Romeo & Juliet’s love true or not
Everyone thinks of love in their own little ways. Some people might even think of it as an escape from their problems. But one thing that we all have in common is that we all desire love and we will be desperate for it until we get it and when we do we might obsess over it. The most popular books, tales and short stories are mostly based on love or at least have something about love in them and that is probably because we can all relate to it. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is one of these popular stories because it really emphasizes and focuses on love. But is the love between Romeo and Juliet real or just a passing phase that is irrational?
Romeo and Juliet love is irrational and the first reason for that is because their love is very superficial like for example at the masquerade ball when Romeo saw Juliet he fell in “love” with her looks and beauty instantly before even talking to her and later on in the

Juliet is only 13 and Romeo is 17, they are just teenagers and being a teenager their Juliet thought that she was in love with Romeo the moment he showed any affection for her, which shows that she did not really understand love or the meaning of it. Romeo and Juliet were both having problems in their lives for example; Juliet’s parents (Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet) wanted her to marry Paris and Romeo was in love with Rosaline who did not love him back and we know that because he says “Out of her favor, where I am in love” and he was talking about Rosaline and because she did not love him back so he just wanted to get over her. you can tell that they were sort of an escape to each other’s problems which makes them more attracted to each other and shows that they were both just something that would distract each other from the problems they have In this
It’s often said that love at first sight is what occurred in this dismal story but you can not truly be in love until you have gotten to know the person and actually talked to them. When Romeo first saw Juliet he was already saying he was in love with her and didn’t even speak to her, “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!” (I.V.52). When in actual, true love you must know the person. Juliet had just learned his name and she was already calling him her love, “My only love, sprung from my only hate!” (I.V.138). On top of that, they were just teenagers. Majority of all teenagers suffer from mood swings due to the hormones raging through their body. One day they’re angry the next they’re sad, so how could they have truly known what they have wanted? Yes, it is possible for teenagers to be in love, but it’s hard to tell whether it’s actual love. “One fairer than my love? The all-seeing sun” (I.II.96) In that line he was talking about a girl he met before he met Juliet, Romeo was claiming he was in love with her, Rosaline, and he was really down about that sitatuion. “Is Rosaline that thou didst love so dear, / So soon forsaken? Young men’s love then lies / Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” (II.III.66-68) Friar Lawrence even pointed it out; if he was able to get over Rosaline that quickly then he did not love her. If he could get over her that fast then he could find somebody else and get over Juliet
“Nothing is perfect. Life is messy. Relationships are complex...People are irrational” said physiologist, Hugh Mackay. As a matter of fact nothing was perfect for Romeo and Juliet. Their lives were messy. Their relationship was complex. And they certainly did act irrationally. Romeo and Juliet quickly fell in love at the beginning of the plot in the play, named after them, created by Shakespeare. To be able to escape from her home and be with her love, Juliet drank a potion that made her seem dead. Romeo, not knowing about the plan, took his life at the sight of her “dead” body. When Juliet woke up and saw Romeo dead, she ended up killing herself as well due to his death. Shakespeare portrays the message that being in love can cloud people’s
Throughout Romeo and Juliet love and hate are combined. However even though they are combined love still remains the principal theme in the play. Although in the play the theme of hatred can be just as important and sometimes it intensifies the theme of love. For example Romeo and Juliet’s love wouldn’t have been so extreme and powerful unless there was the hatred between the Montague’s and Capulet’s.
Everywhere you go, there is love. Whether it’s someone loving their cat, or someone loving another person; it can even be someone loving life in general. When you feel love you make sacrifices for the thing that you love because it is special to you. You feel like you only need that one thing in your life and you’ll be content. If you love that thing very much and that thing just disappears one day then you may feel as if you cannot go on without it. All of these feelings are expressed throughout the novel, Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. Love is a powerful emotion that can make people do crazy things in life.
Romeo and Juliet choose their own actions through their judgments, which were caused by their belief of everlasting love. Due to their unsound and absurd attitudes, both characters are dazed by love in a puerile manner. The relationship they created was actually built on lust and desperation. Firstly, Romeo is the first character whom shows immature love in the story as a whole. Once Capulet’s party is over, Romeo’s attitude leads him to jump over the wall to Juliet’s house and exclaim to her,” And what love can do, that dares love attempt./Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me”(2.2.68-9). The effect of love caused Romeo to not pay attention to the consequences of jumping over the wall and talking to the daughter of his enemy. The flaw is that he is beginning to think that his love is as hard as nails. It is illogical for Romeo to think this...
Love is a powerful human emotion which can manipulate you to do would or could regret in life. In ‘Romeo and Juliet’ , Shakespeare talks about all types of love; aggressive, friendship, unrequited and romantic love. Shakespeare shows different emotions to each type of love. By doing this it makes each type of love unique and different and also exciting as every love differs.
