1.0 Introduction
This case study aims to analyse two different career options to explore for my own personal career development. The chosen careers to be analysed are an event manager and a theatre producer, both of which will be considered as future career options. To accomplish this, the case study will focus on the responsibilities of practitioners in these careers, the opportunities and challenges they may face, the skills and capabilities that they need, what links there are between the careers and my own case study profile, as well as what steps I should take to help carry my career aspirations forward.
2.0 Career Descriptions
The first of the two careers to be analysed is an event manager, sometimes also called event organisers or event planners. Prospects UK (2012) describes event managers as being the ones responsible for event production from its conception, right through to its completion. This can include the initial planning and organisation of the event, the development of a management plan to assist in the preparation (Gascoyne Development Commission, n.d.), and the coordination of all aspects of the event on the day its being held (Prospects UK 2012). This career was chosen as I feel like I would enjoy the creative aspects of planning my own unique, memorable and enjoyable events.
The second of the two careers to be analysed is a theatre producer, sometimes also called a production managers or theatre managers. The American Association of Community Theatre (n.d.) describes theatre producers as being someone who is “responsible for budgeting, scheduling work, and coordinat...

7.0 Conclusion
This case study has successfully analysed two possible career options I could explore in the future, event planning and theatre production. After investigating the responsibilities and skills of practitioners in these careers, the opportunities and challenges they may face, and what steps I should take to help carry these career aspirations forward, it is clear that there are both similarities and differences between the chosen career options. It can also be seen that there are some strong links between the careers and my personal practitioner profile. Although there are in fact some key differences between the careers, success in either of these careers will rest on obtaining similar skills, facing similar challenges and implementing similar strategies to build a successful career.
The Entertainment Industry is an expanding industry with numerous career opportunities especially for the quick learning students in today’s world. I chose to study the entertainment industry because I have always had a passion for it. I grew up with music always playing on the radio and if the radio was off, the television was tuned into some show. I know many people listen to music and watch television all the time, but there is so much more to this industry. Being so passionate has led me to studying specific things in the industry and learning the ins and outs of it, which is helping me to find a potential career. There are many people in the industry that I look up to and one person, who has made it in particular, is Debra Rathwell.
The specialization and individualized professions in the field of Technical Theatre are relatively new to the stage in comparison to the period of time in which the art of Theatre has grown. Aiding in the development of concentrated professions such as scenic design has been a plethora of talented, skillful, intelligent and highly driven individuals. Among these influential fountains of creativity have been John Lee Beatty, Eugene Lee, Boris Aronson, Ming Cho Lee, Jo Mielziner, Tony Walton, Robin Wager, John Napier, Santo Loquasto, Heidi Landesman, and Julie Taymor along with many more.
The case study on Kevin Miller is very challenging. Kevin Miller is White 5th grade student, and his parent are very supportive. Kevin has a problem with attention span; consequently, he I has been identified as a candidate for Greentree Elementary School Gifted and Talented Program. I will attempt to describe the issues related to Kevin’s moral judgement and self-concept; furthermore, I will make recommendations on his part.
They operate, maintain and guard the technical assets of the theatre. This includes supervising the use of lighting, sound, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage facilities. ...ctions and concessions manager a long with a general and first assistant manager. I have learned from this assignment that there is so much that goes into the creation and success of a major corporation. I would consider the corporate aspect of this job a career, but the lower end of this job as more of an experience-building job due to the work ethic required to be successful as a cast member and manager. Regal Entertainment Group is able to compensate for declining movie attendance by increasing their ticket prices, which ahs proved successful thus far. This corporation employs millions, and it is a good business.

I would like to begin this reflection paper with my past experiences. First, I am an older student – obtaining my first bachelors from Hofstra University. As a sophomore in broadcast journalism, I was assigned the task of interviewing a graduate student in speech-language pathology as part of a career exploration video for incoming freshman. Filming her and her fellow classmates as they helped children overcome their stutter and gain both confidence and a voice, I was fascinated by the amazing work they were doing. But I had already begun searching for a career path in public relations, soon taking a job at a public relations firm on Long Island focusing on business clients. Within three months, I started dreaming about a career more than a

The career action plan that I outlined provides a strategy that will help to steer the chosen career in the right direction by offering assistance in managing the path of my career. Also, it can assist with the skills and knowledge for the job, and how to go by reaching them. The outline helps to identify the strengths and weaknesses, so I can work towards making those improvements that need development to better the career. Another benefit of using this action plan will help create milestones and timelines, which are required for developing skills before success. Also, it will help to contribute identifying other options as progressing during this
Then, there is technical theatre. This area of theatre is my favorite and the goal for my future. Technicians are the ones who create the world for the actors or somehow manage everything behind the scenes. Before I explain the multiple fields and areas of technical theatre, I must stress how important this side of theatre is overall. When it comes down to getting a degree in technical theatre or pursuing it, people tend to view it as a purely practical occupation and experience based. Take a look at it in comparison to performance; in a graduate thesis by Christian J. Hershey in 2015, he took a survey of college courses offered for theatre education for a technical focused theatre degree rather than those offered for a performance focused
What is set designer to me? A set designer is the most important person in the theater production because their innovative imaginations help the directors how he should peruse the story. Set designer manager is like a central man because he has to communicate with everyone who is working in their play at some point. Such as costume designer, lighting designer, and stage manager. These three managers are important because the scene design should match with the character costume, the light effect will help the set to glow, and stage manager can tell the actors how to perform based on the set space provide. Set designer has the advantage of working anywhere because their job is to be creative. In the 1900s the production has to spend lots of money

The Film and Television discipline is an unpredictable and forever changing, yet growing industry, heavily influenced by technology advancements and societal needs. The rise of Netflix and other on demand online media platforms has collapsed the movie theatre market causing a shift in film and television distribution.
