The Mormon religion (Latter-day Saints) was created in 1830 by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. It is practiced throughout the world today. L.D.S. follow both the bible and The Book of Mormon written by Joseph Smith in 1830. Throughout the years the mormon religion has continued with the dedication of it's followers.
At the age of 14 Joseph Smith discovered his religion. All of this was during the Great Awakening in the American Life, this was when many religious options were pushed away and very few were optional to the people(Ellwood 208). In 1816, Joseph had beliefs that he was the first prophet in the Mormon religion. Joseph's first prayer took place in the woods away from his family (Bushman 39).
Joseph Smith's religion had started in upstate New York on the Erie Canal in 1830 (Ellwood 208). The mormons believe that the bible was translated incorrectly and that their story came from the Hebrew portion of the …show more content…

Some of his teachings had disturbed with the more conservative mormons. After Josephs assassination many of his followers had chose to follow Brigham Young as their new leader ( Ellwood 209). In 1832 Joseph had decided to to write another book named A History of the Life of Joseph smith, this novel was based on Joseph's birth through his decisions up until he wrote the Book of Mormon (Bushman 233). Joseph salvation had gave away his new start in history. He had said that only in the light of the lord can there be forgiveness, the only respectable moment was forgiveness and grace (Bushman 40). Brigham was baptised into the mormon church in 1832 (Brigham). Brigham Young took on the practice of polygamy and had multiple wives and he had 57 children. Young had been planning the great migration out to Utah with Joseph. Brigham's followers have decided to call him the second prophet and president ( “Teachers”
