, and I hope to benefit to the best of my ability. After my four

I have always wanted to be a dentist, ever since I was little. I love to make people smile and as a dentist I will be able to accomplish that goal. I enjoy having healthy teeth and gums, and I would love for everyone else around me to have healthy teeth and gums. I have been interested in dentistry from a very young age. I remember being exhilarated to go to the dentist and have my teeth worked on or my gums poked.
I loved the feeling and the atmosphere of the dentist office and the idea of dentistry in general. As I got older I discovered that I needed braces, and in the beginning I was not too thrilled to have my teeth locked up for three years, but eventually I learned to accept my braces and embrace them. After I got my braces off I noticed how confident have straight teeth made me. I could smile with confidence and not have to worry about anybody judging the metal in my mouth.
I want to be able to instill the same confidence in all of my patients.
I want people to smile at themselves in the mirror and feel happy about the way they look. I am planning to pursue this career, because it has always been my dream. It may be a lot of hard work, but I will pull through and enjoy doing what I love.
Communicating with one’s eyes is crucial in dentistry. In a room where faces hide behind masks and mouths are full of instruments, it is necessary to wordlessly convey reassurance and kindness. I witnessed the significance of this detail during my childhood in Taiwan. Growing up, I did not brush my teeth until I was eight years old because I did not understand the importance of oral hygiene, causing an oral infection that inflamed my cheek. When I first received treatment, the sight of the lidocaine syringe and dental handpiece struck fear in me. However, what I recall most vividly were the dentist’s eyes; they expressed confidence and empathy, promising I was in good hands. I strive to emulate this thoughtful care as a welcoming, compassionate, and effective dentist.
Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved going to the dentist. I was never scared, not even when I went for my fillings and wisdom teeth extractions. Mostly all the hygienist I have had so far have been friendly, patient and always ready to help with a big smile on their face and that is what attracted me towards this career. I want to help people in need that cannot afford the services.
After being lost, puzzled, and indecisive for a while now about which health-related career I desire the most, I finally made up my mind and selected a major. I decided to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science after accomplishing an Associate’s Degree in Science, which is an open field filled with opportunities for several health professions. I realized that a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science is the way to go as it enables me to switch back and forth between all of the health occupations that I worship. Down the road, I can even further my education and specialize in a specific domain that I am willing to commit to. In general, Health Science is a major where professionals undergo several tasks such as improving their community’s health and overall wellbeing, get involved in nutrition related conditions, use epidemiological techniques, counteract various infections, and enrich physical and daily health routines.
When I was a child, I looked at a mirror one day, and I was amazed by the fact that I was aware of my eyes looking at my face. It was a moment of epiphany for me that I was conscious of my senses working properly.
Upon enrolling at Texas State Technical College, I met some amazing professors who really inspired me to go for with my dreams of becoming a dentist. Even after expressing my fear of failure because I had a child, they assured me that I had it in me to do it. I had no idea how much work it would take to get to where wanted to be, but I knew that this was the career for me. It felt so good to finally know my purpose in life. Before actually starting my prerequisite for dental school my main motivation for going into dental school was to help people and I had a genuine interested in all the new technology. All the new advancements in technology that the dental industry as a whole had offered definitely reeled me in. I didn 't really know what I was getting myself into or how much dentistry has to offer until I actually started working as a dental assistant. There is where I learned what my purpose in dentistry was going to
(To have a real insight into the daily duties of a dentist, I set aside a period of time last summer where I could acquire some work experience.) I spent 2 weeks at a local general practice offering both private and NHS treatment. I witnessed the close relationships to which the dentist had created with his patients, personally I find meeting and working with new people on a daily basis provides quite a fun stimulating aspect to this career. Whilst shadowing my dentist I witnessed a number of complex procedures such as a dislodged wisdom tooth extraction and many root canal fillings. My experience at this practice showed me that dentistry is a career that is heavily dependent on dentist-patient interactions, alongside other collaborating staff to ensure the correct treatment is given in an efficient and effective manner. I also spent a week at my orthodontist, it was here that it became apparent to me the real extent to which dentistry
In my experiences, I have found pinpointing a career and channeling my aspirations extremely difficult tasks. That being said, like most difficult endeavors in life, there exists extraordinary reward. Through research, soul searching, and trial and error, I realize that I aspire to make an impact in as many people’s lives as possible, while still taking care of myself and my future family. That is where dentistry comes in to play.
My current career goal is to become either a dentist or an orthodontist. I would enjoy being either of these since they peak my interest. When I was younger, I looked forward to going to the dentist. I was astonished by the shiny instruments that they would stick in your mouth in order to make your teeth clean and healthy. I also might go to college to pursue a career in orthodontics. I would enjoy being an orthodontist due to the fact that I think braces, retainers, and such are neat. I would enjoy putting them on people and knowing how to do it.
I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, but it was difficult for me to find a vocation I felt I could dedicate my life to doing. As I explored the different aspects of healthcare, it was my experiences in dental settings that have most captivated me. A dentist has the ability to blend science with art, the opportunity to form close relationships with patients, and the capability to mentor their community. The multifaceted nature of this field is the reason I am so passionate about it and I know dentistry is my calling.
It is 8:40 p.m. of Tuesday night and I'm leaving the King Fahd General hospital driving home with John Mayer melodies bringing peaceful and relaxing vibes into the car compartments.
I knew I wanted to be involved in a dentistry related career from a very young age as I always wanted to role play being a dentist I always played with me childhood friends and used my imagination to create scenarios, but the real passion for becoming a dentist grew when I went to my first dentists appointment, this was the real starting point because I started seeing myself as a future dentist. furthermore during two years of visiting the orthodontist for my braces I understood how helping and caring for people can be rewarding as a smile is one of the main features of a person that helps them interact with others , during my treatment I also experienced the satisfaction of a patient
I spent an early part of my life in a developing country called Bangladesh which was a stark contrast to my life in the United States. Despite living in the capital city of Dhaka, which has a busy urban landscape, what always struck me was the sad state of the people struggling with poverty. There were malnourished children and individuals suffering from diseases on the streets. These memories have stuck with me and inspired me to go into a profession that provides service to people in need. People in my family have a diverse range of profession, but my dentist aunt who has done extensive volunteer work through her profession has always been a great role model for me. Last year, my aunt went on a dental service trip to Ecuador and provided free dental care to people who don’t have access to proper healthcare. These
I chose to become a dentist as being a child I had to visit a dentist many times for correction of malaligned teeth that i had. So my dentist who was also a specialist in the field of orthodontics inspired me deeply as it gave me a vague idea of how can i also bring smile and self confidence back to an individual by providing him with a competent smile again by incorporating the blend of my hand creativity and mental alertness, same as my dentist did for me thus returning me my self esteem and the confidence to smile again .Thus i found this field very satisfying and fulfilling.
Some people may wonder, why dentistry? Dentistry is often viewed as maybe boring, or an odd profession to aspire to go into. As I have grown up I have always known that I at least would like to go into the health field, and help people In any way that I can, however
Growing up I heard many stories from my peers of their experiences at the dentist’s office. It is upsetting to say that most of my visits were vividly terrifying. As a child, the grinding, scratching, and high-pitched twangs of the instruments digging around in my mouth would leave my ears ringing and teeth vibrating every single time. The smell of fluoride and disinfectants permanently infected the air, sending chills through my body the minute I walked in. I quickly learned that latex posses an extremely unappetizing aftertaste. Needless to say, I was not always enthusiastic about going to the dentist’s office and getting braces did not make anything better for me.
