It has come to my attention that the functionality of my computer system is quite limited for the company’s day-to-day actions. It gives me great honor to propose, a new set of systems that will replace the dated systems that I currently use to complete my job. I am confident that these machines will allow me to think of new creative, ideas that will create new innovative marketing strategies for the company. The two systems I have chosen to replace my old computers are the HP All-in-One Computer ProOne 400 G3 and ASUS ZenBook 14” Laptop. For the software, I have chosen Office 365 Business, Intuit QuickBooks, and Bitdefender Total Security 2018. The complement the two systems, I have chosen the 2.5’’ Ultra Slim 320 GB Portable External Hard
Drive, SanDisk Cruzer 16 GB USB Flash Drive, and the Canon PIXMA MX492 All-in-One Printer. The HP All-in-One is for my home office as it has a built-in touchscreen which will allow me to utilize programs such as Adobe photoshop and illustrator with ease. Another advantage of choosing the all-in-one is its simple and compact design which will allow me to empty my busy workstation and have a clean desk area without the need of many wires. For my mobile workstation, I have chosen the ASUS ZenBook laptop. This laptop is equipped with the latest processor and is can easily handle my day-to-day activities. The software, Office 365 Business and Intuit QuickBooks are yearly subscription based and is cloud based which will allow me to work anywhere with internet connection. Because most of my work will be stored on the cloud, I have opted for a compact external hard drive and flash drive in case I am traveling without Wi-Fi.

It is evident that the information system used by Kahuna Cleaning Supply is rather slow and inefficient. The director of sales reports that the business lost a big order recently to the competitor who was able to provide the potential client with timely estimates online. The customers are not connected with an online interface and this makes it difficult for the company to compete favorably on the information front. The manual system is therefore obsolete, slow and unprofitable to the company. Since the business computing market is projected to triple within the coming decade, we have decided to capitalize on this trend by conveying the same easy-to-use hardware which made our personal computers an industry staple into this expanding market. To deliver this new line of computers to the market, we plan on dedicating 25% of our production efforts to this new enterprise while we will continue to produce our existing personal computers. This is will allow us enough capital to invest in the manufacturing and marketing of these computers as this undertaking is to be the largest in company history. We plan to have these computers on the market within a year from now after conducting marketing research, product development, manufacturing and product rollout, will require roughly 3-4 months each to carry out. In addition, we plan on marketing these computers to our existing clientele base, by offering our new computers at a discounted price and to smaller, family-owned businesses who may lack the financial resources to afford higher-end versions from our competition. Doing so will allow us to slowly expand our business-to-business sales division as we delve further into this market and our clientele begins to expand through word of mouth from our existing base. After the launch of these computers, we plan
To get to the number one position hard work and dedication is needed. The success this company has achieved is outstanding and to keep up with the market more effort is now needed. My report is on the company Hewlett – Packard (HP) which was founded in 1939. I mainly focused on the Personal Systems Group (PSG): business and consumers PCs mobile computing devices and workstations which is one of the major industries of HP. In order to succeed in the business industry a company needs to understand its customer’s needs and create wants for them. HP found out that the customer needed light weight, useful notebook PCs through its Research & Development (R&D) centre. Hence, it created a want; a New Commercial Notebook PC Compaq Evo Notebook N1015v which packs the power and performance necessary for mobility into a stylish design for only $899(US $). HP also finds out about its customer needs through online feedback forms and survey. Via that, HP was also able to understand that not everyone are able to use their products hence it has created this HP accessibility products which can be accessed by anyone including people with disabilities and age – limitations. Example of such product under the PSG industry is the Mobile Speak Pocket which was specially made for the visually impaired people. ( Refer To Exhibit 1a – 1c )
In conclusion, we do believe that by placing emphasis on a marketing plan that better educates the consumer of the advantages of owning a Sony, the VAIO PC will continue to see a jump in sales. The consumer still trusts Sony because of its brand name and image. Now they just need to see that there money is buying them a machine that will not only serve its purpose, but will be sleek and portable in the process while also staying very competitive in price. We at Four Amigos Consulting believe that Sony’s next step needs to be researching into its current marketing plan to make sure that it is properly educating consumers. It is the belief of this firm that if certain advertising campaigns were developed, Sony could quickly emerge as one of the top contenders in the industry.
Born in the eighties, I entered a world of big hair and bad style. In the technological realm there were tape players, VCR’s, and fresh on the market: personal computers. Apple was domination the computer scene with their introduction of the Lisa computer. But not for long, soon computer technology would jump to unimaginable heights. As I grew up the technology around me would continue to grow and advance – quite rapidly I might add.
“Running the Business from the Palm of Your Hand”, explains the substantial impact technology has in the world today. It demonstrates how various businesses, big and small, from different industries incorporate simple handheld technology in their operations to increase their profits or to gain a competitive edge. The fast-paced inventions of technology went from numerous communication channels such as e-mails and instant messaging to more technologically advanced systems like analytical interfaces and specific diagnostic monitoring tools. Due to the technological advances, companies are adapting to more modern technology to run their company more efficiently. For example, the owner of Jackson’s Kayak is able to use the Wi-Fi on his iPad to connect to headquarters to analyze customer data while remaining in the comfort of his RV. His handheld device enables him to literally take charge of his company in the palm of his hands. Innovative companies such as Ceridian capitalized on the idea that the majority of their target market had access to handheld devices, thus, they launched a payroll app called “Powerpay” which allows its customers to interact with payroll data on their mobile phones. Cellular devices had become a trend in the business world today for efficiency and effectiveness in many outstanding companies. The
In the business world, companies must follow certain requirements when considering purchasing IT whether it be Software or Hardware so it is not an inadequate purchase. In a business perspective, it is very bad business as companies do not want to be wasting money that could go into benefiting another vital part of the organisation and this is what I am going to be discussing in this assignment. In addition, I will be considering some of the latest developments in IT and using them to explain how they could be effective in an organisation and how much of an improvement it would be from their old use of IT.
The world has come a long way with its development of technology. Day-by-day the people who are using and relying on technology have dramatically increased. But out of all these new technologies, the computer is probably one of the most important, if not the most. And two operating systems have been competing with each other from the beginning. These two companies are Apple with their Mac and Microsoft with their Windows PC. Although both Apple and Microsoft have created great machines they differ when it comes down to price, design and operating system, and popularity.
The old saying necessity is the mother of invention "continues to be true, and a new machine, structure, system, or device is the result of that need. If the new device, machine, system, or gadget is really needed, people will buy it, providing it does not cost too much. Then, naturally, these questions may arise. Is there a wide potential market? Can this device or system be made available at a price that people are willing to pay? If these questions can be answered satisfactorily, then the inventor, designer, or officials of a company may elect to go ahead with the development of production and marketing plans for the new project or system.
Sadly, many people refuse to face the onslaught of computer technology. A 1994 survey conducted by Dell Computers indicated the 55% of Americans are phobic or resistant to computers (Column). In addition, many important people, including CEOÕs of major companies, are rumored to be computer illiterate (Column). The former CEO of IBM even admitted to never using a computer (Column). Fortunately, PC’s are becoming more and more user friendly as the technology improves. Fewer errors, less maintenance and quicker functioning should encourage many reluctant people to finally step into the new era.
