The hunting trip
By; mason juniper.
When we got to the woods we got out of the truck , and I grabbed all of my weapons I pretty much had my whole hunting arsenal. So the weapons i was using my compound bow, and my shotgun, my handgun, and my knife. The my dad grabbed his bow, his shotgun, his handgun, and his knife. After we got everything from the truck, and gathered up we started walkin One morning it was about 5:00 am my dad, and I were getting ready for our hunting trip. So after we got ready we started hearing eerie noises from outside my window , and may I remind you our hunting trip was on Friday October the 13th 2017. After a while the eerie noises stopped. The eerie noises stopped after thirty minutes, so after the noises stopped we headed out to the woods. The woods were still another thirty minutes away from our house.

So then we started walking it took us an hour to get to our stands once we got there it was about 7:30 am so we sat down, and waited to see if any deer would come without being called. So we sat there for thirty minutes, and nothing showed up. With us being thirty minutes into our hunt, we decided to get out our call bag. My dad, and I started calling, and waited after ten minute a whole bunch of deer started running, and they were being chased by a pack of five coyotes so we grabbed our shotguns , and took the coyotes out. Once the coyotes were down went a 100-300 yards out from our stands so we had to call them back since they were so far out, so my dad grabbed the call bag and started calling, and after twenty minutes of calling a huge 12 point buck came out of the brush. So I told my dad to do a snort and wheeze so my dad
After an hour and forty five minute drive I was home. I still had over two hours of prime hunting left. I saw several deer that afternoon but they were all too far away for a shot. Just before dark I had a doe come in to about 125 yards away. Knowing that there was little chance that I could hit the deer I took a shot. Sure enough It was a clean miss. Disappointed I hopped back in my car and headed back to East Lansing. The next day I got up at five in the morning and headed to Muskegon. The next Tuesday my roommate and I decided to try are luck again. My roommate and I went to high school together and we had always been hunting partners. I had a class at one o'clock that day so we could only hunt till eleven that morning. We were in the field a half hour before light. I was optimistic that I could get a descent shot off that morning.
Located in the popular Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in California. Every year, mother nature’s breathtaking beauty attracts millions of people from around the world. People hike for three long and fatiguing hours in anticipation of witnessing forceful water rushing down the steep mountain from 2,425 feet above. Last summer, my family and I backpacked through the Yosemite Falls Trail and I came to learn what a truly exhausting experience it is.
As we knocked our arrow in the bow we strolled into the woods as quiet as a mouse. Kevin showed me where the stand was and i went into game mode. I climbed in the stand and i started to look around. Less than 30 minutes a 4 pointer came at 23 yards but since it was small i let him walk. I had about 10 minutes of light left and it has been 2 hours since i seen him. Crashhhhh. A doe was at 20 yards. I drew back and looked threw the sites. I seen that she had no idea i was there and i felt bad if i would have taken her life. I diss drawn and let the doe walk.
My dad and I go hunting every weekend during deer season which is from mid of Novmber to the first of Janurary. We go sit at 6:00am and we leave at 8:00am,but why we sit we will be wacthing birds and squirrals playing in the place we have corn they will eat it like deer does.We half to sit still were the deer can’t see us in the deer stand. When we go hunting you have to climb up in the deer stand and then sit patiertly to wait for something to come out of the woods. We look three or four different way in the stand.”My dad stated,” theres a deer.We go hunting in Pearson Georgia. When we go hunting we have to be careful because the gun could go off.It could be dangous going hunting by yourself. But if anything happen I can help him.Because we
I am sitting in the passenger side as my dad is driving, and we are on our way to my grandpa's land which is located about 25 minutes east of Dubuque. First thing we do when we get there is to finish putting on our coats, and then to grab our bows out of the back, then I close my door softly. Walking through the open field I have dead weeds and tall grass crunching under my boots, and at the end of the field we reach a barbed wire fence that we crawl under. Then we cross under a bunch of pine trees and go about 30 yards into the woods to where my tree stand sits. Then my dad tells me good luck and he heads down into the gully where his stand is located. So I then climb the 12 foot ladder and sit on the seat and put on my safety belt and get my arrow ready on the bow string. I survey the land and look for any movement, so I look to the left where there is another set of pine trees, then I look in front of me into the first set of pine trees don't see anything yet. Then I hear a sound of crunching leaves and immediately look to my right and sure enough there is a big doe getting ready to cross the fence 15 yards away.
