RAP.VS.COUNTRY These two songs are different but the same .The names of these song are called, meant to be and god’s plan. One more thing is the emotion of each song. One of these songs are are about relationship but also talking about a journey to somewhere . The other is about him wanting to follow his future and people getting in the way of that . The difference between these two songs are .One they are country and rap but that is something small . Two they say different thing . The country song says to go on a amazing journey. The rap one says to not let anyone get in the way of your dream or future. These two song sand out because they tell different messages. They tell different stories . also the tempo of the music
in the background makes it stand out. These song were chosen because . Again they are the same but different.they tell different message. I fill that these are good to compare. The songs mean different things. Like one thing the tempo. Two the lyrics. Three what they are trying to do with there song/ music. They are very different. These songs are very different in their own why ,but they can be the same Like one or two off the lyrics mean the same. These songs were compared to see what the meaning. Each song has a different meaning , and message
The basic premise of the two plots is the same. Both stories deal with the capture of a young person who is to be groomed to live in a private, controlled environment to make them happy, but where they are never able to leave.
Times have changed, and along with the times so has country music. American country music lovers have went from Loretta Lynn and Waylon Jennings, just two of the many classic oldies, to Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, two very appealing country music artists. However, it is not only the tune of the music that has changed, it is the image, the appeal, and overall the type of icons the media is portraying these modern music stars as. Icons such as Lynn and Jennings had identifiable features within their music as well as their appearance that spoke sweet southern belle and rugged twang. Whereas Underwood’s and Bryan’s appeal now is much more sexualized than it was during the oldies. These changes affect the way modern day singers are marketed compared to former country music stars, instead of focusing on talent it is now looks.
The differences I observed were that all of these videos showed a different style of tap dance. While, the Nicholas Brothers in Stormy Weather displayed a classical tap. This kind of tap means that the dance consists of ballet, tap, and jazz
“Rock Awhile” by Goree Carter is a lot more upbeat than “Devil Got my Woman”, with more swing to it. This song is much faster paced and can be danced to. Also about a woman, this song has more happy lyrics about a woman he loved and how his baby was coming home. There are a lot more instruments to this song like an electric guitar, a piano, a saxophone, percussion, etc. and the song was primarily instrumental, which emphasized these different musical instruments. Goree Carter’s voice was a lot smoother than James’ which made it easy to understand and follow along with, and the strength that came from his vocal style easily pulls you in.
Themes in both pieces differ even though they are related to a religious subject. There is a biblical context in both pieces. For instance, Guillaume Machaut expresses devotion to the Virgin Mary in the lyrics. To illustrate, the composer wrote the following text for the motetus voice:
I have listened to country music since I was a little, as did my husband. For him, it's a reminder of a simpler time, helping his father farm, plowing fields into the night. For me, it's a reminiscence of sunning myself in my backyard over summer vacation. The twangy sounds of the guitars and the fiddles always seemed to make me feel at home. For me, country music is a way of life, therefore the reasons I will use in an attempt to persuade you that country music is better than other music include its deep history in America, the quality and content of the music and its relatability.
Of all musical genres country music is perhaps the one most influenced by a male presence. Country music is often associated with the classic cowboy strumming a guitar around a campfire or riding his horse with a guitar strapped to his back. Even the politics of country music is inclined towards a male-dominated, republican, conservative, pro-war stance (Spong 184). The stereotypical women of country music “behave properly” and passively follow the same values as men do. Therefore, in 2003 when the Dixie Chicks, a three member all female country music band, became the top selling female group of all time it was quite an accomplishment. Their success began in 1997 with an image that embraced their versatility. Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, who are sisters, played fiddle and banjo and provided background vocals to lead vocalist Natalie Maines, gifted with a strong, clear voice. Maines stood out from the others with her forceful stage presence. They wore feminine, bling infused, non-countrified outfits. They were pretty to look at and kind of goofy in demeanor (129). The kind of young women fans could imagine having a lot of fun with, but also the kind that young women could identify with through their music. Songs like “Goodbye Earl” described a strong woman who has had enough of her abusive husband and ends up killing him. However, the band delivered it in a style that was far from morose. It sent a clear message of girl power for many women (129). Many accolades followed from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association (CMA) which included Entertainer of the Year, Top Vocal Group, and album of the Year (Towner 293). During the first five years of their career they sold 28 million copies of the three records...
A famous quote from Max De Pree states: "We cannot become what we want by remaining who we are." Whatever it be, people need to grow, make decisions, and persevere; going against the odds and obstacles that get in their way, in order to reach their potential, find their calling, and ultimately find themselves. The road is often difficult, but certainly worthwhile. Struggles, setbacks, failure and regret are often encountered. However, it is the drive for "more", or the "making of a name", whatever that may look like, that pushes people to reach for things they thought not possible. This theme is portrayed throughout Tennyson's famous "Ulysses" and Eminem's Oscar winning song, "Lose Yourself." When comparing the written work of Tennyson to the lyrics by Eminem, it becomes apparent that age, race, class, or profession mean nothing when it comes to "making a name." "Ulysses" and "Lose Yourself" exhibit characters looking for significant growth and change; something bigger and better than what their current life has offered them.
The most obvious similarity between them is the lyrics. The lyrics are all but identical except that Johnny Cash removed the profanity from his cover. The song structure is also the same, it is a contrasting verse-chorus form. The music is performed on a minor scale that portrays the heartache, mourning, and despair that we have come to associate with those notes. Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash both perform the song remarkably well, but they are just so different that it almost doesn’t seem fair to compare them. They don’t even fit into the same
Country music is one of the most diverse changing genres in music that we have today. Some songs can take you on a beautiful story with a happy ending and some can make you feel heart broken and down in the dumps. Both can be great songs, and deliver powerful messages, but can be done in very different ways. Today, the country music that I know and love can either be a good ole laid back mellow song with nothing but an acoustic guitar, or have an entire band rocking out the whole song like songs that are very commonly associated with an artist like Jason Aldean, Luke Bryant, and Brad Paisley. So if country music is such a flexible genre, how it become like this. Back when country music started, it was only done one way for many years and then everything changed. How did an artist like Taylor Swift get associated into country music when critics and avid listeners say that she could just as easily be in the pop singer genre? There is a very big difference in the style of music that a Jason Aldean would play and the style of country that Taylor Swift sings so how did these two very different artists become associated within the same genre?
Kenny Chesney’s, “Pirate Flag” is similar to the above songs, but it is not something I would have noticed if I wasn’t looking for it. Unlike “Waiting for the Sun”, I had to really
They both speak of accepting death and that is cannot be avoided. The theme is very obvious and not hard to interpret. “Now don’t hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky. It slips
This page will tell you the differences of Death of a bachelor and this is gospel. It will also tell you the comparison of the 2 songs. So continue reading and try to figure out yourself why these songs are the same and why they are different.
In both pieces, they have an issue caused by something, so in both text they have a cause and effect on them. First, they both are in poor countries and came from poor countries. Lastly, both of the pieces has a proposed solution.
Thomas Paine said, “To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture.” In a world so diverse, it is difficult to find relationships that don’t have conflict. An abundance of these conflicts happen by narrow mindedness towards others cultures. Even though hostility and narrow-mindedness occur, that is not always the case. The possibility of unity with different people are possible, you will even find similarities that you wouldn’t have found before knowing that person.
