The long, debated question has been asked for decades… which doughnut company reigns supreme, Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts? Many people believe that Krispy Kreme is better because of it more traditional flavors and being able to get their doughnuts hot and fresh. On the other hand, many people like Dunkin Donuts because it is more modern with many different flavors to choose from and The choices of a variety of hot or iced coffees. Many people love coming into Krispy Kreme and watch their doughnuts being made right in front of them. Watching the creamy, white glaze fall over the hot doughnut is a wonderful sight for anyone that wants to sink their teeth into a fresh, sweet doughnut. However, in today’s busy times people love that they can go to Dunkin Donuts and go in and get a coffee and a doughnut of their choice for a quick, delicious breakfast that can get their day started. Another question to be asked is the amount of stores there are for each and their advertisements. Are the two companies really as different as they seem, or are they similar in ways we don’t see?

When watching a Krispy Kreme commercial all I see is doughnuts everywhere and sometimes they will throw in a cup of coffee to go along with them, while in a Dunkin Donuts commercial I see a lot more coffee and other breakfast products than I do doughnuts. Since I was about four years old I had an obsession with fast food: Krispy Kreme. My obsession takes me way back I can even remember everything growing up. According to my grandmother, whenever we drove by a Krispy Kreme when I was about four, I would say the word "doughnut" seeing the big red circle sign the words saying hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts now. And that is where it all started for me and my favorite type of sweet junk food. Krispy Kreme, in particular, had an influence on me growing up. I’m however, very passionate about American doughnuts. Most kids I grew up with were passionate about cheese balls, pizza, popcorn, and ice cream; I never seemed quite interested in those type of goodies. There has always been something that were completely irresistible to me about a little sweet glazed or fill doughnut and some hot chocolate .I am not sure if it is the way the chocolate iced glazed with sprinkles doughnut that caught my eye and attention or the way the original glazed doughnut smelted in my little mouth. I had gotten hooked from what seems like birth.

When I saw this discussion, I couldn’t help but think of Starbucks and the impact they’ve made throughout their 45 years of establishment. I worked with them for about 7 years and saw how unique they were from your everyday coffee and latte spots. A retail company with thousands of coffee shops in the US as well as in other countries, this particular retailer has been able to catch the eyes of all ages as well as locations throughout the world. For example, today college students utilize Starbucks locations to study rather than go to a nearby library. Starbucks is also known for its best coffee and espresso drinks (Latte or Frappuccino) and with one of its delicious espresso 's any student or just a person stopping in to enjoy its lounge area where there is free Wi-Fi is awesome! Starbucks lifecycle has made a 360 turn around and been revamped twice to accommodated the growing market. Customizing their brand to fit more in with everything and not just one thing. By doing this they’ve created multiple product lifecycles within their own lifecycle as a corporate company.
