Delta Problem-Solution Essay At its present state, Delta Company is afflicted by a multitude of issues. Some of these issues, however, are caused by underlying issues in the company that all others grow around; creating a sort of avalanche effect. By addressing the underlying issues, it is possible to correct the others issues. Two of the most apparent problems are the company’s accountability at formations, especially to Breakfast Roll Call, and the lack cleanliness of the cadets rooms on a consistent basis. It is important to address these problems directly, but it is also essential to explore and address the underlying causes of these two issues. One of the toughest tasks Delta’s cadre face on a daily basis is accountability to formations. …show more content…
By solving this, it will boost the overall morale of the cadre who face this each morning. In turn, the cadre will have greater motivation throughout the day and throughout the year. To improve Delta’s accountability, the cadre must be motivated to commit large amounts of effort in doing so. This motivation starts with discussing the specific issues faced by cadre at each level to their appropriate chain of command on a regular basis. This includes general problems that regularly occur as well as ones that occur in the short term such as reporting the names of specific cadets who cause problems. However in the current state, this is hard to do, because many of the Sergeants and Team Leaders have little motivation to even try waking their squads up let alone taking the time to note the specific problems they face in doing so. To solve this it is important to select cadets based partly on their experience at the school, but also largely based on their commitment as well. In the past experience has played a greater role than actual motivation which has led to ineffective cadre. Many of the New Boys enter the school motivated, but see a lot of time pass before they are considered for rank. During this time, which can be as long …show more content…
Without this all else will fail. If the cadre selected can successfully improve the company’s room standards and accountability, it will give boost their motivation in the long run leading to a more effective set of cadre. It is important to stress these areas from the very beginning in the cadets, particularly the new ones that will be arriving. If the cadre selected are properly motivated, then they can train the incoming cadets to higher standards than the standards of many of the current cadet. Sergeants are essential to this, because they largely introduce the cadets to the school. If they are not waking their cadets up, inspecting rooms, or holding their cadets and themselves accountable to this then the incoming cadets will not see any reason to have any sort of elevated standards. This motivation starts from the top of the chain of command down. It is essential to have a Captain and First Sergeant that actively motivate the cadre. This should be done by listening to their problems, helping them solve it in a self sufficient manner, and providing encouragement through words, through reward, and through consequence. If this proper motivation can be attained through committed cadets and maintained through the chain of command, then all else can fall into place and pave the way from the cadre and cadets that come after
army values soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being dependable-arriving to work and appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most important formation of the day. It is made to get accountability of everyone and put out any information that there needs to be dealt with. Without having accountability there is noknowing of where everybody is or what 's going on. As a result of me showing up late and not calling in I am pending u.s.m.j action under article 15. know knowing the severity of the I have realized that is an important asset always showing up on time at the right place of duty. Not only does accountability matter in formation it is also imperative to have accountability of all your weapons and sensitive items. Incase of something happening spontaniousley and you don 't have any knowing of how much and where everything is there is alot of confusion and drama. Any time anything happens or you are preparing to go to the field or deployment of course you have to have accountability and order. Without that there would be chaos. Not only being accounted for you have to be responsible and reliable. A person who does as promised can be considered as reliable. Reliability is an admirable characteristic. People don 't like to deal with those who are unreliable. They 'd rather give their business and rewards to the person
Teamwork harnesses individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives and is the key to spreading my 4th ABCT vision. Leaders and Soldiers alike, create synergy and a positive organizational environment by sharing in each other’s accomplishments and foster a culture of interest, instead of indifference. My intent is for 4th ABCT to develop an understanding of this team mentality, realizing how as individuals we are limited to the sum of our efforts and achievements, while as a team our efforts and achievements are multiplied. Pride, performance, and camaraderie in our organization will increase motivation because each individual achievement is shared by all. I will look to CSM Ivor, my brigade staff, and “battalion command teams” (Battalion Commanders and CSMs) to share and embody my vision of teamwork and foster the same within their commands. They will be my guiding coalition and lead agents for change, and I expect them to build our team through coaching, teaching, and mentoring their subordinates. This exemplifies engaged leadership and shares my vision because leaders are investing time in training and counseling our soldiers, and empowers our subordinates to execute it. I think that once we start acting like a team again pride in the unit will surge as leaders demonstrate engaged leadership with increased counseling and active mentorship programs. Members of the unit will spend more time together, strengthening professional and personal bonds and incorporating families at after hour unit evens. Our success will ultimately be realized when I MAJ Cobb more at church on Sundays than on my appointment

