The findings of this research had shown both the progress of BIM implementation that have taken place over the years and at the same time the limitations to BIM usage in the management of projects. In the view of the limitations, this researcher is of the opinion that certain steps can help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of BIM implementation in construction projects. The research results had suggested that BIM is applicable and beneficial to all stakeholders in all phases of construction projects. It is also found that BIM have collaboration, legal and implementation problems of which this researcher recommends as follows;
BIM and Project Management should be integrated and amalgamated to form one Entity: According to the findings of this research, it can be confirmed that integration of both project management and BIM is essential for efficiency and effectiveness of BIM in management of construction project. Relying on the above finding, it is imperative that BIM and Project Management should be viewed as one entity by stakeholders in projects. This view will make it impossible to ignore any of the components of BIM and Project management that are very salient to the success of projects.
Adoption of Correct Approach to BIM Implementation: It is part of findings of the literature review that BIM implementation problem is observed in the industry. It is also part of the findings of the literature review that a couple of initiatives are in place for the correct implementation of BIM, an example of this is BIM PEP. A combination of a good approach to BIM and good practice in Project management will form a formidable amalgamated entity for project benefits realization and thereby increase BIM efficiency and effectiveness...

5.6 Personal Learning
This research Study had increased the knowledge of the researcher in understanding of BIM as a phenomenon. The process of reporting the research had also added more knowledge to the understanding of the researcher on research methodology, especially on how to efficiently carry out a case study research. General learning of how to plan and manage time is part of the process of this research study. The research study had also increased the endurance and perseverance of the researcher. The improvement in the attitude of having a pragmatic and holistic view of issues is also one of the benefits gained by the researcher. Among the gains of the process is also an improvement on writing skills.
I got a wonderful opportunity to work for one of the best construction companies, which is Hathaway Dinwiddie. Hathaway Dinwiddie has been in construction industry for over 100 years. Back then they started as Dinwiddie construction and been a part of a lot of historic buildings in California. Hathaway Dinwiddie has an expertise in Building information modeling (BIM), Partnered delivery and lean construction, Design-Build, Quality Control, Best Value exploration, Sustainability and safety. Hathaway Dinwiddie has a history of using BIM back in 1998 and now they are using it at every stage of their projects. They use BIM to summarize quantity surveys, develop preliminary construction strategies and maintain coordination between their team and their partners. Hathaway Dinwiddie provides services like General Construction, Preconstruction, Design Build, Construction Management and Interior and special projects. Hathaway also believes in being one step ahead of its competitor and has been investing in the research and development field also.

The paper presents a detailed discussion on implementation of BIM in a construction project by defining a BIM team in the various phases of construction i.e. from conception to commissioning. Also, the paper presents a brief discussion on processing the information utilizing the i-rooms.

BIM contains precise geometry and relevant data needed to support the design, procurement, fabrication, and construction required to recognize the building (Eastman et al. 2008). Basically, the purpose of BIM is to simulate the construction environment in a virtual database that can be used during the physical construction as well as a virtual model for operations and maintenance after construction is finished. In the beginning, you have access all areas of the project and can determine whether certain areas will need more time in design, where various clashes may happen, or what could be changed for a lower cost. or to speed up the building phase. In his article, Salaman Azhar said, “It is important to note that BIM is not just software, it is a process and software. BIM means not only using three-dimensional intelligent models but also making sig...

The use of information systems is therefore becoming a crucial part of construction industry’s growth whereby “To improve the competitiveness of the industry through increased efficiency, communication and productivity, a strategic use of IT is suggested in delivering projects (Zhen et al., 2005). (2) The industry is very complex whereby its nature is project based with a prolonged sequence that involves planning and design, procurement, contractor selection, project management, operation and maintenance. Due the sector’s complexity it has been somewhat challenging to implement this. It is clear that construction companies today are embracing the concept of integrating IT and project-management tools in their programs. (1) These programs can be beneficial for these companies, a...
Another reason for such increase in knowledge on BIM system is application by construction firms like NIKA Architects + Engineers. Respondents have seen BIM system in application or at least held a glimpse through various commercials by such firms, which has engaged the viewers to explore this ideation.
The type of research that research that is being performed is most simply defined by the question it is answering. Business research (also called applied research) is best defined as trying "to solve specific, practical questions" (www.wikipedia.com).
As a Business Improvement Manager the aim is to drive implementations strategically, with top management visibility and the use of consistent and standardised project management practices and to deploy these competencies with the goal of maximising organisational value. There is an opportunity in the delivery of projects for organisations to add value to better serve their clients and compete in the marketplace. To use the influence of relationships to have active and engaged sponsors who serve as advocates for project initiatives that lead the organisational change towards business excellence.
This paper explores what it takes to be a construction manager and the responsibilities of being a construction manager and the skills that a construction manager should have. It also explores what good construction managers do to have success on their construction projects and the steps that a construction manager must follow to end a project and meet their deadlines at the same
The importance of project management cannot be overstated. For starters it is important that project management provides a flexibility and structure. Project management creates flexible and well-structured business organizations by combining two organization needs perfectly. The organizational needs are determined by making the organization adaptable due to constant changes in the business, secondly organization is extremely important for creating structure. What is most important is that
Infrastructure Management and Construction deals with project management, construction materials, construction engineering and building engineering.
Business Process Management (BPM) is considered as the umbrella of our research. This chapter introduces an overview of BPM which offers a set of diversity values for organizations. Figure 2.1 represents the different areas that we covered in this chapter.
Project management involves all activities that encompass scheduling, planning, and controlling projects. A successful project manager ensure that an organization’s resources are being used both efficiently and effectively. Most projects need to be uniquely developed require a sense of customization and the ability to adapt to any posed challenges. The scope of effective project management includes defining what the project is and what is being expected to be accomplished. Projects are imposed to fulfill a certain need and project managers must have the ability to create the proper definition. Goals and the means used to attain those goals have to be clearly stated. Project Managers must also have the ability to plan
