It's 10:45 P.M at night but Adam and Mom are yelling at eachother, making as much noise as humanly possible. I called Cleo to see if the dogs and I could spend the night, but she didn't pick up. My last resort is Pierson, I reluctantly call him. Hoping he isn't drunk or at some party. The thing is, I've never been to the place Pierson lives. For all I know he could live in a card board box. He picks up after a few rings. "Hey what's up?" He asks, not sounding like I woke him up. "Mom and Adam are fighting. He responds while walking up beside me. "Do you ever throw parties here?" I ask. "None that I'm proud of." He shakes his head. I've never been to party, aside from the birthday parties consisting of five or six people. But I guess that's just who I am. I'm not interested in being the life of the party. Nor am I interested in drinking or smoking. I'm sure if Pierson had the chance to redo his life, he wouldn't smoke or drink. "Why don't you ever smoke or drink around me?" I ask another question. I know he still does those things, but I'm curious to as why he doesn't do it in front of me. "I'm ashamed of my bad habits Prim. I wish I could give them up, not for my self, but for you. You're the most innocent human being I know. I can't bare to expose you to the darker side of life I'm addicted to." He
