My advice to someone starting his or her coop would be to start as soon as possible. 150 or 250 hours is a long time, especially if you already have another job. This coop led to two and a half months of a very busy and hectic schedule. It is a very important part of the learning process and I don’t recommend rushing it. In my case I found it a difficult task remembering where I was supposed to be on a certain day, so I bought myself a day planner. I also advise future students starting their coops from trying to do things that you may not feel comfortable with. With me, I was not very comfortable with some of the DOS commands needed to build a new computer. All you have to do is ask someone, no matter how dumb you think the question is because this is supposed to be a learning experience and it will also help you learn to communicate. You will get more out of the coop by asking questions, which why we do the coop.
BBS Computing is located in Greece New York It is a Computer Sales, Service center that also does some Networking systems. Thus, meaning you get what you pay for. The display models allow you to show a customer some of the features of the different types of computer systems that are offered. Such things as operating systems such as Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP, and also programs like Nero for CD burners, All-in-Wonder TV tuner cards and applications such as Microsoft Office. This was my first opportunity to work with Windows XP.
It has come to my attention that the functionality of my computer system is quite limited for the company’s day-to-day actions. It gives me great honor to propose, a new set of systems that will replace the dated systems that I currently use to complete my job. I am confident that these machines will allow me to think of new creative, ideas that will create new innovative marketing strategies for the company.
“Supply manager Joe Smith was considering the purchase of 1,000 desktop Personal Computers (PC’s) for his organization.
Historically the personal computer (PC) industry has sold its products at reasonably high prices yet garnered only small profit margins. One reason for this is the high competition in the PC industry which led to competitive pricing among producers. Analyzing the competitive environment of the PC industry, it is evident that there is very little barrier to entry in this market. PC's have very low physical uniqueness and are made of standard components that require very little expertise to assemble.
I feel that this Coop experience was a great way for me to reflect on my abilities to be a quality educator. I feel that I would have gotten more out of this Coop experience if our school year would have ended a little later, but overall, I think I received a lot from this time. My Coop was at my work at Head Start PDPY in North Platte. The center is a newly renovated room, so it is nice and clean with lots of storage space. Overall, I really enjoy working in the space because it is convenient and although it is small, we are able to make it work well. I felt that I grew as a professional and educator during the time at my coop. There were some specific things that I really felt I grew on as I was co-teaching my preschool children. This quarter
Computers are everywhere, and the demand for them is greater now than it ever has been. Today it seems that everyone wants their own compact super machine, not because it will process thousands of bytes worth of information in a blink of an eye, but because it comes in tangerine. Due to the strategic planning of many corporations that would like to see their products in your living room the

Dell can be one of the most successful companies mostly due to its direct marketing strategy. Unlike other computer companies which sell their product through retailers, Dell provides their computer and service directly to customers. The direct-selling model makes the company understand their customers better and eliminates the retailer cost. What is more, each PC is customized to the customers who can specify what components they want. Dell also holds little or no inventory and assembles products as soon as an order placed. The company can save inventory cost and apply new technology on their product quickly by using the just-in-time approach. In 1996, Dell became the e-commerce leader, for its website is not only some pages describing the details of products but also an online shop specializing computers for consumers. [8] Vice Chief Executive of Bilkent Computer Center, Bilkent Dormitories Administration. Interview. Ankara, Turkey. March 19, 2014
The quest for purchasing a computer can often be complicated and difficult. The hunt can often take weeks or months, and the results are often not successful. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a thorough search and become computer literate before letting out on the mission. In addition, extensive research must be made on the final product to ensure that it fits the requirements, specifications and, often, dimensions pertinent to the tasks that it will have to perform. No single computer serves everyone’s needs equally, and it must be configured to fit one’s desires. One must consider their budget limit, and personal needs and requirements to maximize satisfaction and productivity. Thus, it is critical to make a prudent, wise decision by comparing models and makes, evaluating the specs, and analyzing reviews from reputable computer publications before making the appropriate selection.
Buying a computer today is much more complicated then it was ten years ago. The choices we have are abundant, and the information we must gather to make those choices is much greater. The average consumer is a more educated buyer; they at least have some ideas of what they want in a computer. Yet, we must still ask ourselves these significant questions; such as: What will the primary function of my computer be? What computer components should I consider at the time of purchase? How much money do I have to spend? Where should I go to purchase my computer? For this report, I will consider the requirements of a typical family: using a mini-tower PC with the Windows 95 operating system, word processing, and entry-level publishing programs; as well as, an anti-virus package, games with high-level graphics and sound, and the internet. I will also consider the following components; those essential for the computer to work faster, and more efficient. They are as follows: Central Processing Unit (CPU) – System Memory (RAM) – Storage Device(s). The following is a detailed look at the CPU, RAM, and Storage devices; the important components that you should consider when purchasing a PC. Computer systems, particularly the higher-end models, come in several Configurations: desktop, mini tower, or tower. The configuration you chose should depend - to some extent - on the amount of expansion, (if any) you may want to plan for in the future. Most tower configurations have a greater amount of expandability than mini tower and desktop models. Also, the amount of space that you have in your home for the system should be taken into consideration. Tower configurations are usually placed on the floor; (however, not the mini tower models) whereas, desktop models are made to sit on the surface where the keyboard and monitor are located. The first consideration is the CPU. Today, the Intel Corporation is still the leading manufacturer of microprocessors. However; other chip manufacturers, such as Cyrix and AMD, are rapidly climbing the industry ladder to compete with Intel in the CPU marketplace. Although these other microprocessors are probably just as good as an Intel, there may be some subtle differences in them that may affect their performance. The speed of the processor is very important; this is the measure of its clock rate - which indicates the number of instructions that can be processed per second.
The purpose of this Project Definition Document is to provide a brief overview of the new computer center of Commonwealth Institute of Computing (CIC) to promote a shared understanding of it before a more detailed Plan, Schedule, and Budget is prepared. Businesses today rely on computer technology to assist them in almost every area of corporate life. Computers have invaded grocery stores, fast food restaurants, big businesses and small offices. They process data, store information, work out complex mathematical problems, track inventory, and even control temperature and lighting in office buildings. Reliance on the high-speed digital computer is so complete that the world of commerce would break up to a sudden stop if computers were removed.
Computer system have become an essential part of life, having significant impact on modern society. A computer system consists of hardware components that have been carefully chosen so that they work well together and software components or programs that run in the computer. It is a set of integrated devices that input, output, process, and store data and information. There are several types of computer systems which are “Mainframe” computer and “Desktop” computer being the main ones. A mainframe computer is a computer system that consists of powerful processors, lots of backed up storages and large amount of memory. They are designed mainly to process large volumes of data. Desktop computers are the most common kind of PC (Personal Computer) which as a number of different hardware devices. Computers have become an important part of education in schools.