As NCO’s we sometimes become complacent in our positions and our routines. Accepting challenges is what sets us apart and continues to ensure that we grow as Soldiers, Leaders, and Non-Commissioned Officers. The Sergeant Audie Murphy Club induction process is rigorous, and because of the rigorous amount of preparation that it takes to earn it, I will become a more knowledgeable NCO, while also allowing room to realize what my weaknesses are in order to improve in those areas. This learning and self-refining assessment will ultimately help me become a better NCO for my Soldiers. I aspire to become a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club for
From family to squad members, communication acts as the cornerstone for a military officer, assisting in the mental health of the individual as well as facilitating the conduction of successful operations by an intricate, yet responsive, organization. Military officers are often times imagined as infallible heroes, unwavering against and untouched by the realities of modern warfare. Yet, newly commissioned, 22 year old officers often faces the arduous responsibilities of leading a platoon or flight comprised of men and women generally the same age as themselves into combat, or managing millions of dollars worth
Within a Company under the Battalion level there is a necessity for accountability for every solider that is assigned to that unit. With the given chain of command to those companies there is a figure head to that company and she or she is the representation of that company. She or she governs and directions the company as well ensures the accountability for her or hers individuals assigned. Within that company we have such formations to receive information and to ensure the safety as well as the accountability of the soldiers that are assigned to that company.

...e reasoning behind how we lead should not change no matter what environment we are in. Troops listen and absorb our demeanor no matter what disposition we display. When Leaders fail to take initiative as problems present themselves in the rear, junior marines observe this complacent attitude and accept indecisive attitudes that decrease the unit’s ability to problem solve and act as issues arise. Breaking down our role as Marines we are expected and known by the outside world as hard charging, fearless men who ruthlessly wage and win wars by crushing our opponents with relentless force. However, with the ever evolving Marine Corps and the vast differences in MOS and job training we have to hold these Marines accountable, and in order to do so we must continue our long tradition of confident men, who trust their own skills and who make decisions without hesitation.
It is key to have a good discipline in the army because without discipline we wouldn 't be able to complete our missions successfully or any
As our forefathers before us stated, ‘‘No one is more professional than I. I am a Noncommissioned Officer, a leader of soldiers. As a Noncommissioned Officer, I realize that I am a member of a time honored corps, which is known as “The Backbone of the Army (“The NCO Creed writing by SFC Earle Brigham and Jimmie Jakes Sr”). These words to Noncommissioned Officer should inspire us to the fullest with pride, honor, and integrity. The NCO creed should mean much more than just words whenever we attend a NCO’s school. For most of us this is what our creed has become because we learn to narrate or recite. The military from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard has an overabundance of NCOs who fall under their pay grade of E-5, E-6 and etc. Yet somehow there still not enough leaders. I believe that the largest problem afflicting the military today is our lack of competent leaders, ineffective leader development, and how we influence our subordinates under us who are becoming leaders.
2. Once accepted inside the academy, the cadets undergo both military and academic training so as to hone them for their roles as future military officers. They are exposed to rigorous training for the development of their stamina, endurance and physical characteristics. Their character is also developed as they engage in the different trainings requirements inside the academy. They were engaged in different trainings that will help them to be a better one. Cadets follow a daily schedule in which they wake up early, fix their beds, clean their rooms, and dress up for reveille. Since they are full in duties, they have limited time to do their own personal stuffs. This however, will help them to develop stability under pressure that despite limited time, they can still work for their compliances, prepare for their personal things and even for the next duty, both under the military training requirements and academic requirements. This set up is necessary since the cadets must be well trained physically, mentally, emotionally, and also academically.
“Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.” William Pollard’s, a 20th century physicist, words show us the power of being proactive, and igniting change to strengthen a company’s productive climate (Sellers, Boone, Harper, 2011). Acme Airlines flight attendants lacked incentive to improve the quality of their work, as a result of distrustful management and overall frustration within the company. Acme took successful steps to rebuild their FA program into a more relationship oriented work environment. Through an understanding of effective leadership, we will use the
