From homemade recipes all the way to your grandmother cooking in the back until she passed it off to her daughter, Greek and Italian Restaurants have been at the heart of amazing cuisine since the beginning of the booming restaurant era. Two in particular hit home, a small family owned Greek restaurant by the name of Greektown and then on to a Italian powerhouse, Tutti Santi owned and operated by an Italian iImmigrant Robbie. Both of these two restaurants are one of the best in each category of food, they share similar prices and decor but, differ heavily in atmospheres and food. Once you walk into Tutti Santi you do not only notice the Italian music playing you see the wall plastered with faces of countless celebrities. Customers then walk a few steps and are greeted by a beautiful young woman named Katie. She leads customers either to the left or to the right. To the right is a decent sized dining hall that has a mirror wall. To the left is a smaller dining area with the same makeup as the other side. There is an upstairs area used for parties as well as bar down on the lower level. The walls are made up of images of Italy as well as having that atmosphere of being in Italy. Then we move from Italy to about 677 miles West to a little country called Greece, well not really we move onto Greektown, which is the closest you will get to Greece in Phoenix. As soon as the customers walk into Greektown you are greeted by a family and I mean my brother my mother as well as me and my father. You walk right in to see the bar and the murals of Greece that were hand painted. My father the waiter then leads customers to their table which is either a booth included in a partition painted blue and white or a table near one of the hand painted murals of a beautiful Greek Island. Every person that you see inside of a greek restaurant just believes that Greek food is just lamb and Gyro, it is much more than that. It is seafood chicken and salads. Its definitely a healthier option although it might not be an immense amount of food where people are taking home boxes filled to the brim. Greek food is still amazing and the dessert that sells itself is baklava or a honey walnut pastry with filo dough. Next Italian restaurants also share much of the same foods pasta primavera, salad, chicken, shrimp, they do not have lamb or baklava. To replace those two dishes are cannolis and steaks.
Home made food defeats Italian food at the end of the day. So the winner is easily Greektown, they share a family atmosphere as well as making quality food at a reasonable price. It is healthier and more unique than the same old Italian food. So as they do say in Greece instead of congratulations,
Olive Garden always has a warm welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy dinner with your family. The waitresses and waiters are always respectful and care about your needs as a customer. On my many occasions to Olive Garden the service I get is always exceptional. I have a toddler and my servers were always very patient.
Two locally owned famous restaurants in Sedalia, Missouri, El Espolon and El Tapatio, are both recognized as quality, authentic Mexican restaurants that serve Sedalia with outstanding service and great food. After paying each establishment a visit this past weekend, I have discovered some differences and similarities in the two. Although many of my relatives have chosen El Espolon as their favorite, I found El Tapatio to provide a more ethnic experience with their excellent food, sharp service, and clean venue.
For example, a cheese and pepperoni topping pizza at Domino’s is very popular because it is very tasty and delicious to many people and that is why they comeback to Domino’s. The satisfaction of a meal at Domino’s will consist of what type of pizza the customer will pick and either some chicken wings or chocolate cake added to the side. This meal will make a family very satisfied and their temptation of craving the meal again will comeback sometime later in the future, which will make them order again from Domino’s pizza. Another example, will be a dinner meal at Olive Garden, which consists of lasagna, bread sticks, and salad. This meal is very delicious and much healthier than the meal mentioned before this. This meal is a family bundle and it has a higher price than the Domino’s meal. Many customers will return to Olive Garden because this meal is great for a family dinner night. Overall, the Olive Garden meal is much better in taste, but the Domino’s meal is cheaper in

A restaurant that can capture anyone’s heart is Carrabba’s Italian Grill. What makes it different from all the other Italian restaurants? That would be the authentic taste and experience the restaurant provides its customers with. Whether diners choose to go out to celebrate or gather the family for a delicious meal, there is one place that they will certainly enjoy having it at, Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Dave Thomas an American restaurateur and a philanthropist once said, “It all comes back to the basic. Serve customers the best-tasting food at a good value in a clean, comfortable restaurant, and they'll keep coming back.” (thomas). Everyone can agree on Dave Thomas, but I have a couple more criteria to add to his idea of a great successful restaurant. If I go out to eat I might as well pick a place that, though may be expensive, has scrumptious food because why bother going to spend money on food you can make yourself? A great restaurant has to meet three of my criteria’s: the Décor and atmosphere, impeccable service and cleanliness, and most importantly the food.
One quality that is involved in a restaurant is the atmosphere and the positive energy it gives off. Considering the Western theme, they have the restaurant well decorated from the entrance, to the place where you sit. The walls are painted with tumbleweeds on them, with great lighting that allows you to see, and not go blind. The plates and silverware are very nice, as is the food that goes into them.
On the other hand, Olive Garden has a more expensive taste. They are limited to the food style of Italian. There is a lunch deal with unlimited soup, breadsticks and salad on discount for business meetings. Also, there is an appetizer of salad and breadsticks with every entree that is ordered. If there is one place in Naples that I never get tired of going to, and where I can have fun just by basking in the ambiance of its atmosphere, it’s the authentic Mexican restaurant, Cilantro Tamales. At first glance the restaurant seems to be in an inconspicuous spot, lying in a strip mall containing a no-name music store and consignment shop. However, despite the location, Cilantro Tamales stands out from all other restaurants or gathering places.

There’s a lot more to being Italian than the typical stereotypes that we have come to know from movies, television and books. From the Catholic mobsters who kill during the week but always make it to mass on Sunday, to the “how you doin” views of Joey from the television show “Friends”, people often forget the more important parts of being Italian. It is a culture like no other, full of history, art, and most importantly, their passion for food. Italian food, in my opinion, is the best in the world. Italians put so much into everything they make that the time and effort is tasted with every single bite. One of my favorite dishes would have to be fettuccini alfredo and it just happens to be a fairly easy, but extremely delicious, dish to make. Trust me, if I can make it, you can make it.
The Santa Fe Grill is a relatively new Mexican restaurant that was started by two former business students from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The idea sparked after the two roommates who were both interested in pursuing entrepreneurial interests decided that a Mexican restaurant in their city would be highly successful. While taking an entrepreneur class at the University, the plan for the business began coming together. Their main focus was to create a restaurant that would feature the freshest ingredients, as well as a lively atmosphere, cutting edge advertising and marketing, plus exceptional service for customers. (Research Methods, Pg. 19) By doing so, the students hoped that they could fulfill their dreams of ownership.

My father, Giuseppe, now deceased, was born in Sannicandro, province of Bari, Italy (Region: Puglia, - southern agricultural area near the Adriatic coast). My mother is of Italian descent and both her parents were born in Italy. I have always been proud that I am the son of an Italian immigrant and feel that my Italian heritage has helped me to develop my character and my work ethic.

The side walk cafes are very popular in Rome. The cafes were always populated with happy Italians and a few curious tourists. The most preferred cafe was the Cafe S. Petro. this cafe was in perfect walking distance from the Vatican city. The Vatica n city is were the pope lives. The main meals served at the cafes varied from pizza to tortillini. The pizzas were not exactly like Pizza Hut's pizza. They were crispy thin with very few toppings available. Most pizzas came with cheese, pepperoni and a watery tomato sauce. The tortillini had soft, medium-length, hollow noodles with more watery tomato sauce. Another favorite at the cafe was the lasagna which was unbelievably delicious. After having tasted the pizzas and the tortillini, I was not exp ecting the lasagna to be so tasty. The lasagna was packed full of hot meat, zesty cheese, and a tangy tomato sauce. It was not out of the ordinary to see Italians, instead of eating at the cafe, talking with their friends and sipping on hot cappucino.
