Chapter 1: Rope Swinging at Eastern Slopes Campground Over the summer I went to a campground named Eastern Slopes Campground. There, they had a river and on one of river there were trees and on one of the trees there was a rope swing tied to it so we had to climb the roots that were emerged from the water. When I went rope swinging, I went rope swinging with my cousins and sisters. Near the roots, the water was very deep and there was tiny little fish swimming. They were eating the algae off of the trees. While we were swinging, I went first. My little sister Emily went second and she was very scared. She swung, let go early, dragged her feet in the water, and face planted. She panicked and her feet couldn’t touch the water because it was …show more content…
The name of it is Stampede and it is made by the fastest name in radio control, TRAXXAS. It is a 2WD car with a waterproof engine making it so we can ride it in the rain or through puddles. The car can reach a maximum speed of 30+ mph and when you upgrade the engine, it can reach a max speed of 55+ mph. The day after I got my car we went to salisbury beach. Me and my cousins each rode our cars on the sand and they drifted so well! After the sand, we went to their skatepark. We were doing backflips and frontflips then my cousin did a double front flip. Of course I wanted to try it and I tried a double backflip. I went to the quarter pipe and attempted my stunt. From here, it all went down hill. When I attempted the double backflip, I didn’t land it. The back end of my car didn’t make it completely around so all of the pressure was on the front shocks. The axle cracked underneath my car and since it was plastic, it happened to my cousin's car too when he tried the same thing. We then took it to the ABC and R/C Hobbies shop to get them fixed and it was only $10 for the part and an additional $25 fee for an hourly …show more content…
My total was around 1250 tickets because of the other tickets I earned from other machines. Usually, I will save all of my tickets that earn because my aunt has inspired me to save tickets since I was little. She once bought a T.V. with all of her tickets that she had. So anyways, I spent all of them on candy there. The 3 candies that I got were tootsie rolls, bubble gum, and airheads. Chapter 4: My Trip To Disney World Last fall, I went to Disney World. One of the Park's I went to was Epcot. There, I saw the giant Globe lit up at night. There were lots of plaques to with people's names on them. These indicated the times and when people come. My aunt and her kids were on there when she came with them in 2005. One ride we went on was Space Mountain. During the ride there's a two-person cart. It shows you what you would see if you were in outer space. Also during the ride, it is complete darkness and there was a long line. In one of the carts was my 5 year old cousin and my mom. This was because my mom is a bigger person than my cousin and their rules are bigger than the back, smaller in the front. my mom was really scared and she was yelling to hold on that my cousin. during the ride my cousin was laughing so hard that his stomach hurt when he got off the ride because of my mom screaming. she was over exaggerating it like
I was sitting with my friend, Pistol on one of the bucking shoots watching the barrel race.
On this ride riders experience the Sun, Mars, the Asteriod Belt, Sattilites, and the Moon. During this ride the space craft shaped car will speed down a dark purple track. This ride also offers a one of a kind single seat at the sheer point of the space shuttle shaped car giving the rider a once in a lifetime experience. The ride will deliver a very thrilling ride with the ride twisting around itself. This will produce a very intense ride. Apollo 11 being the first space shuttle to accomplish the first moon landing will make this ride have excellent theming and will make you feel like its real. The ride will cause riders to feel all the insane moments these astronauts had when they were the first men on the moon. The ride will put rides through a series 9 elements, including 3 inversions. Rides will spiral up the first hill and it will be the first of its type. Also with the outer seats will provide a similar ride to coasters similar to skyrush nevertheless this roller coaster will be the first roller coaster with winged seats to go upside down. This all causes this coaster one of the ultimately unique roller
I had only been once before, but it was forever ago, and I was excited about going. It did not take too long to get there at all. When we arrived we went and got a bite to eat, and then we bought our tickets. We bought two set of tickets for Sara and me, one to go to Kiddy Land with my niece while my sister and her boyfriend go to the big park and then one for later that night for us to go to the other park after we watch my niece. After a few hours of being there, they had not come and got my niece yet and I ended not getting to go to the big park that is night because they forgot all about me.
Located in the popular Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in California. Every year, mother nature’s breathtaking beauty attracts millions of people from around the world. People hike for three long and fatiguing hours in anticipation of witnessing forceful water rushing down the steep mountain from 2,425 feet above. Last summer, my family and I backpacked through the Yosemite Falls Trail and I came to learn what a truly exhausting experience it is.