True love is one of the most genuine, not to mention precious feelings in the world. In Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet, a pair of lovers denotes the strength of true love and it's ability to overcome nearly all obstacles. However, this kind of love is a rarity due to it's pureness but somehow many cheap imitations are still mistaken for real love. Romeo and Juliet's love is authentic and by no means an infatuation seeing as first of all, they both risk their lives to see each other and would rather die than be separated. Juliet also has an unusual level of loyalty towards her partner for her age which supports the idea of true love. In addition, throughout the play, Romeo's demeanour started to change and he began to mature in a considerably short period of time. Young love is a petty sentiment nonetheless when it develops into a fully-fledged unconditional love, both partners will begin to evolve and will do nearly anything for the other.
Despite what many people think, Romeo and Juliet is not a love story; rather a story of desperation and obsession. People have been reading Shakespeare for hundreds of years and several people have mistaken it for a love story, due to the fact that Romeo loves Juliet so much he is willing to kill himself when he finds her supposedly dead; she does the same when she wakes up to find him dead. But in fact, Romeo is more taken aback by her beauty than he is in love with her. Juliet is intrigued by the fact someone could love her because her parents are very unsupportive of her. When the two find each other, they immediately become obsessed, mistaking this for love at first sight.
Romeo and Juliet is a romantic love story about a young lad named Romeo who has fallen in love with Lady Juliet, but is unable to marry her because of a long-lasting family feud. The play ends in the death of both these characters and the reunion of the friendship between the families. Romeo is in love with Juliet, and this is a true, passionate love (unlike the love Paris has for her or the love Romeo had for Rosaline) that nothing can overcome, not even the hatred between their two families that is the reason for the death of their two children. Throughout the play, Shakespeare thoroughly explores the themes of both true love and false love and hatred. Without either of these themes, the play would loose its romantic touch and probably would not be as famous as it is today.
You’re only young once, at least that's what everybody says. When you are young, you are supposed to live it up, take a chance, and have fun doing it. In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet both were too young to be in love, and in the end, they both ended up dead for no good reason. The cause of Romeo and Juliet's deaths is their own fault because of many reasons. First, the day before, Romeo was just trying to get over another girl that he thought he was madly in love with, so when he meets Juliet it is essentially a rebound from his last relationship. Second, Juliet is young, rash, and doesn’t really know what love is yet. Finally, they were both so blinded by the thought of love that they couldn’t see that what they had wasn’t true, lasting love.
In some cases, love can be confusing. I like to compare Romeo and Juliet to Heathers. In the movie Heathers, a girl meets a boy who has a strange knack for killing. She doesn´t leave him for a while and that is because she has a strange love for him. I believe that Romeo and Juliet have this love for each other, just minus the killing. Shakespeare displays this theme in his play ¨Romeo and Juliet¨. Romeo and Juliet are two young people who meet and instantly fall in love. This love they share brings about many joys and horrors. Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet ride the roller coaster that is love.
Juliet was as young as thirteen and Romeo was seven - teen, yet their age did not measure the love that the young couple shared. After getting over his ex - girlfriend, Romeo grew head over heels for Juliet after a few mere hours. After leaving the Capulet
Romeo and Juliet, two 13 year olds, fall madly in love after Romeo claimed to be head over heels for a girl named Rosaline. They each go unimaginable distances to be able to see each other, and even commit a double suicide in the end. From the very beginning of the play, Shakespeare shows that Romeo and Juliet’s love could eventually diminish the feud between the Montague and Capulet families that had. Shakespeare wrote, “(...) From forth the fatal loins of these two foes /A
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a love tragedy in which two teenagers fall in love in the matter of five days and end their lives in the absence of one them. In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare portrays love as dangerous feeling by showing the crazy actions people can make because of it, their selfishness for achieving happiness, and extreme actions that have serious consequences. Love can make people commit reckless decisions. While Romeo and Juliet have their second encounter in the balcony Juliet suggests to Romeo, “After knowing each other for merely a day, Juliet decides to ignore the troubles between the Montague's and the Capulets and chooses to marry a man she barely knew, and who she knew was a part of a family that her own family hated. Juliet was aware that if she married Romeo a civil war between the two rival families would start, however she did not questioned nor thought about the outcome and impulsively agreed to marry Romeo; which proves that when
Does Romeo really love Juliet? Some may say no but others agree with no doubt. “To be or not to be, that is the question.” William Shakespeare was a very intelligent man. What we thought to be a love story actually had a deeper meaning than people usually think. When two families foil each other enough to make two kids rebel against their families wishes, don’t you think to stop the feud that had been going on for so long? When Romeo and Juliet would rather die than be apart. Do we call that love? I have to argue yes. There is no point of falling in love with someone if you don’t want to be together forever.
