Dawlish Warren Field Trip
Dawlish Warren is a small village in south Devon designed to be a
tourist attraction. Here is a map showing Dawlish Warren's location:
Dawlish warren is a major sand spit at the mouth of the River Exe, and
is visited by over 20,000 people per day in peak holiday season. A
spit is a ridge of sand or shingle projecting from the land into a
body of water. It is deposited by waves carrying material from one
direction to another across the mouth of an inlet. In the case of
Dawlish Warren, deposition in the water behind the spit has caused the
formation of a salt marsh. A wide range of coastal defences have been
erected all over the warren in order to stop erosion and deposition.
There is a wide range of landforms at Dawlish Warren, which result
from these natural processes. The spit has been deposited by several
natural processes:
1. Longshore drift from the west.
2. River sediment from the River Exe.
3. Sediment moved inshore from offshore sand banks.
This section of coastline is extremely important for several reasons:
1. COMMUNICATIONS- the main London to Penzance railway line passes
through this section of coast.
2. TOURISM- up to 20 000 people vist Dawlish Warren per day in peak
holiday season.
3. SPECIALISED RECREATION- Dawlish Warren has an 18 hole golf course.
4. GENERAL RECREATION- numerous activities including swimming,
fishing, windsurfing, walking, etc.
5. CONSERVATION- the spit is an internationally valuable habitat for
birds and plants. It is an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific
Interest)as well as an NNR (National Nature Reserve).
6. COASTAL PROTECTION- the spit is a giant natural breakwater,
protecting low lying areas of the Exe estuary behind it, from waves
and flooding.
7. BUSINESS- over 40 local businesses rely on visitors to this area,
e.g. cafes, gift shops, etc.
The aim of the fieldtrip will be to investigate the following:
· COASTAL DEFENCE
· BEACH PROFILES
· SAND DUNES

In deed on June 6, 1944, the little town of Bedford, VA, suffered a tragedy that would never be forgotten. But through the pain and hardship some of officers who leaded the Bedford boys displayed remarkable leadership’s principles. One of the basic functions of leadership is to unite people: bring people together to achieve common objectives. There is truth in the statement, where there is unity there is strength. This essay will offer a working definition of effective leadership principles and discuss the function of leadership as it relates to followers, motivation and power.
On September 21, 2015, I was assigned this case to follow up. This case involves Ms. Hadja Bah a thirteen year old Francis Hammond School student. Ms. Bah has a previous runaway history and refuses to follow curfew set at home. Hadja had runaway several times (15-138346/15-121625/15-118272) which I have investigated several of the incidents. CPS investigator Ms. Alice Keany did a family assessment for the Bah family.
The Inn is referring to the River Inn which is north of the water divide.
St. Martin Parish is made up of two major physiographic areas: Mississippi River alluvial plain and the terrace uplands (Murphy et al., 1977). Both landform categories were made because of the Mississippi River. The alluvial plain consists of recent fluvial deposits that were deposited by the Mississippi, Atchafalaya, and Red River during the Holocene Epoch, last 10,000 years. These accumulated deposits eventually give way to creating landforms such as backswamps and natural levees. Backswamps are low land areas that are built from silt and clay particle deposits. These particles tend to compact very easily thus making the area a lot lower than the surrounding landscape. In St. Martin Parish, the Atchafalaya Basin is a very popular backswamp

It has been said the Cape Fear River is the lifeblood of Southport. If this is correct, then Whittler’s Bench must be the heart. This riverfront setting at the foot of Howe Street has been a local gathering point for over two hundred years. Find a parking place (waterfront parking is in high demand so early morning parking is easiest) and visit Waterfront Park or take your fishing rod and visit the City Pier. Enjoy the cool breeze and river view. Watch the sail boats and power boats cruise the river. Oceangoing cargo ships and tankers make their way up and down the Cape Fear under the guidance of a local river pilot. Ferries shuttle people and cargo to Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island across the river. The cacophony of the gulls

The Effectiveness of Willy Russell's Presentation of the School Trip in Our Day Out 'Our day out' was written as a television play in 1977 but taken directly from Willy Russell's personal experience of teaching in a Liverpool comprehensive school in 1974. Not only does Willy Russell's experience stem from his time in teaching but also from being a pupil at two Liverpool comprehensive schools, leaving at 15 with no qualifications. This gives him a good understanding of situations described in the play from the point of view of both children and teachers. Liverpool at that time had a large working class population and a lot of poverty, with huge social problems.
The goals of the education leaders is to take the Indigenous children away from their families and educate them separately in a boarding school that the family tradition and custom would not affect their assimilation. However these school was to help the Indians catch up on the Western society.
Turning to rivers, they appear first when Marlow is discussing the blank spots on the map. He says that these yellow spaces are filled...
Over summer we were assigned to read two books. The first one was the loved one by Evelyn Waugh, which was a relatively short book. And the second one was the endurance by Caroline Alexander, which was a pretty thick book.
After the winter, people look forward to having all the flowers begin to bloom again and birds begin to fly, announcing the start of spring. The grass turns green and people begin to be outside without five layers of clothing on and snow falling from the sky. Spring is when everything comes alive after the winter hibernation. My favorite time of the year is spring, when you wake up to the birds chirping outside of your windows. It is the time of year when you walk outside and smell the fresh cut grass and the scent of new flowers. On the first day of spring you are even happy to see the little bugs flying around you because you know you are finally done with winter. It is the best time of year, with so many different things happening outside in nature.
