Is there an answer to one of the biggest questions about what is said to be the greatest love story of all time? In other words, are Romeo and Juliet in love, or not? Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare and takes place in Verona, Italy in the 1300’s. The two fall in love and have a secret relationship behind their two families feud. In the end, they end up killing themselves as a result of thinking that the other is dead. The feelings that Romeo and Juliet had for each other were feelings of true love because the book says that Romeo and Juliet love each other, they fell in love really fast, and they kill themselves, because they want to be with each other so badly. One reason that the feelings that Romeo and Juliet had for each other were feelings of true love is it is stated in the book by the writer. In the Prologue, the chorus says, “It describes the course of their love…” This is dialogue written by William Shakespeare and it declares their love. The person who created the play is the only one with the right answer and he wrote that they are in love. In the Prologue, the chorus says, “Two unlucky children of these enemy families become lovers…” This proves that Romeo and Juliet are in love, because Shakespeare decided so.