In the heart of Yosemite National Park, surrounded by towering redwoods, I began a journey that left an indelible mark on my soul. It was a golden summer morning, the sun shone warmly on desert rocks and green meadows. As I set out on the misty path, the roar of distant waterfalls filled the air and reflected the granite walls. Each step revealed a new sight: the colorful spray of Bridalveil Fall, the cool touch of the Merced River, and the smell of pine needles under my feet. I was not alone in this majestic landscape.
The night was surprisingly quiet. The crickets sang a hushed tune that rode along the sweet gusts of wind. The sky was no longer navy blue however, but a deep violet transforming into a gradient lavender and orange. The night was shedding its skin to become the beginnings of a new day. But along with the dawn came the need to hide.
Four-wheeler riding with a part of my family, I realized how crazy my dad could be. Leaving the others behind, my cousin Brittany and I hurried through the woods trying to compete with my dad. When I finally caught up with my dad, my four wheeler came to a complete stop. My dad instructed me to let my cousin drive my four-wheeler and ride with him. When I climbed onto the four-wheeler with my dad, we waited for my mom and sister to catch up. Then we raced through the mud with my mom and sister trailing us, my dad stopped and did doughnuts in the mud getting mud all over
Until now, holidays in the Colorado Rocky Mountains had always been her favorite time of year, but that was before the money ran out—before facing eviction.
Walking through the woods never fails to clear my mind. After spending all day sitting in a stale classroom, filled with stress, confusion, and overwhelming responsibilities, taking a long stroll through the familiar woods behind my grandmother’s house lifts any worries that could ever weigh me down. I never wander through aimlessly. I always follow the trail of grass that has been deliberately cut down shorter than the rest, making it easier to tread through to the small creek at the end of the trail. The entire journey through the woods behind my grandmother’s house, there and back, first took on a whole new importance in my life during my junior year of high school.
Hiking the Grand Canyon 1. A young boy, barely 7 if that, scuffs his feet along the trail, stirring up little clouds of dust, leaving fresh footprints behind. He carries a bulky, red backpack nearly as big as he is, with a sleeping bag tied to the bottom. His clothes are dirty and raggedy and are completely soaked through with sweat. His face is full of determination and maturity, completely oblivious to the spectacular views of one of the 7 wonders of the world that surrounds him.
A few days after school was out, I decided to take my friend Cade out to the lake house with us. Once we got there we decided that we both wanted to learn how to ski. My dad had to work so my mom took us out on a weekday so that it wouldn't be busy at all. That means the water would be nice and smooth, almost like glass. We got the boat ready and took it out to one of the calmest spots on the lake. Then I went out first and couldn’t even get my skis on. It took me about 5 minutes but eventually I did and I got ready to take off. That was when it got really bad for me.
Assessments today do not always take into account the many different learning, language, and cultural differences that are among the classroom students that are taking them. With English language learners, and possibly other students, it will be important to implement alternative and formative assessments to track student learning and growth. Testing, like high-stakes testing and other standardized tests, not only does not depict all student’s knowledge and progress, but also the inability to be successful in taking them can cause more damage by increasing the feeling of failure. Thus, for these reasons, it will be very important to find other ways to effectively assess English language learners. New Component:
My mother one day, asked all of us if we wanted to play tic tac toe, and of course as young children, we took that challenge immediately, my mother however, decided that she had a different way to play. She took off her bandana for the first time that day, and she said that we should play tic tac toe on her head with erasable markers. All of my brothers and I had thought that it was hilarious and we played tic tac toe over and over again that day. My
The line shortened and shortened until we were third in line, and I bounced my leg, the anxiety about doing a flip bothering me, I turned towards the contraption, watching the people bounce and ricochet off the trampoline. The time seemed to drag on, feeling like hours; it was, in fact, only a couple of minutes. After a while, the workers took the harnesses off the previous bouncers, and the gate was opened to us. Libby and I walked through the gate, slipping our shoes off, being weighed, and finally, workers strapped us into the harnesses. When I first started, I started slow, bouncing a bit, jumping higher and higher.
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her gargantuan skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every morning together