The very first time I went deer hunting I was 14 years old. Opening weekend, my dad, who is a die hard hunter, was going to take me out with him. We were planning to head up North and hunt on public land in Emily, Minnesota. To make it to Emily and get set up before the sun rose, at exactly 8:06 in the morning, the truck engine was starting at five in the morning and pulling out five minutes later. I was not thrilled about it at all. My dad was nice enough to stop at a gas station and get me a donut and hot chocolate, that made my mouth water when I
We were so excited when we saw the campfire was lit and and next to it were a giant back of marshmallows to make s'mores. When we all gathered around the fire and we were all into our third or second s’more my dad told us he was gonna tell a story about a ghost that lived in the campsite. We all gathered close and closer to the campfire as he got deeper into the story. We could feel chills flow through out arms and legs filling us with hope he was just trying to scare us, but when we heard a loud crashing and snapping of a tree go crashing down near the river we all jumped. We all thought that tree fell because the story was true and there was some ghost that was out to get us.
I have been camping one time, and when we all went to go to sleep, we heard gunshots near the tent, My dad stepped out of the tent to see what was going on. I didn't know what was going to happen to my dad. I could see his shadow casting on the tent wall near me as he walked away from it. It wasn’t long before I heard footsteps walking towards the tent, my heart started pounding even faster and faster as the flap to the tent door lifted. My heart stopped beating fast with a hard punch to the inside of my chest. As I saw my dad, step into the tent. He told us that the people who shot the gun were gone and we could go to bed, That was the first night I have ever heard a gunshot so close it rang in my ears for the rest of the night.
Ok. One night my sister and I were at my father’s house. He lives in Kingsville on 10 maybe 9 acres of land in this [small pause, looks at ceiling] I wouldn’t really call it a farmhouse, just a kind of small house out there. The previous person who lived in the house was supposedly shipped to an asylum, for, you know, normal stuff [pause] schizophrenic or something. My sister and I were at the house one night and we were cleaning up the house while my dad was on some sort of job out of the state and my step mom was at work in the hospital. We were doing our stuff, and then the power flickered, and came back on. We didn’t think anything of it. Then, outside of the door, we heard a noise, kinda like a dog barking, but like, just enough not so that we knew it wasn’t. So, we hear this noise, and start to get fre...
But sure enough it wasn't 20 minutes later and I heard a big snap from just to the left of us in the woods not even a 150 yards. My heart was racing this was my first deer, I had never done anything like this and it was so hard to explain what it felt like I was so excited but on the other hand I was so nervous. Then it happened again “SNAP” this time it sounded like it was a little closer maybe 100 yards away so this time my dad said it is close and he got the gun ready for me and he held the shooting stick out for me and then a big old doe came out “do you want shout him” my dad's asks and I said ya and then Clicked the safety off and took a big old breath tried to hold it steady
I was nearly finished with my cigarette when behind me I heard the sound of something moving through the grass. I quickly but quietly extinguished my cigarette in the palm of my gloved hand and turned around. My eyes scanned to see exactly where the sounds had come from, and I only hoped that the smell of my cigarette hadn't spooked whatever was walking behind me. After about ten seconds I saw the ears of a deer sticking up above the tall grass about thirty yards from me. I slowly reached to my right to remove my bow from a hook in the tree. The deer was now moving towards me through the long grass, and behind it was another deer. I knew that the rut (the peak mating season) was well under way and this second deer may be a buck. After what seemed like an eternity the second deer came into view. It was a buck, as I had thought, but it was bigger than any deer I had ever seen.
It was just another average summer night. I was 13 years old, sitting at home with my father. We were watching TV when I heard my favorite sound. It was the sound of my father’s volunteer firefighter pager going off. Multiple engines were being dispatched to a house fire. I looked at him with excitement as he got up running and searching for his clothes. Just before he started to leave in house, he looked back at me and said, “Well? Are you coming?” In one fluid motion, I jumped up and ran out of the house with him. After arriving on scene, I was told to wait in his truck. Being the young curious boy I was, it took only 15-20 minutes of waiting in the truck before I could not hold my curiosity back any longer. As I walked toward the
As the time to go hunting grew closer, we went target shooting so I could get used to the gun that my dad used to kill his first deer. It felt going hunting would improve the relationship between my father and I. I wanted to kill a deer more than anything else, then finally the night before we gathered our gear and went to bed early to be ready in the morning. The next morning I woke up around four o’clock and went downstairs to get ready. I walked out side to see how cold it was, and on this November day the air was crisp, moist, and cool. We had some breakfast and got in the truck and met with my step-moms brother and my cousin-in-law, who were also hunting with us. One the ride there I rested my head and I had a dream of killing a big deer. We arrived at my dad’s friends land, we loaded the guns wished each other luck and we went our separate ways on the land, with the hopes of killing a massive buck. Me and my dad faced on more challenge before we reached the hunting stands, was a big steep hill that was wet from the rain we had over the night. On the way up me and my dad both had to rest to avoid falling and injuring ourselves.
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
My story started about a week ago. I was heading to bed early, because I was tired from a long day with plans to wake up a few hours before class to review for a test. As I closed my books for the evening and headed to bed around midnight, little did I know something was going on outside.
