Creative Writing: Eight Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mrs. May set a plate full of eight chocolate chip cookies in front me and I couldn’t wait to touch them. I couldn’t sit still in my seat. You’ve ever seen the potty dance; well I’m doing the cookie dance right now. I mean, it’s been forever since I had a chocolate chip cookie.
“So you must have really wanted to have some chocolate chip cookies,” she said. “Good thing I decided to make twenty-four cookies instead of just twelve. So tell me about your day at school, I want to hear everything!”
I wanted to say, what do you mean about everything? But would that mean she would want continue to ask questions which would make me blurt out, I’m trapped in Traci May’s body? But that would mean that she would probably have probed me for alien activity. …show more content…

I have never been good at it. I would say something crazy like, “The day was great and at the end of the day the sky was still blue and the grass was still green? See how crazy that sounds. Of course the sky will still blue and the grass still green. So instead of going into a lot of detail, I just decided that I would keep it really simple and say, “It was great.”
That should have been enough right?
WRONG!
She completely stopped eating her cookie. Like she put the cookie down. She didn’t even have a sip of her milk. What does that mean? That means I must be in trouble or she didn’t buy my, “great”. Did I not say it cheerful enough? I really thought I did.
“Well, that was a lot of detail,” Mrs. May says with a smile. “You usually tell me about all your class time and the horrible things that you had to sit through with Ms. Stein, O, I’m sorry Ms. Horrifistein.”
